NYC Coyote
Just noticed that myself. Honestly, I would wait for a Kalyway update pack or something of that sort. Why even worry, and do you need to be the first one on the block with the update? MetalMatrix
I've been waiting for this patch to fix the spaces issues. Gonna wait a bit before I update though. Had a hard time with 10.5.3 so I don't want to just jump into this. Cave Man
Has anyone went from 10.5.2 directly to 10.5.4, and if so did you use the Software Update or stand-alone 10.5.4 updater? Cave Man
Just Backup your extensions folder before doing this update..... I am doing a time machine backup before installing. Jiver, In the event of a Time Machine restore, can you just reinstall from the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, then use Migration Assistant to get everything back from the TM volume, including video drivers and audio patch? Or do you need to reapply those after the reinstall? I just don't want to trash my setup if something goes wrong... Thanks, CM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113290-1054-is-released/#findComment-801871 Share on other sites

Cave Man
It would be great if everyone who's been successful would report what they updated from (e.g., 10.5.3, 10.5.2, etc.). coccolino_dbro
Be more specific, people, or you might put some others in trouble... for example, I bet all who succeded were running a vanilla kernel; maybe other will believe otherwise and break their non-vanilla installs. Cave Man
Mac OS X 10.5.4 Combo Update (561MB):http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/mac...mboupdate.html This one should work with 10.5.0-10.5.3 (using Apple's standard rules of updates). Mac OS X 10.5.4 Update (88MB):http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1054update.html This one requires that you're already using 10.5.3 (delta updater). mitch_de
I done it with the delta (59 MB) Softwareupdate. NO PROBLEM : MSI 965 NEO-F; E2160; ATI 2600 XT I look everytime in the .pkg with pacifist BEFORE i update - so i can see if some of the critical things (Audio, Video, IDE,SATA ...) are updated. If found, i wouldt installit the "quick way". In this small 10.5.4 update : no changes for critical things for my system, except as always new kernel / system.kext But you need an CD,C2D or E21XX CPU to use the new kernel (vanilla) /. Or wait for patched AMD/Pentium D Kernel. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113290-1054-is-released/#findComment-801925 Share on other sites
NSCXP2005
I pursume people would need a vanilla kernel to install it straight from software update? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113290-1054-is-released/#findComment-801941 Share on other sites
