I really do not know

Sorry

oh well, i learned to live without it anyway, i will try to work on a solution for it,

strange thing is sometime it does wake up, and sometime don't..

i now put back platformuuid and the flag back again

i tired to do several sleep, for 1,2 and 10 minute sleeps, seems ok, i will try later for longer time and will post results

the ideal is to use a clean install and going straight to this method

if you find a solution

post here to let everyone know :(

Thank you for your answer !

I have removed ElliottForceLegacyRTC and EvOreboot kexts successfully.

Unfortunately, if i remove NullCPUPowerManagement, i get Kernel Panic at boot.

I installed your Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r653.pkg and added these lines to com.apple.boot.plist but no luck.

<key>EnableC4State</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GenerateCStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GeneratePStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

I removed sleepenabler.kext too unfortunately it sleeps but not waking up and fans are still working.

I hope you can answer.

All the best

Thanks

-ElliottForceLegacyRTC ---> you do not need it, see the device rtc

-EvOreboot ---> shutdown in DSDT / restart --> chameleon RC5

-NullCPUPowerManagement ---> kext that disables the power management, see first post(CHAMELEON rc5)

-SleepEnabler ---> power management + USB fix(sleep without kext)

use HD for testing

try to find the best that the hardware can offer you

Here is my DSDT, actually you patched it before from Post #616

My motherboard is TYAN S5396 with 2 x Intel Xeon

Is sleepenabler problem related with HPET too ?

Great help by the way !!

Thanks

not sure, but i think it's my psu, it's 500w and been using it for 3 years now, i have heavy hardware for it, all the spec i mentioned before + 3 HDD + USB Midi Keyboard + the wireless adapter. i need to replace it anyway so i will go buy a 650W one and post result,

also its happening sometimes right away, no need for heavy sleep.(don't expect for solution just posting what i have experienced)

anyway, you think it could be the problem?

Nope

send me

cat /var/log/kernel.log

grep Wake /var/log/kernel.log

i also did now a fresh clean install, on the post installation i have noticed a kext called IOATAFamily, i didn't install it this time and not checked so much but it seems everything is working, i will post result with this one either tomorrow

anyway here is the logs

oh, when going throe the log, iv'e noticed the non wake parts are simply not included,

i will tell you the time line so you know what to focus on,

on Dec 11 04:06:31 i started my test with a timer. doing all kind of intervals, between 10 sec to 35 minutes

i remember clearly the last one, on 04:57:25 i have done a 25 minute sleep, got back and everything worked, right after (something like 2 minutes after) i put it to sleep for 35 minutes, no record for it.

strange :D

EDITED LATER(after the uploaded log)

last thing on the log, working sleep part and right before it's not woke up,

on 08:28 i tried the last sleep, and nothing in the log

LAST EDIT

i don't know if this is also related, but the task "kernel-task" occasionally hog something like 300-400 MB memory, after a while of use.

tried some google answer like app called onyx to clear Caches, RIGHT NOW, 18 minutes from last restart, "kernel-task" is already at 211 MB. I'm going to sleep now, and will put my other installation in sleep for that time, will post result

I removed NullCPUPowerManagement and Sleepenabler and getting kernel panic! I copied DSDT.aml to Extra folder.

I added these lines to my com.apple.Boot.plist.

<key>EnableC4State</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GenerateCStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GeneratePStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

This time i booted with verbose mode. Here is the message about panic. I added latest DSDT.aml which you compiled from Post #733.

panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff7f8066020b): "CPU 7 has no HPET assigned to it"@/SourceCache/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-105.13/(i couldnt read this part because of photo sorry)

Debugger called: <panic>

Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):

com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement(105.13.0)@0xffffff7f8065b000->8xffffff7f88670fff

Thanks a lot !

I think i will do it with your great appreciated help !

panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff7f8066020b): "CPU 7 has no HPET assigned to it"@/SourceCache/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-105.13/

the dsdtpatcher (fassl)

has the option -newHPET

that generates an HPET "standard", you can try it!

I have seen some cases like his

I do not know a solution for that

your DSDT I just applied the

-SMBUS

-removed the devices not used

was ready

you need to see the screen of the KP

try with too

Hi Mald0n!

So I did as you said, and for my Gigabyte build it worked wonders. However, I'm having trouble with my EVGA build. I followed the steps, but now I'm getting a Kernel Panic when I book from my HD (Chameleon RC5). If I boot from my usb drive, which has Chameleon RC4 installed (from myHack) it boots, but it doesn't recognize my video card and the graphics are crappy. What do you think is going on? Maybe there's something wrong with the DSDT or the bootloader? What do u recommend?

Thanks!

must be the power management

i think i found my problem

i don't know how i didn't thought about it in the first place.

I think it a problem with the PCI PowerCore integrity with my MOBO,

it's some bug, which if the bios is not set properly, the powercore is somehow will have troubles boot itself,

this card have a leds on it, telling me if there is a problem (actually it's inside the PC not outside but still)

and when a red led is on, it will hang the hole PC (on windows it was freeze during boot or i was success booting but after 2-3 minutes the windows froze)

after fixing something in bios, this is happening just sometimes during initial power (when the computer was shutdown).

so, this is exactly what's happening to me, the sleep is actually a initial power up, so sometimes it's happening and sometimes not.

i think a PCI Express To PCI will fix it, just ordered one from ebay

hope it will solve my problem

thanks anyway for helping!

Hi MaLd0n,

Thanks so much for your hard work.

I've made a clean install with 10.6 on partition2 of harddisk

Boot from HackBoot V5.ISO

Run "DSDT Auto-Patcher"

Update the bootloader with Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r629

Install "Folder Extra.pkg"

Put DSDT.aml in /Extra

/Extra/Extension:

AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

FakeSMC.kext

IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext

JMicron36xATA.kext

LegacyHDA.kext

VoodooPS2Controller.kext

Every thing works, thanks man! CPU temp 23°C (wow). Sounds working perfect.

Only one question:

iStat 2.0 does not show CPU temps (no sensor?), did I do something wrong?

On other installs it always worked for me.

Is it fakeSMC or something with the DSDT?

http://www.box.net/shared/uo5rzioazz

Thanks in advance, René :P
