Test, please, rev 3357. It has workarounds for Wolfdale and SkyLake CPUs.

I want to see boot.log. Or even preboot.log will be enough.

means that Clover was wrong very long ago. CPUID_4 can't be used at boot time.

Updated from 3354 → 3358, and began to notice audio distortions after about a minute of playing music.

  • It would be good to see the boot log.
  • Is your bus speed configured correctly?

I have some issues with an install that I have been working for a couple weeks and need some professional help.. I have tried everything

 

I am using 

 

DX58so

W3680 stock settings

gtx660

1333 3x4GB 12gb kingston ECC unbuffered qualified for the DX58so

Mac Pro 5,1 smbios

 

first issue.. if I don't set the ECC to on in bios, then clover at the clover boot screen picks up the w3680, and shows turbo states 26/26/27/27   and min max 12/25 good

if I set ECC to on in bios, clover still picks up the w3680, but says not turbo capable, has 0/0/0/0 for turbo values and 12/25

neither way actually activates ECC, shows as disabled in system profiler

 

clover is not setting my qpi at all, shows 0 at the clover boot options screen and this in profiler

I am using the toleda clover hda script and using a dsdt with layout 1

I get audio out from the internal port but I don't think that my optical is working .. I am not near my stereo but I plug it into a minidisk that has optical recording and it says no input source .. is that the right layout for a 889 using this method?

 

what is the proper darkwake for this board/bios combo?

last night it woke 3 times for internet access but on the last it hung.. screen dark, fans on and locked up.. nothing that I saw in console gave it away..

 

thanks in advance for helping me get this tuned up.. oh.. the only options I have turned on in clover configurator is kext patching for external drive icons and hda, not dsdt patches or other options are required or on for boot at the moment ...

Tluck thanks for taking the time but waking is not the problem that is proper behavior not sleeping properly or waking properly is the issue.

 

If I wanted to stop it walking I could just un click wake for Internet access. Drake wake is not supported on Mac Pro it's not waking for darkewake it's waking on a rtc for network access

Ok, I got back into the OS by using a fresh new config.plist. I have no idea what caused that KP. So if anyone knows, please, tell me. So I can avoid it in the future.

 

Now, my question is, shouldn't there be a resolution option in Clover GUI for 2560x1440? Cause right now, there isn't. There is 2560x1600. But not 2560x1440. And right now, it looks like 1024x768. But that's another story, and might be caused by something else.

This picture means you have wrong DSDT or wrong FixDSDT.

It was removed initially. I know there's no need for that. This was just "default". I got the same KP with or without those args. :)

 

Sometimes I feel like my computer caches the last boot drive somehow. Not sure this is intended.

 

Like if I try to boot from the HDD/SSD and I've got a broken config, and then I just restart (not shut down) and select a bootable USB drive, with a different (cleaner) config, it will still show the error (in my case the KP). Which is really frustrating, cause I don't know if my USB drive is actually "clean" and ok for booting, or not.

 

So the best way is to shut down the computer, and then try again to boot from the USB drive. Otherwise, i see no explanation to why it didn't work for many tries, when I was just booting into the OS from the USB drive, then suddenly, with the same drive, it booted ok...

 

Or maybe it's just the OS X caches... I don't know.

I am back into the system. No need to shout. :)) I posted this already on the previous page. Whatever it was (yes, wrong DSDT patching sounds correct) it's gone now.

I can't recall if kBootArgsFlagRebootOnPanic belongs to bootercfg, but if it does, it is disabled in 0x28 already.

Hello people, I need help writing a kext patch. 

 

Inside AMD8000Controller I have this:

Pandora has a "Base64 to hex" converter or you can also use a Text Mode to work with your config.plist..

BTW I guess you need to treat your plist has raw data and see different. An Hex editor? "Hex Fiend.app" can compare files to see differences (original vs patched).

I have tried everything in fact. I enabled Clover debug, there are no errors, but it is just not working.

 

I also tried to add the tabs and carriage returns in between the two lines, but the kext is not being modified.

Yes, and in fact you did it the other way around (it's supposed to change "5" into "0"). In any case, I swapped those Find/Replace values, and it does not work either.
