It has been announced that the iPhone will be available in France in less than a week, on November 29th. The iPhone will go on sale for 399€. As the French law states, customers will be able to unlock their iPhone for free six months after their purchase but Orange will allow them to do that before that date for a 100€ charge. The iPhone's rates seem to be very competitive, as with the plans in the other countries.
