How to fix?

Wi-Fi Works. But always dropped internet connection in 5-10 min without disconnecting to the access point.

Hi everybody,

I am having a Dell 7440 and Mojave running. Recently I've changed the Intel wifi card and installed the Atheros 9485 but I can't get it working.

I've made the following:

- installed AirPortAtheros40

- put ATH9KFixup.kext into the "other" folder

- and put IO80211Family.kext to S/L/E

Attached you'll find my current config.plist.

I guess I got something wrong since it still doesn't work. Do I need any boot-arg and/or a specific KEXT TO PATCH?

It would be great if somebody has an idea what to change to make it working.

Hi everyone,

Alas, all proposed "ATHEROS" solutions are not functional for "MOJAVE" 10.14.3...    :wallbash:

Am I right or not ?!

works for me on 10.14.3, but no airdrop. don't know what i'm doing wrong.

How did you get it to work with that wifi card? What version of Mojave are you running? I am at a loss.

So if I am following you correctly. I update my config.plist using cc with the modifications you made in the pics. Download and select the files from the AR9485 folder. Then I replace Lilu.kext and ATH9KFixup.kext in Clover\Kext\Other on my hackintosh and put IO80211Family.kext to replace the old one in S/L/E?

Put corresponding kexts in /s/l/e for the easy way. replace io80211family.kext. put the wifi card to use by injecting the correct boot flag in clover/config.plist. if 9485 then -ath9485, if 9565 -ath9565, if 946x no need to apply anything.

if it works try putting the injector, fixup and lilu in /l/e.

can you guys please check if airdrop and bluetooth function correctly?

Still no luck. When I go to the network pane in system preferences and click on the + in the left menu I get kicked back to the main page for sys prefs and a popup that says Preferences error: There was an error in network preferences. I put the kexts in s/l/e and l/e, as well as putting lilu and ath9kfixup in the other folder. I am trying with 9485 btw.

check if you have InjectKext/Detect in config.plist. all 3rd party kexts are to be installed in l/e for you to keep track of them. other is only for installation and recovery, does not make the system boot faster, does not show you if the kexts are in error, so you only need to have fake/virtualsmc, input device kext, (lilu and whatevergreen if you want recovery/installation to use graphics acceleration for faster operations) because to my understanding, recovery and installation does not use kext caches(correct me if im wrong). Detect option as i understand is like this: if kexts are detected in s/l/e or l/e then not injected via other, if not detected in s/l/e or l/e, then injected via other. that being said, put io80211 in s/l/e and injector and fixup in l/e and fix permission and rebuild caches. if you update, you need to replace io80211 again.

if still does not work, restore what you have done with wifi, and see if the error still pops up. if it does, delete network preferences plists(search please).

its best for you to buy a broadcom module. it's not that expensive. in my case i can't only because the ar9565 chip is soldered.

You solution works for my AR9485 on my Lenovo G510.  I am not good with reading/editing config.plist.  Can you tell me what is in your config.plist which is specific for AR9485?  Thank you.

ATH9KFixup: (source code only)
ATH9KFixup-1.1.0.zip (Added High Sierra compatibility)

For AR9565 there is such a script:

P.S. the speed Limit is 11 Mb, I have not noticed, I have speedtest gave 24 Mbps for download and upload.

P. P. S.
Tried just AirPortAtheros40.kext (AR9565.10.13.v21) throw in /Other, rebuild cache and restart Hackintosh - WiFi is not working. Similarly, only threw a text in KextUtility.
Tried already working IO80211Family.kext (inside of which / Plugins contains AirPortAtheros40.kext) throw in /Other (in /S/L/E lay not patched), rebuilt the cache, restarted the Hackintosh, but WiFi was also not recognized. In config.plist parameter InjectKexts=Yes. It's weird, I thought Clover kext from /Other would put "on top" of that kext that in /S/L/E.
