Like I mentioned last week, I thought it’d be a good time to formally introduce myself to our community. You’ve known me as “Mashugly” and “Mash” for well over a year now, and now that a lot of you are my good friends, I wanted to let you know a little more about me.

 

My name is Jason Swadley and I’ll be graduating from Drury University in May with dual degrees in Political Science and Speech Communication. Feel free to call me by my full name, but all my friends call me “Swad.” I live in Springfield, Missouri, a fairly large city in the middle of the U.S. and in one of the most beautiful parts of the country (the Ozarks). Like I mentioned in our introduction thread, I have a wide variety of interests – I love music, the outdoors, baseball, technology, philosophy, etc.

 

The name “Mashugly” came from our high school production of the play M*A*S*H. My character’s nickname was “Ugly” – hence Mashugly. The character’s real name in the play was John Black, which was the pseudonym I’ve been using for the site until now.

 

So, that’s me – I’m not really anyone terribly special, just someone who realized that it’d be great to have a place to talk about Intel and x86 based Macs. I hope this site has brought you as much fun as it has me.

 

Here’s to many more years for the work Mashugly started.

Glad to meet you Jason! Great forum you have here!!! Thanks to your forum I learned a lot about this beautiful OS, and , who knows, may be i buy a Mac myself...

I found here everything i need in order to make myself comfortable with this OS!

Yeah, that's a ridiculous picture - they told me to be goofy, so I was. Sadly it's the one they used. It also shows me in all my college-student-with-the-"I'm-a-Junior-but-I-still-have-the-Freshman-Fifteen" glory... I'll post a better pic later this week

 

Oh, and you guys have way too much time on your hands. :)

Holy hell guys. Im only 20 and I feel freakin old. So now I get when the radio plays those Mac vs PC parodies. And the Mac guy goes "Well Im too busy getting chicks cause Im young and hip". Well, we best not let any child molesters on here, they would be breaking their restraints from staying away from little kids...

Heh.. funny how people can remember things so vividly but wrongly huh? My gf insists the cartoon dastardly and muttley were in had a theme song which went 'catch the pidgeon'..... she would even sing it. but its 'stop the pidgeon' of course...

For those curious, Drury was started by congregationalists from the East (and not those other guys from the East) much like Harvard, Yale, and almost every other early US university. While it still maintains ties to the church, it's a secular university (also much like Harvard, Yale).

 

It's one of the best universities in the Midwest and it happened to be down the street from me. That, along with a full ride, made it a sure bet. :)

Harvard, Yale and ... umm, Drury? Come on now... this is a small time liberal arts college, it is not a real university, not even close.

 

It should be compared to the likes of Albion, Hope, Oberlin, Kalamazoo, Ohio Wesleyan and such: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Lakes_College_Association

I really don't know what your problem is but it's getting tiring reading posts from you that all mean to insult or offend people.

yeah, it doesn't matter where you got to college swad, but you created this awesome forum, so that's much better than being able to say "i went to harvard", becuse you can say "i created insanelymac", i mean, that's so much cooler than going to yale or harvard
