For a long time, FireFox has had this UI that doesn't really doesn't fit in with Mac OS X's UI. Today, Alex Faaborg revealed that the next version of FireFox, 3.0, will have a more Mac OS X like User Interface. It will have the same unified UI that Leopard has and will work with both Leopard and Tiger.

I hope it gets native widgets too. I'd actually use Firefox on OS X if it felt like an OS X app rather than a random app from another OS which just happens to work on OS X. I'm {censored} of Safari and it's magic rainbow wheel of doom

It really annoys me how 'Options'/'Preferences' is in different places in FF on different OSes, but I'd prefer native keystrokes to FF having it's own which are cross-platform.

Can you all please just stop arguing. Every time someone argues in InsanelyMac, a Canadian high school student has unprotected sex. The future of Canada is in your hands.

I'm excited. I'd like to see more cross platform apps *cough* CS3 *cough* use the native Cocoa.

Screw Canada (literally)!OK, so instead of:

1. Firefox working faster on a Power PC Mac without having to search for "the version."

2. Integration with the OS X Address Book

3. Integration with the Services Menu

We get eye candy. Well, color me excited!

Consistency is very important with integration with your OS because it's the first thing people see. Lost count the times people moaned about the consistent look of Tiger, thats why Uno was so popular.

Yay!

Regarding this thread, I had no idea so many people would have a strong opinion either way.

To me, the look of the browser doesn't bother me at all. If it loads whatever I ask it to the fastest, I'll use it.

That's why I've been using Safari 3 for my old iMac G4. It outruns Firefox in pretty much every aspect.

Yes, Safari's a lot faster than FF on my iMac G4, even though my G4 is faster :(
