Hey, at which slot you put wifi/bluetooth card (usb conector)? My mac wakes up instantly after it goes sleep. My EFI folder and bios settings exactly like in the last update, just I use DSDT.aml for RX (I got 580rx). The only internal usb slots ive got on auros pro mb  - both of them usb2.0 hubs and I think bluetooth part of the wifi/bluetooth card connected to one of them is what causing to waking up immediatly

Happily reporting, working now with 19.1 smbios, igpu disabled, latest kexts and drivers from AG, 10.14.6, system works better than ever.

Question: i also copied Fsinject.efi driver. Do i need it or is it obsolete and i should remove it?

Oh guys i'm confused about MSR unlock for z390 Pro Wifi :worried_anim:
For now i'm using MSR trick of AudioGod, but maybe is better to unlock it completely. I see that there isn't file profile yet for Pro Wifi, so what should I do? I prefer to not flash a full firmware, as he said AudioGod.
Moreover i have problem with my hackintosh, my External Usb 3.0 Hdd is not recognized on all usb port, and also my Dlink Wifi Usb adapter today is not recognized on the same port that worked yesterday

Nobody is even reading this thread anymore. The answer has been discussed so many times. I outlined the alternative steps above, like 1 page back.

your find with the it worked story’s that the people claiming it ain’t doing anything other then tinkering.
As long as there’s no code written into the apps themselves for AMD CPUs there really is no way around it. You can make Catalina perfect using a ryzen but that’s not enough.

Lets get something straight here too. I can’t stand intel and I think there CPUs are second rate compared to a Ryzen 3000 series and even more so the upcoming 4000 series and if I didn’t need macOS my build wouldn’t have a intel inside. :(

There will be. Apple has been steadily adding support for AMD. One day macOS will run on it natively. Expect Adobe to roll in support over the following 5 years :hysterical:

Yeah the code is appearing but for all we know it’s just for testing and will never come to pass. It’s happened before and don’t forget there claim to go all out ARM from around now (il believe that one when I see it). There’s defo hope but that’s all it is and nothing concrete what so ever unfortunately.

I'm sorry, i read your post but I was just trying to understand. These are new things for me and I don't want to risk making a mess, because touching the bios is a delicate operation.
I'll read github and i try to unlock

I can help with Thunderbolt, if you have the GC-Titan Ridge card, put it in the bottom slot and use this SSDT on APCI->patched folder.

I have connected my Saffire Pro 40 through FW400>800 cable and TB3 adapter>Thuderbolt 2 adapter to FW. Works flawlessly for me.

*Remember to install the drivers on windows first, and on bios set the options to:

1.Security: No Security

2.GpIO Force Power: Enable

Works for me directly from Osx.

SSDT-Z390-RP21-SLOT4-TB3HP.aml

Thanks! It works on paper at least. It shows up on the System Report and Hackintool's PCIe panel. I'm still not getting a "Thunderbolt Bridge" option on my network panel, but I'm assuming it is just something the card can't do. I'll have to order a FW to TB3 adapter to test it with my FW HDD and Scanner.

you still have clover don't worry.

what's stopping you coming up to Catalina bro?

I currently have over 70 apps and utilities that are only 32-bit. I don’t use al of them all the time, but when I need them, they are there. Something as simple as Art Directors Toolkit which is a helpful utility for deigners. I will have to give up at some point, especially since ADT is not under development any more.

I am happy for you man, it will work. With hotplug too! (meaning turning on the device after booting to Osx)

Remember to set the bios options as i said and the one time driver install in windows.

Look at my last pci entry. This is the FW adapter connected

I would just use the modified grub method rather than loading someone else’s profile. The nice thing about AG’s patched bios is that the MSR lock is unlocked, permanently. If you rely on a profile, it’s exactly the same as using the grub method. Resetting that profile, reflashing the bios will all but wipe out your unlock.

https://github.com/datasone/grub-mod-setup_var

just make sure to use the setup_var_3. The value to unlock for this board is: 0x5C1

Yes, do it yourself. It is dead simple to do and you can be sure it works on your machine. I know I have a specific set of BIOS settings that I like to use for my machine.

Also, anyone on the WiFi version of the board, be sure you have updated the BIOS to 12c. I've seen a lot of mentions of non updated boards. AudioGod's EFI works only with the 12c BIOS.

Clover works just  fine. Has for 10 years and will for the foreseeable future. Slice and the team make updates all the time. Not a whole lot of documentation of what they've done :surprised:, but they do update. There is no need to feel forced to move to OpenCore just because it is the latest and greatest. It may be the future, but no need to jump quite yet. It isn’t even at version 1 yet.

@AudioGod has been a godsend to AORUS Pro and Pro Wifi, and Master users. But you shouldn’t  rely on him having to update your EFI for each and every update. You need to maintain your EFI yourself. With tools like Hackintool, that is very easy to do. Update Clover and kexts when you feel necessary. I do it almost every time there is an update but the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule does apply here :D

My biggest blindspot is DSDT and SSDT patching. I'd like to learn but don't know where to begin. All of the guides so far that I have found are more like tipsheets to nudge people who already know what they're doing in the right direction. Or is this more than a net guide can do; do I need to start with a paper book ACPI reference guide?

Any bump in the right direction would be appreciated.

Interesting. No plain vanilla "Thunderbolt Bridge" like the one that shows up on my MBP, but it does show up with a firewire adapter. My MBP is old enough to have a FW800 port, so I'd like to see how it would work. I'm refraining from ordering stuff by mail with the COVID-19 restrictions here, so it might take a while for me to test it. I prefer not to put others at risk for something that is non-essential.

Remember to generate your own serial number, SmUUID, and board serial number. I erased those before I uploaded it.

Unfortunately, it won't work. MacOS and the built-in WiFi/Bluetooth are incompatible. In fact, the "uia_exclude=HS14" boot argument is there to disable it completely just i case it might interfere with another device.

I didn't know this when I bought it. If I had known, I would have just got the Z390 Pro instead of the Z390 Pro WiFi. There are compatible WiFi cards, but I don't know which since I don't need WiFi. I just use a USB bluetooth dongle.

By the way, my EFI is just AudioGod's EFI (Clover Z390 Pro Polaris EFI 260320.zip, see the first post on this thread) + "uia_exclude=HS14" boot argument + SSDT-Z390-RP21-SLOT4-TB3HP.aml patch (for the Thunderbolt card). There's nothing special about it. I would have referred you to the original EFI, but I thought you were trying to help me with the Thunderbolt card, since you were quoting my post about it.

It might be better to start with AudioGod's EFI (it works for the WiFi version too); I can't remember all the changes I might have made to the original.

All I know is that AudioGod is using a "ABWB BCM943602CS 802.11AC WI-FI With Bluetooth 4.0 PCI-Express (PCI-E)" card and it is working for him. Again, see the first post of this thread.
