NeSuKuN
My macbook is about to arrive and I need to find something to protect my little baby ( the laptop...) while carrying him. I hate the mayority of the bags I've found where I live. I need something small but useful. I don't know yet if I want a backpack or messenger bag, messenger bag is horrible if I have to run to get the bus but backpacks are mostly ugly and they are uncomfortable as you have to unequip them to get your mb! I there another alternative I can't recall? As I'm an anime/computers/role games fan, if someone knows themed gear it would be great. BTW, It's better a computer oriented bag? or a normal bag with something like tucano second skin? EDIT: I've found one that I like, but it's sold out. any substitute for this?: http://www.koyono.com/products/incase_sling/specs.html
Swad
Check out the line of incase cases - they're some of the best around.
pogi
I have a black macbook. I just got a bag from www.sfbags.com. They make one that is meant exactly for the 13" macbook. Believe me when I say.. this bag is awesome. I've had it about 2 weeks now. Really durable. I've owned 4 laptop "bags" in the past and they've all mostly sucked compared to this. Even my samsonite and kenneth cole bags. I highly recommend it. Here's a link: http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm They call it a "sleeve case" because its more of a sleeve converted into a bag. I added all the options like piggy back, strap and flap. Its great.
cavemonkey50
Ditto on the SFBags. I have a vertical orientation with a flap and I absolutely love it. It's built well, and very protective. I feel that I could drop my MacBook from five feet up and not damage the MacBook at all (I'm not going to try it though ). I'd get that bag if you're looking for something slim and very protective. bofors
Acme Made also sells sleeve-like cases specificaly designed for Apple laptops: http://www.acmemade.com/ Some of their "designer" fabrics are more than a little on the "girly" side of things, but you also can get the same cases in ballistic nylon. I have a black one for my PowerBook which in fact I also use with my Coach "Connor Brief" for more protection: http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?...category_id=537 One more thing, Acme Made also sell "iCovers" for Apple laptops, I have one and I continue to think it is a great idea. My PowerBook is spotless after three and half years:http://www.acmemade.com/powerbook.html
pogi
cavemonkey: do you think the vertical would fit inside a jansport backpack or something? my horizontal is just a little too wide... I guess I could set it on its side but i'd prefer just to get another one so i could easily take it out of my backpack.

It fits in the backpack that I have, so I assume it would work for any other backpack.

shadowfox745
the incase sleeve that sells at apple for $35 is probably one the best sleeve ive seen. Its good for any laptop that'll fit in there. I have it for my macbook and my friend uses it for his Sony Sz, we both love it.
itisme25
I would check out www.speckproducts.com This is a hard plastic case that stays on your MB all the time. I travel a great deal and this have saved me on more than one occasion. I have the case, a sleeve, then my bag with a cushioned compartment for the sleeve. They are also now available in colors for the 17" MBP instead of just clear!
DJChee
If you use your MacBook at more than just at home, I HIGHLY recommend getting a clear case thing that you keep on your MacBook. It protects it from scrathes and stuff. It actually doesn't look as bad as you may think, but if your really worried about what it looks like, you can easily remove it. edit - Yeah, what itisme25 said ^^
radx
I got one from http://www.applesac.com/ Specifically this one Very happy with it.

hot hatch
I just wrap my macbook in a sweater and put it in my backpack, but I don't carry textbooks or anything and I only take the laptop out of the house a few times a year, just for vacations and stuff. My girl wants to make a laptop sleeve for me though so I might let her
skinnywolf
Try Golla - they make the best macbook cases and bags I've seen. They've just released a new range of messenger bags, sleeves and rucksacks, so you've got every option covered. The messenger bags are great as they have pockets for your other stuff, and the sleeves have got a built in handle so they're more useful than most. And there's loads of colours and styles to choose from. SkinnyWolf Blog

Rufus T. Firefly
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...mp;mco=B7B20F69 I just ordered this and I'll report back! It protects the macbook pretty well however traveling with your magsafe and power cord can be a bit bother some. Although a nice externel and mighty mouse fit rather nice in the pouches. Not much room for a book but if you have a notebook you can easily fit it in. 7/
sdsviet
i myself just got the north face surge laptop backpack. it works great because it has a separate compartment for my 15 mbp. i did a review on mac rumors. u can read it there. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=476779

Mactacular
I have to chime in here and put in another vote for the Waterfield Designs bags. The quality and customer service are both off the charts. Perhaps it is because they are made in the US (as is their customer service). I get their cases for all my gear. Serious thumbs up!
