  1. P5Q & 10.6.1 Retail

Yes, tried -x -v and many others. I always get this problem. With boot file from chameleon RC2 I get KP, RC3 gives this error. I have a ATI Radeon 4870, which is supposed to be supported out of the box with SL no? The only thing I can boot is the v3.5 snow leopard boot DVD which is floating around. But when I install using that DVD I get the same error again.
  2. P5Q & 10.6.1 Retail

Doesn't work for my P5Q-PRO I flashed my BIOS with: 2102-BIOS-Asus_P5Q_PRO_for_MAC_OS_X_&_all_OS__incl._by_Juzzi..ROM and changed IDE to AHCI and activated ACPI2 and S3 Burned the BootCD which boots fine, but when I boot from my retail DVD it hangs after the following line: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourcematching(AppleintelCPUPower managment)) time out I have been trying al the possible methods for this motherboard, but I always get this error. It seems to be stuck somewhere.
  3. I have the same chip on my ASUS board. Do a search, a fully working driver exists.
  4. Silicon Image SIL 3512 SATA Comtroller

Hi guys, I see you both have a working sil 3512 setup. I just bought a PCI card with this chipset, but I can't get RAID to work. I installed using the Kaliway 10.5.2 which has the AppleVIAATA.kext with the correct values already in there. Is there something else I have to do? When I create a raid set in the bios, the 2 disks get unrecognized in OSX.
  5. Silicon 3512 RAID installation

Thanks for your reply, but as mentioned I already use the kalyway 10.5.2 DVD. I believe the right driver is already on this DVD because in the folder DVD/system/library/extensions there is a AppleVIAATA.kext. Inside that kext the id of the Silicon 3512 is already inserted. Does that mean the driver will be loaded when I start with the DVD? When I do ioreg -b -x -l | grep 3512 I get the following: | | | +-o pci1095,3512@0 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, acti$ | | | | "IOName" = "pci1095,3512" | | | | "name" = "pci1095,3512" But I cannot get the raid set made in the bios to be recognized in OS X
  6. Hi, I recently bought a cheap PCI 2 port SATA RAID card (19 EUR). It has the Silicon 3512 chip, which should be compatible with OSX. I have searched all this forum but I cannot find the way to install OSX on the raid. I use Kalyway 10.5.2, which has the AppleVIAATA.kext with silicon 3512 support. I already tried the following: -creating RAID set in the bios, but it is being recognized as 2 separate disks by OSX -creating RAID set in OSX installer, which seems to work, but naturally when I restart, the bios doesn't recognize the raid and cannot start OSX. Suggestions welcome! Thanks
  7. A PowerPC G4 doesn't even exist at 300MHz, 400MHz is the slowest G4.
  8. Acer Extensa 5220 - LOW price´n NICE

I had the same problem. Try reinstalling and deselect most of the patches you do not need (like all of the chipsets, USB correction patch...). By default, too many patches are being installed. I hope this will help.
  9. Acer Extensa 5220 - LOW price´n NICE

Warning for people who want to buy this Extensa 5220; you will not have WLAN since this laptop is now being shipped with an incompatible chip (AR5007EG). I bought the portable thinking it will be WLAN compatible, but it is not. Only the older models were shipped with a Realtek chip. Things that will not (yet) work: -WLAN -Card reader slot -IR -cursor buttons below touchpad -S-Video out -56K modem -LAN
  10. Anyone have any luck installing 10.5.2

I can confirm the netkas method also works for OS 10.5 Server. Just consider using the script to delete AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext during patching, I tried by tracking the Extensions folder which caused me a kernel panic. First boot after patch had to be done in safe boot (F8 at startup, -x -v and enter), installed the leopard graphics update and everything is fully functional now.
