@glasgood just finished trying this EFI out and it goes into sleep fine but when i press the mouse to wake nothing works after that. Same issue i was having with the post rx580 EFI. I have to restart the computer manually after.

Can you enable "XPRW change method patch" in Acpi / DSDT and test.

Can you try following steps in guide:

SLEEP  – Sleep and Automatic Sleep

What are your full  system specifications, and can you attach your EFI folder.

I've completely restart the whole guide process and now it works fine and boot every time to the main drive (I use the hackintosh right now) !

However, I've a last problem - and this is a problem for me because I need it them a lot : The USB ports work for flash drives for exemple (I tried every one of them (usb 2, usb 3.0, usb 3.1) and the flash drive shows up on the desktop every time)

BUT, if I try to use the USB ports for my external hardware - like my Focusrite Clarett 4 pre USB audio interface or my master midi keyboard - The USB ports on the backplate doesn't work, the light turn on the keyboard but it's not found in my DAW, if I switch to the front USB ports or to one of the four USB2.0 ports on the backplate, it works fine... So, I can only use the 2 front USB3.0 and the 4 USB2.0. This is strange, and I don't get it because I've use your EFI (Post) and Got the exact same hardware. Any Help ? This is my system specifications and my EFI folder https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8njlu27mqi1nhnu/AAAEGIv-yjWoXlw_wrEiC8X3a?dl=0

Sounds like your external usb hardware is USB2. Follow guide and create an SSDT and change some of the USB3 ports on motherboard backplate to USB2. So change some SSxx on backplate to HSxx.

Hummm no, the Focusrite Clarett is both USB3.0 and USB-C (depending of the cable you use). Maybe for the Master keyboard, yes.

But why I can use the front USB3.0 port with the Clarett and not the port on the backpanel ? plus, the clarett works (the sound is audible, but it can't be visible on the software attached wit the hardware).

Can I maybe try the alt SSDT that you've shared ?

SSxx / USB3 is enabled on backplate but no HSxx / USB2 on those USB3 ports. Device should work if you enable HSxx on some of the USB3 ports on backplate. You could also disable HSxx on front of case and enable them on backplate. There are some spare ports to play with, and keep to usb 15 port limit.  looks like your external usb device requires all pins on usb device.

Have attached an SSDT with both USB2 & USB3 enabled on HS07/SS07 on the back plate.  Test out that port using SSDT attached. If depending on your EFI folder, you will have to temporarily remove USBPorts.kext and use USBInjectAll.kext and place SSDT inside Clover / ACPI / patched.

If device works through HS07/SS07 and if you need more ports then just create an SSDT using guide.

Thank you :) I will give it a try !

I found that the Focusrite Clarett have to be powered BEFORE turning on the hackintosh because it doesn't support "hotplug". Do you have any information about hotplug for this hackintosh ?

I don't know if it's problem because of this specific hardware or because of the hackintosh itseft...

Thank you

I'm not sure on that.

So, according to Hackintool, HS09 and HS10 are the front case USB port. Hackintool says that it's a USB3 connector but if I am right, it's JUST a USB3 connector, but it act like an USB2 because of the mention "HS" ?

HS : USB2

SS : USB3 .   ?

Sorry, total USB noob here

Quick update : I followed your instructions but nothing changed.

I can confirm that every USB2.0 ports on the USB2.0 hub on the backpanel work (right know I got 3 hardware plugged on and I can see them on my system specifications.

I still don't understand why it works on the front panel with SS both the 2 SS ports and not on the backpanel.

I got the exact same motherboard as you !

A single USB3 port that you define as SSxx will be recognised as USB3, or a single USB3 port defined as HSxx  will be recognised only as USB2. A single USB3 port defined as both HSxx and SSxx will work as USB3 and USB2

Example, xx is the port number :

USB 3 Port can be defined in SSDT as HSxx and it would only be able to work with USB 2 devices.

USB 3 Port can be defined in SSDT as SSxx and it would only be able to work with USB 3 devices.

or

USB 3 Port can be defined in SSDT as both HSxx and SSxx and that USB3 port would work with both USB2 and USB3 devices.

USB 2 Port is defined only HSxx

USB2 header on motherboard is defined as Internal

USB3 header on motherboard that connects to front case USB ports is defined as USB3

USB2 is defined as USB2

USB3 is defined as USB3

Inside Hackintool, there is also a guide that explains how to create SSDT or USBPorts.kext.

==>>USB GUIDE

Best!

Did you confirm that HS07 was active by using IORegistryExplorer ?  Read my USB Guide to see how to verify that HS07 along with SS07 is included in ports.

Just attempted it with EFI you provided and the sleep procedure and its still freezing at the login screen when waking from sleep. I really cant figure out whats causing that in that EFi but not the EFI you posted in the bottom of the first page....??? Weird

Clarrett is a Thunderbolt device, not USB 3. The Scarlett line is USB. That might be the problem?

Uhh are you sure they are usb 3. I have the clarett 8 and it’s usb 2 even when you select usb type c connector, it’s still usb 2.

After Windows Update I have a third entry in Clover. I followed your video to prevent overriding Clover but it happened anyway. Any ideas how to get rid of this entry?

Before proceeding back your Windows Drive.

You will have to mount the EFI partition on your Windows Drive and remove 'bootmgfw.efi" from inside EFI/Microsoft/Boot

So

To mount disk, open terminal:

diskutil list

Then mount windows EFI partition, example on my system Windows is installed on disk2 and EFI partition is on partition disk2s2

So

To mount disk2s2

sudo diskutil mount disk2s2

In image below, make a backup copy of bootmgfw.efi and name it  bootmgfw-orig.efi , delete bootmgfw.efi and the extra Windows boot option is removed.

FINAL CUT PRO  – Configuration for AMD RX5xx

Hey @glasgood, So i have narrowed it down to what is causing my system to freeze after waking from sleep and it is this step. I Realized with the Other EFI you have on the bottom of your page it did not include this fix as i was exporting a video in final cut and noticed the GPU was not working as it should only the cpu. I proceeded to use this fix and while it did fix the GPU from not working, when i put it to sleep and tried to wake it brought the issue back in which is freezes. Just when i thought that my system was running fine lol.

I went ahead and changed my SMBIOS to 18.3 to see if that would fix it as well but no luck. Somehow i think the gpu is not waking up properly from sleep. What are your thoughts?

Oh ok it's ob the windows EFI. In the tutorial video it looked like you're doing it on your main boot drive. I'll try that. thanks

Good day everyone!

I was wondering if it is normal that every time I place my Hackintosh to sleep, after wake up I see a bunch of "Disk not ejected properly" messages for my USB connected hard drives.

Is there a way to not receive those messages?

I saw this topic, but it is since 2016 and probably outdated, so I ask if there is another way that nowadays works to solve that "issue".

Thanks!

Hi,

I explained how to resolve the "Disk not ejected ... " in guide few weeks back.

Please see section:

External USB Storage:  Fix "disk did not eject properly" message upon wake from sleep

Thats possibly the wrong volume you are trying to mount.

Enter:

diskutil list

and post a full screen dump of your listed disks..
