  8. Yes agree. Do you by any chance have sleep working correctly on your machine please? No man, my machine is always on and I never use sleep. Sleep options on hackintoshes are always hard to configure.

  10. I've gone through that same exercise and found the same results. You can get HEVC working on iMacPro1,1 again by using either HEVCEnabler or dummy152 kexts. One targets the 580, while the other works on my 560 (they just patch different frame buffers). I think the only benefit I see running 19,1 is the machine doesn't lock up with safari DRM and just shows a recoverable error instead. However, I see other strangeness like the activity monitor app taking a long time to launch compared to iMacPro1,1.

  11. It has always worked. Open your config.plist in Clover Configurator and generate new serials then restart. I strongly recommend creating an installation flash drive first. If it starts normally then you are safer if you cannot start your current installation. About using the system updater, I always prefer to do a clean install.

  13. Sorry, it was the spell corrector. The right word is "updated". Take a test: Create the installation stick with your config.plist and the updated Kexts and see if you can start the installer.

  14. Hi @TurbineSeaplane. I have never used AMD cards. But if you already have a perfectly working installation on Mojave, theoretically you just need to update Kexts/Bootloader and keep the same config.plist. Take a test: Create the installation stick with your config.plist and the authorized Kexts and see if you can start the installer.

  15. Dang. Well I'm stuck with this stupid LG (bought it before making the Hack). I'll try to look into it when I have more time. I redid my system using 19,1 and couldn't be happier. The dGPU is still being used over the iGPU but everything works, even Sidecar. And the system is far snappier than on 1,1

  16. For me, it boots into a recovery partition because the recovery partitions are located before the system partitions on my APFS-formatted drives. I've tried re-arranging the order of the partitions in Clover without any luck.

  18. Well it requires a program like Hopper Disassembler to achieve it. Back when Catalina first came out, the patches posted by nmano didn't work for me, so I started digging in on how the other patches were done in Mojave by comparing, then I got the way on how to change those and have been making my own patches since as needed, in a nutshell.

  19. Success! Well. Got it to work with a different KEXT. AppleIntelIi210Ethernet.kext. This the original "10.9" kext, I modified the hardware ID: key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x15218086</string> Then I just renamed the file with "i350". DO NOT Place it in your clover "other" Kexts. Install in the L\E location. Make sure you don't have any other. "intelmausi, apple IGB, smalltree_xxxxx, remove them all from all the extension locations, etc. etc. Reboot and you're done. Catalina here we go! FYI Only for 0x15218086. I have not tested any other onboard nics. Good luck! AppleIntelIi350Ethernet.kext.zip

  20. Thanks tluck! Just did the dummy install with the hwsensors.pkg, nothing else. As said before, the hwsensors installer went through without hickup and PS2 devices did work, HWMonitor from Applications did work too. So far, so good. After restart however, my PS2 devices were dead, the OS booted fine otherwise. This happened to me with Sierra and now with Catalina. Maybe I´m missing something or its just a random issue on my side? Edit: Also lost sound that way, forgot to mention. No worries, I´ll re-install 10.15.1 in a minute. Edit2: @namisloc When installing the mPC!e SSD instead of a WWAN card, be sure to have good isolation for the WWAN antenna connectors. You don´t want slack metal connectors dangling in your T420 guts. I´m using self welding rubber tape in such cases, other solutions may spring to mind too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Reparatur-und-Dichtband-selbstverschweisendes-Multitape-Rolle-5-m/133025307978?hash=item1ef8ed1d4a:g:lacAAOSwzO9dpHWp

  22. Sorry mate, I was thinking about the WWAN slot near the RAM at the bottom, not the WLAN WiFi slot, which you do need to populate with some WiFi card of course. Some mPCIe SSDs from China might be considered, as 2nd or 3rd drive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vaseky-Mini-1-8-mSATA-SSD-256G-MLC-Solid-State-Drive-for-Desktop-Notebook-PC/114000223395?hash=item1a8af15ca3:g:tAwAAOSwyutcorpZ I´m using one of the 128GB devices to test drive Catalina.

  23. Clover can not know if NVRAM will work in macOS. Example is my Z170 where native NVRAM worked at Clover time but not working in macOS time. It was fixed by vit9696 a year ago in OsxAptioFix3Drv but there is another example Z390 where native NVRAM is still not working at macOS time no matter of AptioFix version. How to check. 1. Boot system without EmuVariable if possible. I know my Z170 where it is not possible. 2. If success then go to Terminal and type sudo nvram test=1 3. Reboot. 4. Go to Terminal and type nvram test Did you see it stored? Or the answer is nvram: Error getting variable - 'test': (iokit/common) data was not found The test will be successful as well with EmuVariable if rc.script/daemon was installed. There is a sense for EmuVariable and those scripts. Two things are not possible for EmuVariable: 1. Hibernation pointer "boot0082" 2. Variable "AAPL,panic-report" if you have KP with reboot.

  24. Maybe over cautious, but I prefer to keep a working and bootable Sierra instance on a 128BG SSD. CarbonCopyCloner does perfect macOS clones, just add tluck´s Clover files to EFI/EFI and everything should work. Do you have a 1600x900 display as well? To determine the display manufacturer, I found it easiest to boot from a Knoppix Live DVD and run hwinfo from Terminal. The manufacturer may not be that important with 1600x900 displays as tluck´s config.EDID-2e2.plist is working for me with both AUO and LG display. Office 2011 is working up to 10.14 Mojave, except for the nag screen about apps unsupported in future. I did not know that Office 365 became unsupported in Sierra, no surprise though. In case you do consider Office 2011 or CarbonCopyCloner best send a PM. In the long run, it may be wise to switch to Open Office or Keynote-Numbers-Pages. For Mojave you should best install macOS from scratch onto a blank SSD. Maybe consider a m-PCIe SSD too, if you do not need a WWAN card at all. Format a boot stick HFS+ and run Mojave Patcher with the stick as target. Don´t forget to add tluck´s Clover package to the USB´s EFI partition. After booting from the ready made USB stick, best format the target SSD as HFS+ first, then as APFS (Be sure the EFI partition has been created, as we need it for booting.) Finally let macOS installer do its thing. Boot from SSD to get through the Apple quest and complete installation. (this is with a mediocre 16MB graphics, but it works) Finally boot from the USB stick again and run the Mojave Patcher from Utilities, select a MBP 8,1 if this is not there by default. At next boot from SSD, GPU support should work. For your WLAN, please read here: Many here are using Broadcom WLAN, as its hassle free. 25. It just works natively as a USB device. No kexts or tweaks needed. Make sure you haven't disabled it in SSDT-XHC-T470.dsl.

  26. Found a small PCI-e SSD and installed 10.15.1 on it with CAT Patcher and the latest Clover package tluck has on GitHub. The OS runs fine so far, but the installer for my JMicron SD card reader refuses to work. Any thoughts how or where I could place the kext to get it loaded? JMB38X.kext.zip The SSD is one of these, but it won´t matter for kext install. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vaseky-128G-Mini-mSATA-3-1-8-Inch-SSD-Hard-Drive-Disk-Storage-Solid-State-for-PC/401927475375?hash=item5d94be90af:g:NCgAAOSwLm1dqzBm Edit1: Managed to mount system partition read/write and installed kext to S/L/E. Wish me some luck that it will load. Kext in EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts/others did not work for the SD card reader. Edit2: No luck so far. Device is seen by the OS, but no SD card is mounted.
