At least five employees of Apple's retail stores have been fired after admitting to having downloaded copies of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard from the Internet that were distributed to developers at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference two weeks ago. "Dozens" more also face termination...

my take? of course they're downloading it. They work at Apple Stores. Macs are their life. I bet there are even people who work in Infinite Loop that have.... "borrowed"... a copy. What does Apple expect?

the thing is did they do ti at home or in the store? if in the store then no doubt there gonna get fired but even at home. they probably told someone else about it and the whole store probsbly knew then someone went and reported to the store manager.

That topic has the answers to those questions in it.

To me this is stupid. I mean yes, it is stealing but good God, they are Apple employees and loyal Apple fans. They are excited about the OS and I think some slack should be granted. I mean they did pick running Leopard over Vista. Now if they were found out, I would tell them to legal up when Leopard is released, NOT show this to customers and have Leopard in the stores. I mean come on, the WWDC developers are ok to have this (and leak it to the net) but your employees that are loyal to you can't? Damn Apple, use your brain.

The question I ask is this.

How many of those employees are going to keep buying Macs after being fired?

Seconded. On every word.

I heard that those who got fired had MENTIONED IT TO THEIR MANAGERS/OTHERS (:gathering:) as some moronic bragging ritual or something. :D:help::laser::blowup::stretcher:

If that's the case, all arguments about other things aside, that was just STUPID AS HELL! :withstupid:

The smileys tell the story well, I think.
