Apple Updates MacBook, MacBook Pros

Numberzz

As expected, Apple updated it's products today. Today Apple released the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros, featuring the newest Intel processors, LED displays, and more:

MacBooks:

$1099. Macbook 13" 2.1GHz / 1GB RAM / 120GB / Combo / White

$1299. Macbook 13" 2.4GHz / 2GB RAM / 160GB / Super / White

$1499. Macbook 13" 2.4GHz / 2GB RAM / 250GB / Super / Black

MacBook Pros:

$1999. Macbook Pro 15" 2.4GHz / 2GB RAM / 200GB 5400RPM / 256MB VRAM

$2499. Macbook Pro 15" 2.5GHz / 2GB RAM / 250GB 5400RPM / 512MB VRAM

$2799. Macbook Pro 17" 2.5GHz / 2GB RAM / 250GB 5400RPM / 512MB VRAM

The new MacBook Pros feature a MultiTouch trackpad, similar to the one on the new MacBook Air. I can't tell if the Trackpad on the new MacBook Pro is larger than the previous generation, but comparing it to mine, it does look a little wider.

Right, i know it is cheaper, but why they hell have Apple kept that god damn MB combo drive!

I do not want to fork over an extra 400$ for what in my eyes is 1 additional feature!

Haha, oh, I know.

It's $500 on Apple.com -- what a steal!

Hey now, you should rest easy knowing that the $500 worth of ram you've bought is Apple certified "high performance" ram :(

Though in all fairness, I think almost everyone overcharges for ram as its one of the easiest ways to bump up the profit margin (aside from those "service plans")

Haha, yeah -- though I do recommend the APP, it's disappointing that Apple doesn't offer insurance like the other OEM's do.

I bought the 2.4GHz Penyrn and I must say that I love it!!! I had one of the older ones with the X1600 and this one is a major upgrade. The most noticable difference is the screen. It is soooo bright! I have not had any problems with heat (unlike my other, which I couldn't even hold on my lap!). I must say that I am very impressed with this upgrade!

Man, soo great news on reducing heat, how much it cost?

2000$ is including shipping, taxes, all expenses?

Just to clear some confustion the reason i mentioned blue ray was just to state the generation we are currently in. ie CD - DVD - BD. i was just making the point that they should at least put dvd burnder. Def putting blu-ray would drain the battery.

It's not about cost...

the what? its to get people to consider a mac. then when the look at the specs to step up and get a more expensive one?
