It took about 6 hours to install and try a few after-installation patches. The computer is now completely usable and stable (have not tested Sleep yet however). Current OS X Version: 10.5.2 Desktop Prebuilt? NO Install Methods summary: Kalyway 10.5.2 Partitioned as GUID, EFI v8 + Vanilla Kernel Motherboard : Asus P5B-E Audio: Works out of the box? No. Used AzaliaAudio, for HD-out only. LAN: Works out of the box? No. Tricky. Used Attansic L1 driver found in the forums. Used the self-installing package. The kexthelper method did not succeed. Awesome work by its author, I must add. SATA & IDE: SATA yes, IDE not tried. Processor Processor Model: Core 2 Duo 6600 Speed: 2.4 GHz Recognized as what in System Profiler: ditto. XBench - Using main 250GB SATA-I Hard drive in Test - 137.05 Geekbench 64 bit - 6391 My initial overclock was unstable as I used the Turbo Performance mode, when I changed to Standard Performance Mode, system became very very stable. At Standard Speed of 2.4Ghz System was very very stable. Ran it for over 16 hours with no problems. Will see how stable she runs over night at 3.0 Ghz. So far so good. Additional specs: Thermalright Heatsink Stays cool to the touch (with Yate Loon 120mm Fan spinning at 1100rpm) Standard Gateway Case. Thanks to you guys I have a fairly stable mac hack. Manufacturer: Dell Model: Precision Workstation 670 Motherboard Manufacturer: Dell Model: 0X0392 Version: unknown, not marked. Bios Version: A07 Chipset: Intel E7525. Audio: AD1981B and ICH5 AC97. Stereo working (select Azalia_out). No patches. LAN: Mobo Intel Pro/1000 MTW not working. Used Trendnet Realtek 8139D NIC instead. It came right up on the boot. Works great! No patches beyond that included in the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD. CPU Model Number: 2x Intel Xeon Nocona 3.4 GHz Recognized as: 3 x 3.2 GHz unknown Memory/DDR: 2 GB, DDR2, PC2-3200, 4 x 512 MB, mixed vendors, matched pairs (Samsung & Micron). Video Manufacturer: nVidia Model: NVS-280 Bus Type: PCIe Memory size: 64 MB Dual screen in mirror mode only, 1024x768 only. Resolution changeable? No. Required patches or bios flashing? None available yet. Will replace with 8600GT soon. SATA/IDE: Both work just fine. Did have to turn off Sleep for the IDE drives. SCSI onboard is not working under OS X. Firewire 400 and USB2.0 work perfectly. SH-S202N IDE DVD-RW works just fine, all burning supported. Booted perfectly from this DVD drive too. Both Shutdown and Restart work perfectly. (see below) Setup dual boot with XP (previously installed) used Partition Magic to create a FAT32 50 GB partition and labeled it "Leopard". Booted from DVD with "-v" flag. You must use a SATA DVD drive due to JMicron controller issues After selecting "Custom" (EFI v8 + Sleepkernel - this is the default), checked appropriate video driver "inve256"(?)
