  1. Yeah I never chose the PS/2 install option. And yeah all the usb is enabled in bios. I'm using Leopard right now on same machine with apple keyboard. FYI. The apple keyboard also didn't work during installation/booting from bootdisc. I've tried every usb port as well. No luck.
  2. Hey guys my Apple USB keyboard does not work in snow leo 10.6.3 retail install with empireEFI and MyHack. Everything but that and fire wire works. USB2 works fine. USB mouse works fine. PS/2 Keyboard also fine. USB keyboard works fine when i boot into 10.5.8.
  3. This site should help you understand some of the differences and simlarities http://www.asy.com/fonts.htm In my experience it is best to have a 3rd party font manager in OS X. This helps you resolve issues with missing pieces for fonts, invalid fonts, and also loading fonts when you need them. Since having all the fonts loaded all the tiem can slow your computer down. Especially when booting up and launching applications.
  4. Hey I have same mobo. The only thing I can think of is maybe a hard drive failure or ram failure. Since you say you didn't change anything and its very weird you're not able to boot even with boot disk.
  5. How to verify QE?

What I do is I add a new widget to the dashboard. If you see the ripple effect when you add a widget QE is enabled. At least thats what i've been told.
  6. Hoping someone Can help me out Apple USB Keyboard does not work in Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Retail install via EmpireEFI install method. Mobo: ASUS P5W DH DELUXE PS/2 Keyboard Does work USB Mouse works USB devices work fine. Hard drives are at full USB2 speed. I have 10.5.8 on another drive and Apple Keyboard works fine as well. Can Anyone help? Thanks.
  7. I followed this guide and all works except two things. USB apple keyboard is not recognized. I have 10.5.8 on another drive and it works just fine. PS/2 Keyboards work just fine in Snow Leo as well. Also Realtek connects to wifi but nothing happens. In System prefs>network shows that it is active but cannot obtain a proper IP address. Wired ethernet works just fine. Any ideas? Running 10.6.3 from retail disc. Graphics, Sound, Ethernet, USB2 all work just fine. Thanks.
  8. no one can help me out here?
  9. OK I've searched the forums for this issue and noticed that a few people have had this issue but no one ever came up with a solution. Doesn't come up until computer has been on for an hour or so but Kernel_task process exceeds 100 percent and slows the computer down. I am running 10.5.8 Asus p5w dh deluxe nvidia 8800gt Intel Quad Core 2.67 ghz Two 750gb that are HFS formated. One Drive is a mirror of the other drive. No NTFS drives attached. Reboot temporarily fixes the problem.
  10. p5w dh deluxe

What method did you use to install snow leopard? I'm trying to find a step by step guide to get update my machine. Anyone have any luck with ASUS p5w deluxe?
  11. 10.5.4 is released !

Glad they released it before july 11th cuz now I'll be able to use my 3g iphone with my hackintosh on launch day. as oppose to trying to get 10.5.4 to work on july 11 now i have sometime to let others figure it out.
  12. 10.5.3 is available as an update

Anyone try it yet? Very curious to know if apple did something to make it more difficult for hackintoshes.
  13. Not sure if this is where to post since i'm new here. I can't get the Firewire ports to function I have IEEE1394 enabled in Bios. Also system profiler sees whatever i plug in however nothing mounts. Disk Utility does not see any drives that aren't mounted either. Is there something else in bios i have to change? I used Kalway 10.5.2 disc to install leopard. Also can't get LAN to work but i'm more concerned about firewire.
