Can you do me a favor and run a Geekbench 4.04 test. I'm curious if you're getting full CPU PM.

Hi mcf, I was also curious, but roughly midway through the test, the Geekbench 4 stops running and exit. I think it has to do with being in 12.4 still without NV graphical acceleration, because in normal situations never did this.

On a positive note, I figured out why I was getting micro-stuttering. Turns out the Logitech Performance MX Mouse is a pile of... 

 

The receiver is garbage and intermittently (10-15 seconds) drops the wireless connection while the software spams the console with HID Tickles. Swapped to an old Microsoft Mouse and no more stuttering. Can't believe I put up with the micro-stuttering since 2015!  :surprised:

It seems that you don't unlock your BIOS like @Fergarth did, do you?

My guess is that the patch stabilizes my CPU by eliminating states.   :rolleyes:

If you have unlocked it, then that's weird.

 

According to this post, I saw that you had NOP out the call of _xcpm_core_scope_msrs, which means that your MSR 0xe2 got locked.

 

Do you also enable KernelPm in config.plist ?

You may try to enable KernelPm, then disable that patch... But in this case I don't think you have unlocked your BIOS fully... (Because you still need to disable _xcpm_core_scope_msrs)

Oops. For now disable KernelPm and re-enable that patch. Will dig further on this but... Not now.  :P I think it's time to get some sleep...  ;) (Yup. IMO I may be old and no more passions to do anything...)

 

BTW. I think you should take care of your RAM detection, which appears to be 0 MHz... (Check SMBIOS sec)

And you can also update your MacPro6,1's SMBios info if you'd like to.

For my part everything is operational

The only difference is the CPU, for the 5930K, use voodootscsync

I gave my original bios, it is not unlocked

Please provide XCPM patch information (which patches you're using in your config.plist, if any) and an AppleIntelInfo dump.

Load by doing this...

sudo -s
Then...

chown -R 0:0 ~/Desktop/AppleIntelInfo.kext
chmod -R 755 ~/Desktop/AppleIntelInfo.kext
kextload ~/Desktop/AppleIntelInfo.kext
 

Run this command:

As I expected, missing C-State residency.

They are missing here too...but after 10.12.3 update. I remember until 10.12.2 with same patches i use now they were enabled.

Oops. For now disable KernelPm and re-enable that patch. Will dig further on this but... Not now.  :P I think it's time to get some sleep...  ;) (Yup. IMO I may be old and no more passions to do anything...)

 

BTW. I think you should take care of your RAM detection, which appears to be 0 MHz... (Check SMBIOS sec)

And you can also update your MacPro6,1's SMBios info if you'd like to.

Using your AppleHDA dummy kext and every time I restart my computer, my selected audio device is reset to "Headphones".
