    Disk Utility (patched_v2)

thank you thank you! Thank you a thousand times, I haven't been here for long, since I'm using a real mac, but, in need of help, I came back and I've found it!
  2. One nasty thing of mavericks: no more quick look preview of FLV files and quicktime won't play them, will propose conversion

Thank you Anv, that's good news for the Hackintosh and nervous one for the real Macs to update in short, much less prone to something wrong to happen but also more riotous to fix if something does. I take the occasion to join a choir and thank you for so much top-quality and reliable support you gave to all of us.

Thank You Joe75. did you make something to fix it, or did it come with the update? I still have to run SI as root to get them. I figure out it's some ACL or user permissions problem, miserable aspect of Os/x which is only source of nuisances, If no easy solution is at hand, before going through this, I'll wait final Maverick and restart clean.

GM Seed works perfectly with no issue and no patching, quite expected but pretty boring, not that I ask for trouble, but a little tampering is fun. Good news is that Adobe has updated After Effetcs CS6 which now works no problem. Hard to believe such a readiness from Adobe, It must have been really something trivial.

DP8 and no problem, it's becoming boring, but they're tampering with permissions System Information wouldn't give me extensions list if not run as Root from DP1 to DP4 or 5, then worked fine, now, it does it again. /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext/Contents/PlugIns/Accelsior.kext Loaded? am I wrong or this is new? I never noticed it.

DP4 update, it's all right, no problem, everything runs smooth and fine.

An interesting new feature is the "Energy" tab in Activity Monitor, Energy impact and avg energy impact per application in the last 8 hours

Installed DP3 via software update, no problem, all perfect, very nice, pretty boring (not really), fixed some permission problem I had (I could see the extensions list in System Information only accessing it as Root), complains about unsigned osxfuse, but only at first launch, glshacker codesampler pack all OK up to OpenGL 3.3 (that's what the Gts250 can do I think), Apple Software Renderer up to OpenGL 4.1. Of course AE CS6 still doesn't work, I still think it's a Kernel access problem, not a graphics one.

Indeed I've never had problems with CS5 & CS6 After Affects with many processors, OS versions and configurations, so the Maverick problem was unexpected. If something, I'd think to have problems with Premiere CS6, which, instead, works perfectly well in Maverick. Another strange behaviour came from DAZ3d 4.6, even if the installation program is garbage and proprietary, it did install in /Applications under 10.8.4 by default. Under Maverick, the installation program (the same) defaulted to /users/xxx/Applications I wouldn't be surprised if under Maverick and in the future, non-standard Os/x style installations would be send there, and it would be a good thing. The habit of these non-standard installations into the operating System core directories really should cease. A locked /System, for core OS and core OS only system files seems reasonable to me, but all 3rd party drivers and non-core application support should be excluded from there, even if signed. a /Library/extensions for 3rd party drivers would be welcome, hopefully we could use it as we used /Extra/extensions. To come back to AE CS6, the crash report is: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000010 VM Regions Near 0x10: --> __TEXT 0000000100000000-0000000100004000 [ 16K] r-x/rwx SM=COW /Applications/Adobe After Effects CS6/Adobe After Effects CS6.app/Contents/MacOS/After Effects Once again, it seems one of those typical (for me) adobe crashes on the Kernel, which I had seen on non-standard processors, specially with premiere CS6, though. But the Xeons 5150 of the old, lovely Xw8400 are perfectly macPro compatible and so is the EEC registered memory, so I suppose that maverick is preventing AE to access the processors in some potentially vicious way. It would be nice to have the opinion of some of the Kernel Wizard Guys, I don't know much of such things. Not a big problem for Adobe to fix, It seems to me or so I hope. AE CS5 works perfectly well.

Hey, Thank you! so I'm not going to get mad trying to make it work

Did you try CS6 apps? all CS5 work stable and fine for me and so do Photoshop CS6 and Premiere CS6, but After Effects CS6 crashes at start. I wish I knew it's either something in my configuration or an OS problem.

    Triple Display Mavericks 3 monitors?

I have tried maverick DP2 on: Imac 27" (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX) + 2 external 24" connected via Displayport the Hackintosh Xw8400 which has a GTS250 with 2 24" connected in both cases all Monitors work very well, with the iMac I have the 3 monitors all with Menubar and independent fullscreen, with the Xw8400 it's two monitors. It was time and all that screen space is finally usable Your card should work and it'll be definitively worth to have so much screen space once Maverick is out, with ML it's at the moment of very little use.

tested the Adobe CS6 master collection demo. Everything seems to boot faster! the only (very unfortunate) exception is After Effects, doesn't boot and crashes

Another feature apparently lost is the ability to drag an application link on the Finder toolbar
