haydio
The new MacBook Pros are not running snow leopard, they are running a later build of 10.5.5.
eliteinferno1
is the later release coming out fro desktops? and when is the release date for snow leopard?
kakadu
Very Short FAQ and when is the release date for snow leopard? Nobody knows. sooooo... any fixes yet?? If they were any solution, someone will give them. And the last one. Graphic Card from MBP isn't desktop 9600Gt. It is mobile edition, so kext from MacBook shouldn't work with this card. heliox
I made it work by following this topic: Rumpl + aqua-mac's pack You have to update to 10.5.5 though. As I mentioned there, after updating, I could only boot in safe mode. But I went on doing this in that mode and got QE/CI and normal boot at the same time without making extra procedures. CRP
Thank you very much. Now I have QE/CI
beriguu
Yay!! Finally got mine working with QE/CI. 1. fresh install iDeneb 10.5.5 v1.3 (custom checked appropriate options for my hardware. but no graphics driver selected.) 2. reboot -x (as in Safe Mode) 3. install aqua-mac's package http://rapidshare.com/files/155562098/NVID...rivers.zip.html 4. reboot 5. install NVDarwin 1.2.3 and CHOOSE Custom Install. Check the box with the correct memory size for your card. Example mine is 512MB, so I checked that one. (Thanks nz_mitch) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=125106 (Link is to NVDarwin posting. It's got new 1.2.4 release. I haven't used it, but people have reported that it works in place of NVDarwin 1.2.3 using the steps here minus the memory size choosing.) 6. reboot I wasted 2 days trying to do this originally using my old 10.5.1 to 10.5.5 upgrade and doing MBP kext tranfer, the Boot.plist modifying using gfxutil & osx86 tools, etc. Oh well, but at least it works now. Many thanks goes out to iDeneb people, aqua-mac for the 9000 series package, NVDarwin people, and those of you who posted the steps above. Cheers! NOTE: iDeneb 10.5.5 v1.3 users. You will get this error when installing certain software down the line. crizatu
Hi! First post I've been searching and reading this forum for 3 days now. Finally I got it. Intel DG33BU Intel Core 2 Duo 1,6 Winfast 9600GT Extreme Works great with sound and everything. Didn't test sleep 'cause i don't need it. After installing update 10.5.5 from Apple Website (not from software update) didn't boot, but i managed to boot with -x and then after installing the drivers it booted up perfectly and in my monitor's native resolution! So thank you very very much i really appreciate all the work you people do here

"<Stand><Stand><CarbonLib><>" Go here for the simple and easy fix. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132410 Thanks man, those instructions worked perfectly. Just to clarify for everyone though, for the NVDarwin installation you only want NVDarwin and the optional apps, don't install the kexts like I did in my excitement - ended up with artifacts and it was PITA! Fresh run through and it worked perfectly. Now, has anyone managed to get 2x 9600 GTs working? I've got one sitting in its box at the moment as I had to remove it for OSX! Nirva2
I have a laptop with an 9600 GT to. I would love to try to install osx. But I have some questions about the instructions : 1. fresh install iDeneb 10.5.5 v1.3 (no graphics driver selected) Do i just have to instal iDeneb without selecting ANY graphic driver ? 2. reboot -x Where do I have to enter or run this exactly ? 3. install aqua-mac's package http://rapidshare.com/files/155562098/NVID...rivers.zip.html For installing this, I should be able to boot into OSX ? But I havent selected any graphics driver, so will this work ? 4. reboot 5. install NVDarwin 1.2.3 http://www.mediafire.com/?iltt3ezn1uh Same question as above 6. reboot Thanks in advance
nico342
Hi Nirva, Here somes of your answer. So I installed that drivers without any problems, don't know about mobile Geforce but I suppose they are pretty the same thing. 1. fresh install iDeneb 10.5.5 v1.3 (no graphics driver selected) Do i just have to instal iDeneb without selecting ANY graphic driver ? In fact, you just need to select any packages that you need ,but leave video driver section blank. 2. reboot -x Where do I have to enter or run this exactly ? Want you're booting up OSX on that build the first thing to come on your screen will be Darwin Bootloader. You will have press any key and type -x in the boot prompt. If you leave blank and you try to boot normally you will have a Kernel Panic. 3. install aqua-mac's packagehttp://rapidshare.com/files/155562098/NVID...rivers.zip.html For installing this, I should be able to boot into OSX ? But I havent selected any graphics driver, so will this work ? If you suceed to boot with -x option at you login window you will see in red *Safe Mode*, that mean that you're using basics drivers with system access. You need to install first the Geforce 9 drivers package then to reboot. Next time that you boot OSX n olonger need to use -x switch. You just need to install Nvdarwin and to check 512MB in one of those options. (I don't know if mobile 9600 has 512 or lower). So, you reboot again and if everything is alright at next reboot you will get higher resolution / qe/ci etc..... Regards, Nico
A320
Figures, can't say I didn't know it would happen though! I waited, and waited, then plunged into changing my newly purchased 9600GT to a 9800 GX2, then 2 weeks later this! haha! Oh well, can't complain one bit, the step up to the 9800 GX2 was a great deal, not to mention it runs amazing with full potential/power with iDeneb's new 10.5.5 v1.3. Glad to see though that everyone with a 9600GT is finally enjoying some new results.
Stymie
Will this work on 10.4.11? I can extract the files from the NVidia 9000 package with pacifist, but have no idea where to install them. Then I don't know if the NVdarwin will even work. But I have hope.
