Mac OS X Leopard 9A527

The verions seem to be coming pretty quickly as the day for going gold approaches. Apple has just seeded another build of Leopard to developers, this time it's 9A527. There seems to be only a short list of changes/fixes, when compared to the previous builds.

 

Apple is still actively seeking developer input in certain key areas of the OS. They began this input in the previous build, and are continuing it onto this one as well.

The new menu bar looks awesome! (And I didn't even have a problem with the one in the WWDC Beta.)

 

I'm confused though. Why has Apple so close to going gold in Leopard swung 180 degrees and changed the look of the toolbar buttons in preview to a more glossy look. Seen in this screenshot of preview. http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture2cl5.png

 

I definitely like it, but hasn't like every other app changed to the iTunesish toolbar button look. (a grey gradient that really indents when pressed)

 

It would be too late in the development process to expect Apple to change all the apps' toolbar buttons to reflect this new look... Shame too...

I hope they change the colour a bit more. I dont like the dark greyish look. I prefer the White Grey more.

Wow, it seems that Apple will make the logo black everywhere now ...

At that large size the lack of showing the wire mesh of the lower back of the empty trash basket really sticks out (for me). :P Not that it'll be common to display at that large on screen but the illusion is pierced for me now. Wonder how big the icon has to be before a significant number of people notice when looking at it?
