Mozilla dev Josh Aas (I wonder how many times he was teased as a child about that last name) has announced that the official version of Firefox for Intel will be arriving this March. The holdup? A few "minor bugs" with Java and Flash.

I know many web developers who would argue that Java and Flash are neither "features" nor "minor bugs."

What gets me about this is that x86 devkits have been out for what, six months? Were Macromedia/Adobe too tight to rent one? Or are they just going under the assumption that no-one will actually own any iMacs until around March?

Another thing - if Flash works in Safari (which it does), will "fixing" Flash break Safari? Will you have to wait a month after intelFlash is released before Apple release a fix?

Seems to be that if the couple of guys working on intelFirefox can patch it up the week the iMacs are released, why can't a huge company like Adobe? With all their staff, money and resources? Plain bizarre

Well downloaded and installed this new version, and not having much luck. I use Firefox fulltime and flash was not a big consideration, so a few weeks ago I downloaded the uninstall from Macromedia so I could use it without crashing all the time.

Well I downloaded the Flash plug-in and installed again, but DeerPark (or FireFox or whatever) still comes up saying plug-in is not installed. When I click to install the plug-in from firefox, it simply comes up as unknown plug-in. Any ideas?

The plugin you downloaded is ppc for sure and will never work , i'm not very familiar with the mac version of firefox but i guess it uses the system flash plugin, does flash still work in safari ?
