Is there a secret GUI in Leopard?

While I've been hoping for some changes over what they've shown so far, I think it might be a little late now. Wouldn't they have probably shown this off when they made the announcement of the release date? I'd be happy for a "....one more thing" though.

In the previews that are on their website, they don't have iTunes Scrollbars. But I'm sure they can update that through a simple Software Update. :thumbsdown_anim:

Would someone please explain to me WTF is with these iTunes scrollbars? I have no idea what you're talking about....

theres no secret GUI....what you see on apple.com and all of the recent beta builds is what you get next friday

Then Apple would sure release an unfinished Leopard. Leopard is not finished and doesn't look right with the Aqua scrollbars. I think the stuff on Apple.com is just a preview and the best (final look) is yet to come.

Why exists people who hates aqua scrollbars????????

Them are with us since MAc Os X 1 beta.

It has no sense replace them with the iTunes ones.

Leopard is again all Aqua. Leopard= Aqua without brushed metal.

The traffic-ligth botton are aqua. The normal button ("Ok" "Cancel") is aqua. The dock is Aqua.

Buttons in Mail e Preview are Aqua.

So scrollbars are aqua as well.

Some toolbars have now plastic buttons as in finder windows or Safari but there's yet a lot of aqua in Leopard GUI.

Yami Bakura and the others that think as him: your thinking has no sense.

I think that's wishful thinking. I imagine Apple would want to test everything by now, and I really don't think it's feasible for them to change anything (except perhaps the scrollbars). But no new GUI (that's what this smooth gray is already, did you think it was intended to mislead?). Don't get your hopes up, it'll be exactly what we've seen on Apple's site and mostly in 9A559.I was aware of Illuminous, but at this stage, there's no way it's coming. (Plus I think black for everything would be rather unusable, personally. It's nice for adjustment panels and such, but not for my core windows.)

I think you are the one with no sense

What the whole point is ...

"Will the GUI have consistent Aqua or iTunes type scroll bars (an option of either would be nice) rather than having a mixture of the two different types as in Tiger at moment."

Curiously, Apple seems to've kept the GM build internal... As far I know, that's a bit unusual.

But I don't think there's any secret GUI - much more likely it's an attempt to prevent, or at least slow down, piracy.

What you've seen is what you're going to get.

Leopard with inconsistent scrollbars? If they made the consistent window, they why can't make the scrollbars consistent? Either Aqua or the iPhone/iTunes 7 scrollbars but not the mix of both.

Leopard will probably look like this (iPhone Ui, image source: http://forums.appleinsider.com/showthread.php?t=79214):

they so have to change those freaking scroll-bars, Aqua does not go in Leopard. Its like pairing Paris the {censored} with the 40 year old virgin, they do not gel....... it ain't going to work...... its one of the things that needs work, thats that........ this is serious......

I hope someone makes a skin that replaces only the scrollbars AND DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL, NO CHANGES OTHER THAN THE SCROLLBAR FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... PLEASE.

Should be super easy to do since the scroll bars are already made, the only thing that probably wont happen is a skin that only changes the scroll bars. For some reason skin makers just love making their own "improvements" to things that dont need improving, like all those "leopard" skins with weird custom changes like square corners or different buttons or no gradients.

What is the source of that info? (That was a rhetorical question)

I think it is fair to say that none of us know what Apple has up their sleeves. A slightly altered UI (or a unified UI with consistent scroll bars, etc*) is very possible, it is also possible that what you see is what you get. I wouldn't bet on anything at this point, as a few people have pointed out, they have kept the Golden Master internal, which leads me to believe that they might have another surprise for us. It is also possible that their only motivation for doing this is to slow down piracy. Very few people know for sure.

The speculation here is ridiculous. Really, would Apple release a whole new GUI without beta-testing it, or giving developers a chance to prepare it? And develop another GUI style just as a "red herring"? Honestly, what you see is what you get. Period. Nothing further.

I'm not sure what Apple's reasons for keeping the GM private is, but piracy would certainly be high on my list.
