Base 13: Base 13 is a nonstandard positional numeral system. It may also be called tredecimal or tridecimal. As its names state, it uses 13 different digits for representing numbers. Suitable digits for base 13 could be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, E and T (similar to base 12) or 0-9, A, B and C (similar to base 16). Base 13 is not used in any practical situation.

Regarding 42...

The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do' I typed it out. End of story.

Not true... that is the answer to the ultimate question...

While the ultimate question is what is 7 * 6... the answer is still somehow 42... base 13 anyone?
