i just bought a new desktop, i'll consider the new ibook....we'lls ee

Been using Windows all my life... played with Linux also, which is a nice OS.... I remember a while ago i hated macs - then i decided they werent all that bad, but just not for me; just an over priced computer that wont run any of my software, and why would I pay that much for a computer that only runs a crappy OS like OS X. The closest I had come to using a mac was an emulator on my pc, which ran about 15x slower than the real thing. So I still thought OS X was {censored}.

When the x86 version showed up, I figured I would just install it so I could say I did. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get all of my hardware working so I can get rid of windows. Already spent 40 bucks on a new wireless network adapter so I could use the internet. So YES - the next computer I buy is most likely going to be a Mac, probably a MacMini to replace my crappy desktop.

I think if Apple could offer some sort of trial version of OS X for pc's they would get a lot more people to switch. All the money they would have to spend making drivers for the 8 zillion different hardware devices might cost more than they'd make however.

When Apple releases the new desktop models, I'm definetly getting one. I've had macs for years and just recently sold my G5 in anticipation of the newer intel desktops. My generic box is OK, but its not a true mac and I cannot wait for them to arrive. Hey Apple, can you say, "GOOD GRAPHICS CARD?"

I have just bought an AMD64 machine, and its sat in my Antec P180 case.

This is my games rig, so I cannot warrant selling it for any of the current Apple systems. If I can grab an Intel PowerMac motherboard (when they exist) - then I will.

Until then, I am stuck in Windows land. My next purchase though will be a PowerMac with Intel inside. OS X is the greatest OS ever, the power of POSIX with the support of XP. I was sad to sell my iBook beacause OS X was soooo good.

Steve, send a PowerMac our way.

I was looking into an older G3 to play around with Mac, that's why I'm so thankful for this project - It saved me some $$! The more I play, tweak, and get addicted to this OS though, I'm thinking getting a Mac laptop wouldn't be such a bad idea... I love OS X on my PC hardware though, so I'll always keep OS X86 on my desktop.

I'm PC user since my five years, I'm 15 now.... so It's too late to start learn me to use Mac :( I love Apple products, nice design, perfomance etc, but Mac PC's costs too much, I will rather stay with my "puzzle" x86 desktop... Anyway, I'm going to mod it to G5 case ;) Cause Apple design will be the best on this planet...

Maybe an I-mac 20inch but i allready own a Mac Mini PPC 1.42Ghz 512 Mb RAM and 40 gig HDD so im still verry happy with my configuration right now :D

I am actually saving up for a macbook pro 15.4" one (The $2500 version but I get a student discount as well) I ronically it was not OSX86 that convinced me to make this purchase but in fact was Boot Camp. The ability to be able to run OSX without having to used hack drivers and stuff is appealing and I do like the interface the ability to run windows pushed me over allt he way just because there are several games I would like ot play that simply have not been released on a mac and games lie WoW I have heard run slower on the Mac OSX then in the Windows XP install on the new Boot Camped Intel mac installs. So to me I see it like an all in one solution. The laptop is light wieght and sexy and I can run both Windows and Mac OSX my only problem is the fact that the touch pad still only has one button. But I have a wireless logitech mouse for notebooks that I can use.

As fun as it's been getting my Hackintosh to work, I have to say there's something to how "everything just works" with a Mac. Not only that, but the design is always so, chic :) I'll definitely be buying the 13.3" MacBook when it hits the streets, IF it has two button functionality on the trackpad. If not, I'll be pissed. Apple really needs to get with the program on that one, especially if they are serious about bringing over the masses from Windows PC's/Laptops.
