AsusFreak
Sierra running on X99, no FakeCPUID and no Null. Obviously nothing changed, no official support. Not near as responsive as ElCap but expected in the first beta.
Maf3r0
well done, up and running, so far so good! almost everything works fine – audio, wifi 168c 2b, HD3000 – but… • I need to disable gt610, otherwise I get black screen after first boot stage; • there's no more option to allow third software; • what's the problem with apple to remove shortcut ctrl+eject (press to show shutdown popup)???; btw, THANKS TO ALL that make possible running this DP. Riley Freeman
I never used that option to enable third party software anyway. Preferred to just right-click and open to make an exception. That seems to still work, as I needed to do this to update Clover earlier.
insanelyDeepak
Had to remove AppleALC as it was causing the /var/empty boot loop. I only use it on the X79 for the sake of completeness as I use external USB audio. Yes Riley AppleALC was cause to loop for me I remove it gone and it stop FakeSMC to work further I think

Rocky12
Ok on older would-be-unsupported Penryn C2D/GeForce 8400M laptops too. Sierra won't install with pre "late-2009" SMBIOS such as MBP5,1 for instance but will do with MBP7,1. Once Sierra is installed, older SMBIOS settings can be reverted Ok. Eg: Dell Latitude D630, Intel Penryn T9300, nVidia NVS 135M Hi Herve what Do you think about Dell workstation or hp can we install i'm also stuck on apple logo with MacPro 5.1 SMBios

Mirone
I have the Same problem The Card which I have is nvidia geforce gt 610 Yeah, you will have to mount an installation stick manually, and remove all kexts NVDA and GeForce. S / L / E. then you managed to install the system. Edit: use this flag: nv_disable = 1

magnifico
I would suggest to delete all kexts not strictly necessary during the installation of a 1 day old Os... @Riley Freeman try that:ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext.zip (remove all other **PS2** you have) ONLY FOR SIERRA
PencilNotPen
A bit of a specific question, but can someone who has Sierra installed tell if the behaviour around edited photos has changed? For example, photos edited on iPhone and imported through Image Capture appeared on Mac with separate .aae files containing the edits. The photo and the .aae could then not be recombined again, and .aae couldn't be imported into Photos for Mac with its photo to show the edits. Has this been fixed in macOS Sierra? Can .aae files be handled now by Photos and Image Capture? This can be quickly checked by taking a photo on iPhone, making any edit, connecting iPhone to Mac, opening Image Capture and importing it. If they come as .aae and .jpg (2 files), can they be dragged into Photos for Mac whilst showing the edits instead of the original? Many thanks to anyone who can be bothered to quickly check this for me :-)
Riley Freeman
ONLY FOR SIERRA It "works", but the mouse cursor jumps all over the place and the Trackpad prefpane is blank so I can't even enable tap to click or anything like that. It's better than nothing, but I'm hoping for a fix from VoodooPS2 as that works much better here.
arsradu
Guys, is there any solution for audio on ALC 1150? Not necessarily in Sierra. But in Sierra, as well, since, at some point, I'm planning an update. But in my case, it doesn't work with El Capitan either. Sound injection set to 1, I've tried both AppleALC.kext (in Clover) and Toleda's patch-on-the-fly method. Nothing works. I have no output devices other than some weird "Apple TV (2)". Motherboard is a GA-Z170-Gaming-K3.
