Good news people for all you Navi GPU users.

10.15.4 beta 5 corrects Navi freezing problems under certain smbios so from 10.15.4 release, smbios iMacpro1,1 is good to use again if you prefer it. :thumbsup_anim:

I think if you have iGPU disabled or auto maybe this setting goes away.

That's correct. The odd thing is that these settings will only appear once you enable the iGPU, save settings, reboot and enter BIOS setup again. Then they magically appear.

Yeah it’s good again buddy,

I have been testing since beta5 came out and even did a overnight test and my system is still standing. It’s still running now (sleeping while I’m at work) and hasn’t been restarted or shut it down since the update.

I know this thread is mostly about getting your PCI devices listed in the profile, but I have a few questions about the Titan Ridge Card. I have an old MBP with a thunderbolt 2 port, so I need to get an adapter and TB2 cable to test it out with the card. Until then, it would be nice to get it setup correctly before I test it.

What did you do to get it working? Is hot-plugging enabled with your setup?

I did notice my card wasn't initially listed in the io registry explorer utility until I used a temporary installation of Win10 and installed the drivers. Then when I went back to the "mac side", it showed up under RP21? (can't remember off hand), but of course is doesn't show up under the PCI profile (purely cosmetic, I know). Just wanted to ask if there are any details you can relay to me like BIOS settings for the card.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hey man sry 4 the delay, i haven't tested hotplug but my Firewire Audio works with adaptors, here are my bios settings, Windows driver report and Hackintool stats. And yes its on RP21 for me too (bottom slot).Hope it will help you. Remember on Discrete Configuration menu to set GPiO Forece Power to ON.

did you flash your Titan Ridge ?

No, but there doesn't seem to be any firmware update available on Gigabyte's support page, just a Win10 driver. Anyway, the card may be working for all I know. I just need some parts to come in so I can test it.

flash the card with the alternative firmware (see MacRumors f.i.) , you'll get full TB hotplug etc etc . I can confirm it's working absolutely smooth.

No worries. I'm taking a long time to get things set up on my end... just working on it for an hour or so every few days. My current Hackintosh is working just fine, so there is no hurry.

Thanks for the screenshots of your settings. It definitely will save me time troubleshooting.

I did a search and found the download from DSM2.Hackintosh of "TitanRidgeMacOSFirmware.bin.zip" along with the Open Core EFI for MacPro5.1. Correct?

Anyway, I'm too chicken to flash my card right now. I think I'll try to get to work as is, then I'll consider flashing it if I really need the hot plugging.

Thanks for the information.

correct, it's worth giving it a try. You need only a SSDT modified for RP21 if seated in the lower x16 slot .

CFG Unlock (MSR) F12d BIOS Profile - The Easy Way

Highly recommended if your using a Vega 56/64, Radeon VII or Navi GPU

  Hide contents

@texem Has kindly made this bios profile for you all to use that will unlock CFG on your motherboard making it play alot more friendly with the NVRam.

It also has all the bios settings listed on this guide pre done and saved onto the profile.

F12d_UNLOCK.zip  - Use with Bios Revision F12d ONLY

1 - Download the profile and save it to a USB Key

2 - Go into the bios,

3 - Load the profile,

4 - Save and exit

5 - Go straight back into the bios and save your bios to a new profile and name it Default CFG Unlocked or something like that.

6 - Boot back into Catalina go into your clover config and under Kernal and Kext Patches Uncheck KernalPM

7 - Save the changes and then restart and your done, your motherboard will now be CFG (MSR) Unlocked

If you want to use Bios F11 instead then use this profile

MSR Unlocked  - Use with Bios Revision F11 ONLY

PLEASE NOTE - If you reset the bios or load bios defaults it will clear the Unlock making CFG Locked again.

Hello everybody, I have the aorus-z390-pro WIFI (Bios 12c) mainboard and in the first time a different  Bios Version to pro. (Bios 12d).  How can I load the Bios profil or  MSR Unlocked.

I tried to load the profile, without success.

Aorus-z390-pro WIFI BIOS 12c

Aorus-z390-pro BIOS 12d

How can I MSR-Unlock !

Thanks!

Hi! I followed the steps for the BIOS and I am now done with installing Catalina. However, I noticed that the fans for my graphics card is not spinning and I think maybe I am using the integrated graphics. How do I make my gpu work? Thank you!

Hi, what’s with the big writing? Hahahaha

my bios profile is made for the non WiFi version of the board and won’t work on yours. You will need to unlock your MSR yourself I’m afraid but if that’s a bit much for you then just leave it locked. My EFIs. Will work both ways just check the notes is you want to use OC

The Graphics card will start spinning the fans only if it passes a certain threshold which I think is 60 Celcius

That is correct bud, the fans use zero 0% when the gpu is not in use (just like in windows too)

nothings wrong there but if you want to make sure then run Lexmark and check, should be all A ok :thumbsup_anim:

They are the correct bios settings but won’t give you a unlocked MSR. Google search it on how as I’m not near my computer now to send you a link.

you can upgrade to Catalina with no problems at all. :thumbsup_anim:

@WizeMan do you have a link you could share on how to unlock for this guy please bro?
