kk i understand.

Tried boot after update but it rebooted halfway through loading os x.

omg, did you actually read and follow the guide on post #2? read the sentences that says

10-) Once it is finished, you can restart....

11-) Wait patiently, because it will restart by itself one more time before going into GUI

dont make me angry pls, read the stuffs correctly...

sorry... i misread, :censored2: its booting nowi think its booted but the display isnt working

check system profile, and report back what is working and what is not... and possibly reflect on you signature as well... so people can see as well, so in similar mobo/hardware config, you can tell others what you did...

Most are working the significant 1's that arnt are the sound and network

on board lan will not work, i told you that

sound i dont know why it doesnt work if you have choosen the stereo sound...

is not working at all? can you not see the volume icon on the top right corner of the screen?

@ hackintoshplease i have the same board and cpu as you, what have you got working? and what isnt working?my sound isnt how do i get it working?
LAN didn't work (I bought a PCIe NIC)Burner doesn't work (it's SATA).Other than that, everything is Kool & the Gang!I am having the issues mysticus mentioned about mounting USB drives.. But like he said, boot with them plugged in and it works.
if you want to use osx on pata hdd (sata to pata converter as well) , and if you get a pata dvd, I can show you another method without using nforce ata driver... so you can use it more stable, with one small problem a little slow boot only... but with this method, you will not use your sata drives at all... bcoz sata drivers are still not stable on nforce ata... so choice is up to you... slow boot but stable system later and dvd will burn as well as mount everything normal... or all hdds work but not very stable and no dvd burning stable....let me know...
I'm already on a PATA hard drive.. It's just the burner that's on SATA now, and my 2 Windoze installs... I do have an external eSATA drive I like to use for FCP though... I'm still not sure if you think the SATA->IDE converter would work on the SATA burner. If possible, I'm going to at least leave NForceATA going to the read-access to the Windoze drives and the eSATA drive. But if I could get burning going, that would be great.ThanksHP
how did you get your sound to work? and wot jack are you plugging into or do u have the full 7.1 surround sound?

It just worked. I'm plugged in to green jack. Haven't tried 7.1. I just use stereo.

maybe my headphones are dodgey...headphones are fine, just my luck i guessis your boot time long or can i do somthing to make it shorter?Mine hangs on a black screen for about 5mins before it finally loads osx

Hello, i got a problem with my Radeon 2900, if i select the 2900 kextes from customize while installing, i kernel panic with the NV kextes after reboot

(do i ever need those?) After manually rm -rf ing those from Extensions dir, my Radeon starts into GUI, and it actually works, but i see only garbage,

tried to switch the dvi's. Nothing, also reinstalled with some "new" kextes from network, didnt helped. I get either no Quartz Acceleration, or my Image

is completly screwed: color dots on black background, can see movement when move mouse around, eject button responds, so generally the sys is working,

but the gfx are renedered wrong

Does anyone runned into that Problem? Cause i want to start using my pretty machine, but without accelerated graphics, this definitly sucks

My config:

Mobo: P5N-E SLI (nForce 650i)

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6300

Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 2900 Pro

Sound: Works out of the box with AC883 Codec

Network: on-Board nForce Ethernet - kext forcedeth loaded, no logs, no error, nothing

Wifi: Zydas 2115 USB Key - working fine with the 4.5.7 driver i found on www.macwireless.net

had to put it in the rear usb ports, for some reason it has problems

when connected in front panel

It just worked. I'm plugged in to green jack. Haven't tried 7.1. I just use stereo.

durro stop asking stupid questions... It has been mentioned many times, most of nforce hd sound cards on board doesnt work full, only stereo and no input... your card is working, so stop saying it is not working or how it is working... it is a known issue!!!

long boot time issue is due to nforce chipsets, and it doesnt work well on every mobo! so learn to live with it...

if you want real mac experience, get intel chipset mobo, or get real mac, and stop complaining and learn to say thanx for once as well...

your system is up and running, almost everything, working now... so stop posting stupid comments like my sound is not working... my lan is not working... once more, lan and sound has known problems so get on with it and stop whining about them...

@synapsis: I have a full topic about 2900 card, check my profile you will see my topic... else, shortly boot with -v -x and once loaded, continue on my guide about 10.5.2 update on post#2 and in the installer you will find the 2900 drivers as well...

@hackpls: i will write the method tomorrow, done for today sorry...

I m done for today, so no more question answering...

Calm down,

I am very greatfull for all your help. I was only asking about the sound because HackintoshPlease and I both have exactly the same mb and his sound is working and mine isnt (not even stereo) i wanted to know if i had to install any drivers to get it working (he would be the one to know). As for the boot speed i was just curious. And i havent been complaining about lan... You asked me what wasnt working and i told you! and i havent mentioned that since.

