Seamless install too

Snow leopard reatail (updated via software update to 10.6.1 + 10.6.2 + 10.6.3 now)

Asus p5ql pro

Intel Core2 Quad q9550

4 gig corsair ram

Geforce 9800 gt 512 mb

Everything works as before including graphics, audio, real mac address...

Seems to me the user interface effects are faster, more responsive.

Open GL is fast and precise.

I took the plunge and am now running 10.6.3 with no problems at all on my Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 rev 1.0.

These are the steps I took:

(1) Downloaded the 10.6.3 Combo Update

(2) Removed SleepEnabler.kext from my /Extras/Extensions folder

(3) Applied the combo update

(4) Rebooted

(5) Installed the new 10.6.3 SleepEnabler.kext in my /Extras/Extensions folder

Everything works. Sound. Sleep. Everything.

FYI, these are the kexts currently in my /Extra/Extensions folder:

LegacyHDA.kext

PlatformUUID.kext

NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

SleepEnabler.kext

OpenHaltRestart.kext

fakesmc.kext

Failed with Core i7 configuration ! Radeon 4870 specifically

Black screen and netkas's tip to substitute ATI4800Controller.kext, ATISupport.kext, ATIFramebuffer.kext with 10.6.2 ones results in graphics corruption.

Updated in my HP Pavilion dv6000 series and without problems.

As said in this forum, Sleepenable must be replace to this new version works for me.

But any other problem.

Really one major update: now I detect the Airpot (intel wifi 3945). And the light is blue (active) nor orange (inactive) but I haven't get to making it working. :(

But everything went right.

No problem with the update.

Thanks friends for this page!

Initial update caused video corruption with my ATI 4850 card (as predicted) but reinstalling netkas's ATI4800Controller.kext and then replacing the ATIFramebuffer.kext and ATIsupport.kext from 10.6.2 resolved it. I swear the display looks better but it's probably just my imagination.

I also had to reinstall the 10.6.2 AppleHDA.kext to get sound back on my GA-P55A-UD4P but everything else is good (except for orange hard drive icons, also as predicted).
