XPC does not like Asus MoBos :-( ... perhaps you try booting from a usb stick or DVD ...

Hmpf, board is rock solid and works 100% ... till now ... i installed XPC to a Verbatim 4 GB USB Stick, which i´m currently booting of. Perhaps hdd is connected to JMicron port? Hmmm, will have to figure out ...

Hi again,
I've redone all from beginning... I restored basesystem.dmg to and external hard disk and then copied packages files to System/Installation/Packages
Now when I try to boot with xpc it hangs at loading the extensions caches... Only the caches not all the kexts!

What can I do?

P.S.
Yeah, I have an Asus MB... grrr

Go stuck there, too first:

boot into your install and delete the extensions.mkext file from startup (14,7 MB)

In my case it loads all extensions, then just reboots instantly like stated before :)

Success with #####!

Had success with ##### bootloader (mitch_de postet link)

1)Install ##### to USB flash

Download DuetToHDD (DL Link: http://rapidshare.co...9/DuetToHdd.zip)
Run Terminal, pull DuetToHdd into Terminal
space
Wirite /dev/rdiskXsY //where X and Y points to your USB Stick!
space
pull Efildr20 from mitch_de's link into Terminal
copy efi folder and Efildr20 from mitch_de's link to your USB Stick
copy DSDT to its folder in efi dir

2) Mount 10.7 image

in Terminal:
open /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg

3) Restore “Mac OS X Base System” to a partition (diskutility) //You should have 2 free Partitions: 1 for Installation Files ond another for the System should be installed.

5)Remove “Packages” alias from System/Installation on that partition

6)in Terminal: cp -R /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System/System/Installation

7)Reboot, start ##### from USB Stick, press M, enter following data: //Resolution can be changed with U and D!!!
Board Serial: Mac-F4208DA9
Kernel Arguments: -v -s
You can add arch=i386 or arch=x86_64
Choose installer partition, hit Enter
In singleuser mode:
mount_hfs /dev/diskXsY /tmp, where diskXsY – partition that has fakesmc.kext
chown -R root:wheel /tmp/fakesmc.kext
kextload /tmp/fakesmc.kext
umount /tmp
exit
Install Lion
After reboot start your SL and make this changes on the drive where Lion where installed:
Rename or delete this file: /System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist
Reboot and start from USB
Choose Lion and do the same as before in Singleuser mode
After this first boot install fakesmc with kext utility!

My Hardware:
MSI X58 Pro-E

NVIDIA GTX 285

Good Luck!

@blade5502 - your instructions are just what users here are after and ##### did make it easier for me than using XPC.

Of course, all credit goes to usr-sse2 for enabling the first Lion hack!

Boots just fine here ;)

iBoot (the edk2 based boot manager by OS_Ninja and Ujen, not the boot CD by TonyMac) boots Lion on my Acer Aspire 5920. No luck on Asus P5E yet.

Here is my USB Image - just restore with disk utility
http://rapidshare.co...8/EFI_FAT32.dmg

You have to change config: Add singleuser mode kernel flag (-s)

EDIT: Keys for change bootloader config:
OptionKeys: Display GUI = W
			Detect Volumes = V
					 Generate AML	= G
			Reset System	= R
			Initialize Shell = K
			Shutdown		= S
			Set Boot Drive	= B
			Select			= return
			System Menu = M
			About Box = A
			Patch Smbios = P

Resolution: Down = D
			Up	 = U

@shine-away - put your dsdt.aml in the /efi/acpi/oem folder for #####, or for those using XPC, put it in /efi/xpc

-_-
I thought it was not working, but it's inverted, even on trackpad.

DSDT patching in iBoot is not working for me (it doesn't load patched DSDT.aml).

SL kexts work fine (FakeSMC, VoodooPS2).

X3100 ones, as in Snow, 32 bit only.

Just an fyi on the new reverse scrolling: I heard this can be disabled in the Mouse System Preference. Try looking there to return the scrolling direction to normal.

Das Image ist nicht Bootbar wenn ich es mit den Festplatten-Dienstprogramm auf ein USB-Stick wiederherstelle!

The image is not bootable when I restored them using the Disk Utility on a USB stick!
