Unofortunately that money is for college. I think I'm gonna wait for the second gen. Hopefully those will have more memory.

t3mur, I personally don't although I could very well be in for a surprise. Considering it's going (only ?) through Cingular right now, that will really cut down on the demand assuming there won't be unlocked ones. I also think the price will scare off a lot of people.

I think I will wait till the 2nd/3rd gen comes out. It will be way cheaper and much better. Plus a 4/8GB HDD just doesnot cut it for me. I need minimum 20 GB.

Apparently no one got the message here that no other cingular rep can confirm the june 11th launch date. But here is what 25 cingular reps said:

Cingular won't be subsidizing the price of the iPhone, according to virtually all reports.

i'm personally hoping for a barebones version... widescreen ipod + phone + bluetooth and that's it... no wifi, no EDGE network, no camera

taking out all that stuff ought to cut the price in half.. when that happens, i'll buy one

I've read a few reports predicting that when it finally does arrive in Europe that there's bound to be stock shortages due to numbers being manufactured.

Does anyone know anything about the UK release and with what network?

I've been offered a competitive 18 month contract (never taken a 18 months contract before) for the LG-Prada phone - I was really surprised how competitive. I know it's no way the same as the iPhone but am wondering if I should take it for now. But 18months!!!! Nooo!!!

However,according to this article,iPhone release date may delay to the end of June or early July.