Look, i don't wanna argue with u. 1st u don't really know when ur devices are working and when not working. Bcos u keep saying sound not working when it is working, for example! I guess u didn't check if ur sound really working or not at all... Bcos I'm sure it was working since the beginning and u r still keep reporting it not working... In the guide I mentioned about the network card as well I bet u didn't read it at all since u asked for it couple of times already. So first u r giving wrong misleading info !!! And u keep reporting wrong info since the beginning. Don't say how I know, I just know what u r doing and how things are working and how they should act...

I ask u to report what is not working and u r reporting error on things that are actually working...

it requires you to dd boot0 or boot1h (i dont remember exactly just search for guid) to fix blinking cursor after installation (aka bootloader is not working)

How do you dd? What is it?

I guess I never really tested my sound, it works onboard. Ill update sig..

Look, i dont wanna argue with you either, but My sound wasn't working and still isn't you are wrong to think that it is. Unless you think sound means hearing nothing. I have check to see if it working and it isn't. As for the network card i did read what you said and have never asked for any further info on it. I have never posted wrong info the sound as far as im concerned isn't working (no sound coming from speakers when sounds are being played) i said this not because sound was coming from the speakers but actually because no sound was coming from the speakers.

Im sure that you are very good at all this OSx stuff as you have helps countless idiots like me, and im greatful to you for waisting youre time on me but you are wrong. :)

check my guide on post#2 for copying partition to another hdd partition... check 10-16 of that part

durro mate, if you think I m wrong with what i say, why you were able to install osx right now, when you were saying bios is set correctly, it wasnt and I can guarantee you you didnt set it correctly to right hdd...for the sound if you see the volume control that means it is working... you just need to know the jack that outputs stereo on the back of the computer, not the front panel... it is usually green color jack on the back... but right now, it most likely will no work bcoz of conflict... I say you are giving me misleading information, wrong information and i mean it, you are not correct! bcoz u kept saying your sound is not working (it was most likely working!!!!) I asked you to install hd stereo, and u did, which means you have two drivers trying to do the same job, which causes conflict... if you cant hear sound through green jack on the back of pc, bcoz your misleading information, you made me give you wrong direction...i m trying to help you but you are giving me lots of wrong information..
@easykay: Look, first get the r3 if you didnt, bcoz I dont see in your messages that you really have the r3 or not, you are very confusing... You are not providing any proper information...

First install r3 as exactly said in the guide! Next boot normal, if it give panic or restart error, boot with -v, r3 shouldnt restart immidiately, if you choose the correct settings, apparently you are not doing anything correct... Once you boot with -v it will show you all the boot messages/errors etc during the boot process, so you can take screen caps and upload them and post the link, so I can see what is not working... otherwise, I cant really help you if you keep saying it doesnt work, it gives error, bla bla, is not helping at all... Just press f8 when it asks, type -v and press enter, it should show you verbose mode, so you can see all the messages...

Good luck

I'm currently trying to download r3 off rapidshare, the only problem being a throttled connection and i'm over my limit. I've repatched my iso and have tried it again. I told the bios to boot from the HD that I installed to and it then booted onto windows (seperate disk). It doesn't like booting off the mac installation. I could try botting with the dvd in. What do you suggest.

if you have more than one hardisk and have xp and mac on a separate disk, now you only boot up in xp, it's clearly that you choose a wrong hardisk ... or, you may try to use "chain0" method to help u boot mac with xp's bootloader, search chain0 in google, you'll help yourself get it done. gd lluck

got 2 questions:

How do i apply a PPF under os x to already burned disc?

Does the search function works for you on forum? Cause i get some error everytime since like 24h+

cheers

first check your bios boot order as it should look like this

1) cdrom 2) hdd 3) other devices like floppy usb etc...

next check the priority of each devices in their category

for example;

there should be a setting for each category if you have more than one device in the category

if you have two cdroms, you can make order of them to look

if you have 2 hdds, check that your hdd is on the right order (priority) on top of the list...

make sure you set it correctly, otherwise, it will check the first hdd in the list and ignore the other one... looks like in your case...

do this to see if you can boot of this hdd, first. next if it boots, you can set up chain0 loading for dual booting... but first make sure your hdd can boot from that hdd, otherwise, chain0 will not work!!!!

@synapsis: did you read my messages at all on this topic? how many million times I asked people to make a signature? add your specs to your signature!!!

I'm not that much of a newb, I made sure of that already. I actually used the one time boot menu. But it will have the same effect if I use the priority lists which i'd rather not change atm.
