manifold_family
Hi, The driver is not out yet, but they told me they are working on it. I have a shuttle SB83G which works very nice apart from having no internal wireless working yet, nor the wired networking. I am having to use a DWL G122 b1 usb adapter in the mean time, which is not as tidy, although works very well.

Zydas and Edimax (uses Zydas chipsets on wireless products) mailed me 2 types of Tiger drivers, both just recently created. Neither of them worked. I'm hoping to get more feedback from Zydas support on a more current compiled driver for x86.

domino
Here is the latest I hot from Zydas. Looks like we're going to be waiting for some time. I really hope they pull something out of a hat sooner though. Thanks for your regard at ZyDAS WLAN solution. Our R&D are preparing to develop ZD1211 base on Intel X86 of Apples OS X , but we encounter a big issue that the Intel X86 of Apples OS X is too new type to buy it. As we know, It will be popular at middle of next year, so we will buy the platform at that time. Regards, Robert

robodex
Hate to bump a really old topic, but I'm having problems with the zydas x86 drivers. Attempting to load them gives me this error: 25EthernetUserClient_ZD1211 is not compatible with its superclass, 12IOUserClient superclass changed? kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/ZD1211Mac.kext/ load failed for extension /System/Library/Extensions/ZD1211Mac.kext (run kextload with -t for diagnostic output) Googling for the error, I've found that this has to do with something about the drivers not being universal. Is there anyone who has had success getting the ZD1211 working with osx86? Running 10.4.4 by the way.

Tek_No
I just got a Belkin F5D7050: it's a V4000 So the RALINK drivers don't work... Checked some Linux sites to find out that v4000 is using the Zydas 1211 chipset as well... As we're almost june 2006 in the mean time and Intel based Macs are general available everywhere in the world: any news from the Zydas guys??? What about their X86 compiled drivers???? Take care, Tek_No

thatguygriff
I have an inexq UR055g USB wireless card that uses the ZD1211 chip, Zydas drivers work in linux and windows, however this driver does not seem to recognize my card. I tried adding my device and vendor id's to the Info.plist but it did not seem to help.
limbohz
i have an belkin f5d5070 v4 which is supposedly based on the zydas 1211 chipset. i installed the new driver v4.5 on my osx86 box posted on may 30, 2006 on the zydas website and had no luck. will try it on my macbook and see if it works edit: didn't work on my macbook either. Tek_No
Got it working on a Belkin f5d5070 v4000 Here's how to do it: - download the driver dated 30th of may this year - install it (select Mac Os X 10.4 not Mac Os X 10.3) - this will install TWO drivers for the two chipsets - for my Belkin I deleted the ZD1211Mac.kext and kept the ZD1215Mac.kext - edit the INFO.PLIST inside the kext to read (idProduct and idVendor changed): ... <key>IOKitPersonalities</key> <dict> <key>01</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.ZyDAS.driver.ZD1211RevB</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>com_ZyDAS_driver_ZD1211RevB</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOUSBDevice</string> <key>IOUserClientClass</key> <string>EthernetUserClient_ZD1211RevB</string> <key>idProduct</key> <integer>28764</integer> <key>idVendor</key> <integer>1293</integer> </dict> </dict> ... - as you can see I also deleted all the other keys as we don't need these - open up terminal: su cd /System/Library/Extensions chmod -R 755 ZD1215Mac.kext chown -R root:wheel ZD1215Mac.kext - in /System/Library delete the two kext cache files - Disk Utility - Repair Permissions - Shutdown - insert your USB stick - boot Os X - the WLAN utility will now detect your Belkin USB 2.0 WLAN - make the changes to reflect your WIFI setup (WEP, Infrastructure, etc...) - in System Preferences - Network activate the new detected ethernet (for me it is "en1") - use DHCP etc... Enjoy Take care, Tek_No
