Cipha
Thank you so much for this guide! Super easy to follow. I set up my first Hackintosh in about 2 hours with Win 10 Dual Boot! I have a quick question though: In the Settings it now says i9 9900k but I'm running a i7 9700k. Do I need to change this to make it run more stable? Or is this just text? If so, could you please explain how to? Thank you in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/31/#findComment-2679488 Share on other sites

Since it seems to run smooth right now I don't wanna mess up It is necessary for some applications that use the iGPU such as Final cut pro. Quick view or preview on jpeg files sometimes stop working if igpu and smbios is not setup correctly. For example: if your smbios is imac, the system will look for igpu with hardware acceleration for application, if the igpu is not setup correctly, the app will stop working properly or switch to cpu for the task. Also I just realized there's a bigger problem with USB ports. Only the USB 2 ports on the back of the mainboard are working properly but no USB 3 port is working. Any ideas? Thanks for the support. I don't think it matters much at this point. As long as you get the iGPU running. It's just cosmetic , I think. About the USB 3 problem, using the default config from Glasgood, the USB 3 port only works with USB 3 devices. USB 2 devices will need to be plugged into USB 2 ports. wdopulencia
Just a question, with the XMP disabled, i doubt that it makes my system not detect 3200mhz of my ram, it only shows 2133mhz. Is it okay to enable it? What will happen if i enable it? Or is there other away to correct this? Thanks! Sceme29
Ok so i was able to figure out my bluetooth not working or showing up at all in bluetooth device, turns out the usb port on the motherboard where i connect the bluetooth cable was disabled. I was so confused on how that happened so i just replaced the whole efi folder again with a new downloaded one from the first page. I was also able to overclock my I7- 8700k and have it running nice at 4.9GHZ. So just when i thought everything was running perfect i have come across an issue when i wake the computer from sleep. It seems as its either freezing on my password login screen or the usb ports don't work at all since my keyboard and mice don't work. I even tried reconnecting the usb's and reconnecting them to another port but i get no response. I end up having to hold the power button and restart the computer. After doing some googling i have found that creating a SSDT fixes most sleep issues but your EFI already includes a SSDT so i'm left wondering if it can be something else causing this issue? I haven’t noticed any temp issues yet, but once I get home I’ll check to see if I have an update available. At this point I’m crossing out any possible solutions as I really need sleep to work properly. How easy is it to update a firmware for a ssd? I did verify prior to this issue that my bios settings where done exactly but I’ll recheck as well just to be on the safe side. I literally copied and pasted Glasgood EFI to mine and it works perfectly with sleep. In fact this is the most stable machine I've ever had. Therefore, any deviation from the original hardware config maybe the cause of the sleeping issue. Let's just temporarily disable the overclocking and reset all bios settings to the default then set it back to Glasgood's recommendation and test. (save your OC profile before do this ). 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/31/#findComment-2679866 Share on other sites

Yes I agree, it is extremely stable and since this was my first build I made sure to not deviate from his guide. The guide is so well put together as well, it made my life so much easier. I actually had this sleep issue before over clocking as well which is what makes my head hurt lol. I can’t seem to figure it out but I’ll go ahead and do the following when I get home. - update ssd firmware if available - reset bio settings and set them again - copy EFI over again , which I haven’t changed anything tbh Hopefully it’s something I missed on my part but I’m afraid it won’t be as I was extremely thorough when setting it up.
