keithoms
Ok, thinking of buying this off gumtree. The guy has listed it as 300mhz power G4. I KNOW that eMacs were built minumum of 700mhz. I txted him and he said that he got all of the info from about this mac. Do you think he has just read the wrong thing? Anyway, how does this look? Can someone shed some light on anything? http://theskyisnotblue.com/imagehost/pics/...e368bac37cb.bmp for pic of ad and pic of the computer. A Nonny Moose
If one thing looks wrong (the 300 MHz G4 is the one thing) then it's most likely fraudulent. westwaerts
with 300MHZ you can do anything uptodate. its wasted money, unless you run a historical computer museum. Synaesthesia
Best thing to do is to go check it out for yourself, and physically visit him if possible. Otherwise, I'm not so sure. iSkylla
The computer itself doesn't look right to me. I wouldn't buy it. Living in london I know how many people scam. Ever bought a hat then learning that it was only half a hat. Ever buy a TV that had all the internals taken out? I haven't, but I know people that have. drib
A PowerPC G4 doesn't even exist at 300MHz, 400MHz is the slowest G4. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107154-need-quick-reply-can-someone-confirm-this-emac/#findComment-761226 Share on other sites

sarahbau
A PowerPC G4 doesn't even exist at 300MHz, 400MHz is the slowest G4. They actually did have a 350MHz G4 at launch, when they weren't able to get the G4 stable at 500MHz. Rather than the announced 500, 450, 400MHz, they shipped with 450, 400, and 350MHz. But, there was no 300MHz G4. Either this is a scam, or there's something wrong with the computer causing it to report 300MHz. Either way, don't get it. PsychoSync
I know this is an outdated post but couldn't resist to reply. This must simply be a syntax error: min eMac speed = 700Mhz G4. Chris Mills
A PowerPC G4 doesn't even exist at 300MHz, 400MHz is the slowest G4. Wrong... Slowest was 350MHz.
