Sweet and congrats!  I'm loving my system so far.

Have you tried Amazon Prime Video under Safari?  Can you see if you can decode the following DRM protected video using Safari on the following page:  https://bitmovin.com/demos/drm

Сlicking on this link in Safari froze my Hackintosh, so deeply that even the Magic Touchpad 2 doesn’t work (no click).

In Chrome - OK.

In Safari on MacBook Pro Retina 2014 - OK.

What does it mean?

you need to try different shiki values until you find the correct one.

there are universal DRM problems at the moment caused by Catalina and this is affecting real Mac users too. We call it DRMGATE here and there’s not a lot you can do about it at the moment tbh but also most people bar anybody using a Polaris gpu can get it too work. It’s not your fault or my fault or the EFIs fault  but it’s something that Apple and or WEG need to fix.

Use this chart to try different values.

One more comment regarding https://bitmovin.com/demos/drm.  Google (Chrome) and Apple (Safari) use different DRM implementations.  So, that link will use FairPlay DRM when using Safari and Widevine when using Chrome.  That makes it a good test to see if the different DRMs are working in your system.

So, your system seems to be the same as mine.  Widevine is working under Chrome, but FairPlay is not working with Safari.  Unfortunately, Amazon Prime Video will not play 1080p content with Widevine, which is why it would be nice to get Safari working with FairPlay.

I'll give a Shiki value of 128 a shot (but I'm not all that hopeful).  With shikigva=128 Amazon Prime returns an error instead of crashing the page, but still doesn't work.  FairPlay test page doesn't show any video as before.  Also Itune/AppleTV app won't play purchased videos, so looks like I'm going back to 80 and will revisit if/when things get updated.

Hello

My hardware is

z390 aorus pro wifi bios F11

i5 9600k

2x8 GSkill 3200 GVKB

Samsung 860 Evo 1Tb

GPU XFX 5700 XT Thick III

Monitor Samsung c27jg54qqi (2K resolution). The HDMI cable is plugged in port hdmi2.

Thank you for awesome tutorial!

I have 1 small issue. My monitor has 2K resolution and 144 refresh rate. Plugged in by HDMI.

The issue is when I reboot the PC, it lost HDMI signal and does not show the clover properly. And when I switch input hdmi port at the monitor (switch by button, not plugged off the cable) to hdmi 1 and then switch back to hdmi 2 the PC now can see clover again.

What I'm doing wrong ? It seems that display does not wake up.

Yestarday I had noticed that if I connect PC to 4K TV (55' Sony 100Hz refresh rate) it works perfectly. Also if I connect to display in port HDMI 1 (the low refresh rate 60Hz port without FreeSync) it also works perfect.

So the issue cause only when I connect to display in port HDMI 2 with 144 Hz refresh rate.

Need to try the display port cable.

Thanks AudioGod and GlasGood für these perfect tutorials!

As i was always struggling with a full functioning MacOS, I switched to the Z390 Pro Mainboard, and everything works just flawless, except for 1 thing:

I am using a RX5700XT connected with Displayport to a LG 4K Display and i cannot control the audio level. Is there some workaround?

Thanks :)

I have done multiple exercises on Multiple SMBIOS's and EFIs for our builds as I had a Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB and I just bought a Radeon Vega 56 two days ago.

To save you all some time (and keep @AudioGod from having to answer multiple times about DRMGate) I am posting the report:

The Verdict for macOS Catalina (10.15.2) with latest Lilu (1.4.1) + WhateverGreen (1.3.6 - latest commit 79398ee) pulled from the master branch is:

Polaris Cards (e.g. Radeon RX580):

The only thing you can get is Apple TV(+). Netflix and Prime Video as well as other DRM protected content does not work on Safari. You can try other browsers like Chrome or Firefox where you will be able to watch, but the resolution is not Full HD.

To get Apple TV(+) you need SMBIOS iMac19,1 (@AudioGod's latest RX Polaris EFI is perfect) and instead of shikigva=80 use:

shikigva=32 shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94

You will have Apple TV(+) working and NO CRASHES when trying to play DRM content on Safari. It will just not play, it won't crash.

