Hey guys can you help me out here, I’m having a blonde moment, I’ve got ws x299 sage/10g with dual x550 10g ports, subsystem is set as Asus and I’m having a very though time calculating the offset, help?

Hi, i'm kind of stuck on a strange problem. on a cold boot of my system my usb mouse(Corsair M65) most of the time does not work, i see it has power but does not move the pointer. If i unplug it and plug it back in to the usb2 port on the motherboard everything works. Then on a warm reboot it will work most of the time. Any idea where i should start looking? Just to add my usb keyboard always works, also a corsair. thanks in advance.

controller figures as 1043 instead of 8086, thus at your own risk... I also miss an ifconfig screenshot but from the other screenshot above I guess your 10g ports are assigned to enp179s0f1?

Thanks man I'll give it a shot, I have 2 10G ports so I can experiment with one and see what happens, I was just having a really hard time calculating the offsets, its better ask then burn the thing.

On the 1043, yeah I saw it. its Asus Vendor ID, I might have to change it back to 8086, Ive seen this done couple of time with AMD a while back.

Yes that's hopefully the correct patch.. I am somewhat worried though.. the chip shows up as ASUS and not as Intel.. at your own risk, ok?

Are you sure that you need to modify the eprom to make this chip work? Anyway it might be really a good idea just to patch one port at first place.

Please verify once more both patches above by means of my example in my guide.

Are you sure that you need to modify the eprom to make this chip work?

Yeah I do, it won't work without it. Asus change the vendor from Intel, changing that won't affect anything except maybe drivers under windows. its X550

Thats the plan, patch just one port and see what happens and if all goes well the second one.

are you trying to patch the onboard 10g ports? This is way easier and no patching required!

Just place The FakePCIID kexts in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other and SmallTreeIntel9259x in /EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.13 or 10.14 if you're on mojave.

Now problem #2, kernel panic/reboot after sleep (it's hit and miss, sometimes reboot sometimes not)

Any suggestions?

I am still missing Screenshots of all your BIOS settings and your entire EFI-Folder (not a listing). You can upload the latter e.g. to google drive and provide here a link for the latter.

DSDT.aml is created by pressing F4 in the Clover boot menu and is usually stored in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin.

After some time the keyboard and mouse would both stop working. unplugging does nothing at this point so i have to hit the reset button. the files are in the google drive link, there is a EFI folder and a BIOS folder. Are you not able to see the files?

I did not see the EFI-Folder at first instance, as it was not zipped.

Please download modified EFI-Folder and implement it in the EFI-partition of your system drive.

Note: Beside other changes I modified your XHC USB kext and enabled all CP->PR replacements in the config.plist. I hope the latter are the correct replacements, half of them were disabled.

Yet you have to add your SSDT X299-Nvidia.aml. Try to implement also all yet missing System SSDTs, especially XHCI.aml, XHC.aml and USBX.aml

Please download modified EFI-Folder-Folder HERE and implement in the EFI-partition of your system drive.

Note: Beside other changes I modified your XHC USB kext and enabled all CP->PR replacements in the config.plist. I hope the latter are the correct replacements, half of them have been disabled.

Call for fully-implemented, board-specific XHC USB kexts

All experienced users with fully-implemented, board-specific XHC USB kexts for motherboards not yet being part of the respective XHC USB Kext Library are kindly invited to upload their particular XHC USB kexts after following the correct kext nomenclatures defined in my XHC USB Kext creation guidelines, by also providing full motherboard and SMBIOS denominations.
