Martin

I have an on board realtek rtl8139

I installed the reltek 8139 driver by orByte and it did not work, it said it was connected but may not have an ip and may not be able to connect, i couldnt connect,(besides it still remained the saying the smae thing even when the ethernet cord was unpluged, including when i restarted it with it unpluged.

I am reinstalling IATKOS 5i because i tried to install "HDA GA-EP45-DS3R" apple hda driver

For Audio use HDAEnabler + patched AppleHDA after OSX installation.

for the Audio kexts. You can find "Kext Helper" or "OS X86 Tools" to install them.

After I finished I used OSX86Tools to modify the "About this Mac" box so it listed my RAM and CPU correctly.

Everything works just fine, including sleep, restart, time machine. Everything is recognized correctly by System Profiler and I just ran software update and everything updated just fine including security update.

Hope this helps.

What ended up happening is it made my audio not work at all, including trhe headphone jack that was working before i added the udio kexts

I also have a INTEL PRO / WIRELESS 3945ABG and i have been searching for a driver for it. It would be great if that worked, if i had to choose between the ethernet and the wireless i would much rather have the wireless because then i could also go online at school.

I would be very happy to know if I am selecting the right driver for my ethernet to work, and when I reinstall should I have my LAN plugged in or disconected and should I switch my wifi on or off. If it helps I have been installing everytime before with them plugged in. And are there any drivers that could possibley work with my wireless card

I cannot get this distro to install. Kalyway 10.5.2 installed just fine with no messing with drivers or kexts.

This one installed, says it must reboot, and it starts to load, and then says it needs to restart, no error. Just stuck in this loop where it keeps saying to restart.

What should I look for?

OK, I used the NVKush driver, and it booted, had sound, set everything up and everything looks awesome. Recognizes all 4 CPU cores.

But Ethernet does not work, either port. I selected the Marvel driver, that is what it has according to my mobo owner's manual, and I think that is what I used with the Kalyway disc.

Nevermind, got it working. One port was disabled in BIOS. For whatever reason, the one I used on Kalyway worked fine, but with this version I had to enable the 2nd LAN port and use that.

Seems to work fine now.

Someone help me on this! I can only see a grey screen.

I`ve installed the iKATOS_5i, everything went ok during install but after reboot I can only see a grey screen. I hear the intro music I think, and I have keyboard and mouse control (i can adjust volume). If someone know what it might be the cause please reply! I feel I am close to succed.

My laptop is Toshiba Equium P300-19O

-Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5750 2 Ghz

-3 Gb DDR2 667Mhz

- 250 Gb Hdd

- display 17" Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA+ TFT High Brightness display resolution : 1440 x 900

- graphic adapter Intel® GMA X3100

From drivers I choose the Intel driver for display adapter. Could it be the unusual resolution of 17" display?

wolsplatinum:

I found this in the Insanelymac Portuguese forums. I haven't got a clue what they were saying but there was a link to this driver for your wireless card:

http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...0.5/iwi3945.dmg

I have no idea if it will work or blow your machine up. Good luck with it!

wolsplatinum:

To actually see what's going on with Darwin driver development for your Intel 3945 wireless card you can go here:

http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/

They also have the latest OS X development drivers posted as well.

Hope that helps!

I´m using iAtkos 5i without any problems! Thanx once more!

I´ve changed the Beta RC2 Kernel to the new RC1 XNU Kernel successfully but i would repair Disk Permissions and in Terminal i use "diskutil repairPermissions" shows me the following line: ACL found but not expected on "Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist"

I have renamed the RC1 Kernel in root as "voodoo" and in com.apple.bootplist from custom also to "voodoo".

How can i fix the little issue in Disk Utility? Many thanx!

Martin from Germany

Thank you for this! I just got everything working and I am set up for full updatability (which I have already done without a single problem)! I have an Intel DG965OTMKR mobo with a 2.4Hgz quad-core and an ATI 2400 HD. I was able to use my kexts for the audio & video from my kalyway 10.5.2 install along with the latest natit from netkas.org (the one on the installer crashed my system) and everything's is working great! I even have full CI/QE! What I don't have though, are all my cores! I have to boot with the "cpus=1" flag or I end up in an endless boot cycle. Is there anything that can be done so I can utilize my full computing potential while preserving the fact that my machine can now be updated through software update?

Can someone please teach or help me on how to install the Audio kexts for my motherboard (ALC889a chip) into /Extras/Extensions? Which kexts should I use? or should I use EFI Strings? Someone please helppppppppppppppp!!!

Hi why did you not use an HDA Patcher from Taruga? I think you need the HDA patcher 1.20 and the correct Codec Dump to fix it!

Take a look: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859

But I want something that installs in /Extra/Extensions, but i dont know what commands to perform to verify/repair/tocuh the kexts, and how to re-make the kext cache for Extensions.mkext.

I have the iAtkos 5i DVD that I torrented. When I try to boot it, it gives me this error message:

System Config file '/com.apple.boot.S/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found

I tried a new DVD, and I tried redownloading the torrent file. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can make it work?
