PookyMacMan
A little off topic, but if you're really concerned about sleep, look into SleepEnabler.kext for Lion. Otherwise, look up the DSDT patch. TheNavigator
@Pooky, I guess you don't know that we still can't get Lion to boot.... I'll do that logs thing and upload the logs now, then replace the Extra folder, then go back to my lovely Xcode after a long day of training for EOI with that stupid C and C++... EDIT: Recently modified/created logs are attached. I'll replace the Extra folder now and try. I was stuck at DSMOS has arrived. TheNavigator
The installer is stuck at the RTC thing. I can't remember what we did to fix that or which files ._____. I had to format it to use it for something else unfortunately, so I remade it with myHack, and it's stuck there. EDIT: After I searched a little looking into the Extra folder, it's the same as the installer's. I just deleted the NVClockX thing from /Extra/Extensions. That's all. Also, the PS2 kexts are there. ApplePS2Controller.kext , AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and VoodooPS2Controller.kext Shall I start deleting the graphics things now? eep357
Looking at the logs, your system did in fact boot and even connected to your wifi network. It did not indicate a valid display attached at port 0which was the only display connection I saw. Do by chance have an external monitor you can try hooking up? eep357
i see pookyman has written a FAQ on this which better outlines what I was suggesting earlier http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=278692 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828961 Share on other sites
TheNavigator
Yes I do. My TV if that counts, which works on Windows as a second monitor. I'll try using it and reply with success or failure with logs attached. EDIT: I'll do that then if booting using my TV doesn't work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828962 Share on other sites
TheNavigator
Failed. Also it looks like the logs you had were actually not the wrong ones. Those was the SL's.. ,___. Probably.. artur_pt
hello if u have a instalation of snow working in that machine, only use the extra from snow in lion install and i think u problem is with appleacpiplatform and iopcifamilly, use that kext from snow. good hack Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828974 Share on other sites
eep357
the correct logs are more useful Again, it mostly booted, arthur is right, you have many kexts failed to load that are dependent upon IOPCIfamily.kext which also did not load. I think appleacpiplatform is OK, prob modUSB included the older one already. You should have both of those as I sent them to you a long time ago, like page 1 or 2 of this thread , but to be sure just install both from your existing Snow Leo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828983 Share on other sites
TheNavigator
The Extra from Snow doesn't have a DSDT nor an SMbios. I have a problem with AppleACPIPlatform and IOPCIFamily, that's why eep sent me patched ones, but still they don't work EDIT: Well, he didn't send me ones to add to Lion Okay then eep. I'll install IOPCIFamily and AppleAPCIPlatform now and reboot. P.S: It would be better if you can login your google acc. TheNavigator
Replacing the kexts didn't work. I'll try Pooky's guide as I'm stuck at DSMOS has arrived. If it didn't work, I'll try using SL's Extra folder along with myHack's DSDT and SMbios EDIT: A screenshot of where I'm stuck is attached Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828989 Share on other sites
TheNavigator
Wow, it looks like Pooky's guide solved it! But I still can't boot I'm stuck at Resetting IOCatalogue. I've searched for the problem, found this http://www.insanelym...howtopic=271918 According to it, that error shall not be there. How? I didn't rebuild cache by the way so I'll try to do that now and try again. EDIT: Didn't work EDIT: #3, the same problem exactly. EDIT: I tried booting with -v npci=0x2000 Got a kernel panic. It looks like IOPCIFamily is causing some trouble. Screenshot is attached. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1828997 Share on other sites
eep357
that kernel panic was actually caused by appleintelE1000e which is ethernet kext, after are listed other kexts it is dependent on: IONetworkingFamily and IOPCIFamily, but does not mean they were the cause of the panic. Remove AppleIntelE1000e.kext, it may be a plug-in inside of IONetworkingFamily.kext. You can try booting in safe mode and see if it helps first (-x) but network drivers should still be loaded in safe boot 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1829021 Share on other sites
PookyMacMan
If it is from the ModCD, it is either inside IONetworkingFamily.kext or in /E/E. So you can boot in single-user mode and type the following: mkdir /bkupext mv -R /Extra/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntelE1000e.kext /bkupext If the final command doesn't work, type: mv -R /Extra/Extensions/AppleIntelE1000e.kext /bkupext IOPCIFamily can be a cause of many troubles. ModCD/ModUSB does indeed have EvilIOPCIFamily.kext, so that's why there were no issues there. I'll see if I can upload that... TheNavigator
@Pooky, I don't use Safe Mode. I use my SL's installation It was at /S/L/E/AppleIntelE1000e.kext I'll reboot now with -v npci=0x200 and reply with the result. EDIT: Stuck at nstat_lookup_entry failed: 2 I'll reboot and leave it for sometime. Who knows, it may change .______. EDIT: Tried booting again with -v npci=0x2000 arch=i386 , stuck at Resetting IOCatalogue. I tried booting it again on Acer this time, AppleACPIPlatform caused a kernel panic. I can't boot Lion even on Acer now. Just a little note, I'm using Chameleon on Snow Leopard to boot Lion. I didn't install Chameleon on Lion. Would that affect it? TheNavigator
I've just downloaded Lion 10.7, as I know that 10.7.3 needs some tweeks to work. Would it differ? If yes, what shall I do now? Just use myHack? TheNavigator
Just tried to mess up with myHack. Used "Remove Problematic Extensions". This got me nearer. Extremely nearer. I'm having a kernel panic now though. A screenshot is attached. I'll try to delete (and backup) VoodooHDA.kext and see if that works. EDIT: IT BOOTED!!! IT F***IN' BOOTED!! THANK YOU MYHACK! I DID IT!!!! Now I just need it to bypass that "There's no keyboard connected" thing Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1830435 Share on other sites

TheNavigator
X( Pooky, I DO have Snow Leopard STILL working PERFECTLY. I'm posting through IT.. I don't have a USB keyboard unfortunately. PookyMacMan
And, in the rare case that eep's PS/2 kexts don't work, you can always move ApplePS2Controller and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext from your Snow /Extra/Extensions to Lion's /System/Library/Extensions. Just be sure you enter the following Terminal commands afterward: cd /Volumes/yourlionvolume/System/Library/Extensions chmod -R 755 ApplePS2Controller.kext chown -R root:wheel ApplePS2Controller.kext chmod -R 755 AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext chown -R root:wheel AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276288-iatkos-l2-stuck-on-apple-logo-start-failed-to-get-acpi-path-for-provider/page/10/#findComment-1830719 Share on other sites
TheNavigator
I deleted those <string>DeviceSection</string> <string>KeyboardTypeSection</string> from /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup\ Assistant.app/Contents/Info.plist Will restore them again anyway and use eep's kexts EDIT: eep's kexts caused me to be stuck at DSMOS has arrived. I'll use Snow's now. EDIT: Snow's kexts got me stuck at the same point. That grey screen with just the cursor there, nothing else is. I didn't restore Info.plist though as I don't have a backup of it and I couldn't get one Neither I do know where to put those <string> things back. eep357
Maybe it was something else you messed with and not the PS2 kext. The ones I posted were a bit older, but I happen to have 23 others to choose from I'll dig up that plist 4 u, 10.7.3? or diff version? here's your info.plist and newer version of PS2 kexts along with voodoo PS2 version for good measure, don't use both at same time.