Navi & Vega Cards (e.g. RX 5700XT, Vega 56, Vega 64):

There are two different routes you can go:

  • Use SMBIOS iMac19,1 (the latest and greatest by @AudioGod is perfect) and leave shikigva=80 boot argument as is. This way you'll have Apple TV(+) AND Netflix on Safari. Amazon Prime does not work (the webpage reloads on a loop saying there was a problem) nor other DRM test streams (e.g. the BitMovin) which is a bummer but WEG development is in a good way and I think our patience and the developer's hard work will give fruits sooner or later.
  • Use SMBIOS iMacPro1,1 (the last iMacPro1,1 EFI by @AudioGod is perfect even if it is not using ocQuirks but you can also get @AudioGod's latest iMac19,1 EFI and change the SMBIOS information and remove the shikigva boot flags using Clover Configurator) and disable your iGPU. You will have Apple TV(+), Netflix and Amazon Prime Video working on Safari in HD, but:
    • SMBIOS iMacPro1,1 is not the Perfect match for our hardware and Power Management is not close to Coffee Lake CPU as the iMacPro1,1 is packing a XEON
    • You lose SideCar (which might not be that big of a deal, but it is noteworthy)
    • Other DRM test streams still not work (e.g. BitMovin Demo or EzDRM) which means it is not as perfect as it seems.

@WizeMan Thanks for that buddy, that will stop DRMGATE for a few days but that’s all it will do because people can’t let it go...lol

i guarantee that by the end of the week and when the post is lost in a sea of posts it will come up again.

I have a real Mac (19,1) in the office that has the exact same problem so get off the subject people and just except that under various smbios it’s broken until Apple and or WEG fixes it.
I don’t believe that even 5% of the people trying to make it Work are ever going to watch prime or Netflix on it anyway. It’s your TV, Tablet or your phone so what’s the big deal? I don’t get it,,,,,:hysterical: :hysterical:

It’s 7.30am and I’ve just woken up and feel I need too take a minutes time out from my break/work in Vegas/CES to make this post as I can’t believe DRMGATE has reappeared on the thread again. yikes!!!! :frantics:

I'd like to report that the latest (Jan 3) iMac19,1 Vega / NAVI EFI with the MemoryAllocation.efi has been giving me quite the issues.

Bluetooth devices (mouse / keyboard) were disconnecting and the computer needed reboot, also it occurred a couple of times that after bluetooth devices disconnected, the external USB drive I have connected for Time Machine force ejected and then the screen went black. I had to long press the power button to shut down the computer and switch it on again.

I reverted back to the 17/12/2019 ocQuirks Vega / NAVI EFI (just replaced Lilu + WEG to the latest master) and it seems to be stable now.

@AudioGod If there is something you need me to test in order to improve the newest version let me know. I' ll be glad to help.

@WizeMan try the latest EFI again but this time replace OcQuirks and runtimeservices with the files below, restart and try again.

That should fix it for you. Fingers crossed.

OcQuirks R12.zip

One other thing bud, when you update clover make sure you don’t update any of the .efi drivers.

One other thing bud, when you update clover make sure you don’t update any of the .efi drivers.

@AudioGod I did all this and unfortunately it did not help. Not 5 minutes since I booted my bluetooth devices (mouse & keyboard) disconnected. Had to connect a usb mouse to restart the computer.

Thank you @AudioGod for your help!

I have Z390 I Aorus pro wifi working awesome with your EFI, and with the patch also sleep.

What should i do right now to test? Do you tell me in the other thread isn´t required to do a USBMap, i have all ports working yes. The only thing is that take near a 40seconds to get to desktop, but got bluetooth with Belkin, and sound, ethernet... and so fast!

im really a bit baffled bro because I haven’t touched anything to do with that side of the EFI so it should be working as per normal. Could you try dropping memoryallocation.efi in the drivers for me please so I can see if that’s the cause for you?

most people are happy and working but there are 3 of you that ain’t. Here’s the thing though one is fixed because he needed a fresh boot, the second is unrelated to your problem and I think we have to the bottom of it so I’m miffed over this one.

lets see if we can find the root of the problem.

what Bluetooth and WiFi combo card are you trying to use?

if your trying to use the pros built in Bluetooth then forget it as it’s totally incompatible.

disable via the bios and buy yourself a recommended pcie WiFi/Bluetooth combo.

if it’s taking to long to boot then you might of done the hd630 patching wrong so double check it buddy.

the green screen is a separate problem where Catalina is attempting to send the wrong colour mode to your monitor. This happens mostly with dell screens but can happen to other makes too,

the fix is to force RGB to the screen.

heres a link to a guide for fixing it pal.. :thumbsup_anim:

im really a bit baffled bro because I haven’t touched anything to do with that side of the EFI so it should be working as per normal.

Dropping as in deleting? I tried that before I revert to Dec 17 EFI but wasn’t able to load macOS. I will try again though, by resetting NVRAM first and I’ll let you know.

Yes drop as in delete it out of the EFI as a test.

im just trying to track down the cause.

don’t use the masters Bluetooth and WiFi card bro, get a new pcie one, where you might h able to get it to work it’s still gonna cause problems for you.

@mazagngy are you using the EFI from this thread or my Z390 Master thread?

if you using the EFI from here then start again using my Z390 Master EFI that you can find on my Z390 Master thread here.
