Any ideas on my ethernet problem yet? I restored the original kext and I'm gonna try modifying the plist again, but it will probably still not work.

 

I got mine working fine. I changed the device ID in AppleYukon2.kext and installed this IOPCIfamily. I had to use iATKOS though, in kalyway the ethernet doesn't work at all for some reason, although the wireless works.

My ethernet is forking perfectly now even with no -x -s /no single user mode? or however it is called/

hi people!!

i'm new to this forum and also new to osx

i installed the iatkosv1.0i on my lenovo y300.

everything works fine except LAN,camera and wireless.i have the marvell yukon 83038 and intel3945abg

so i read all the posts and did all the kext editing

after the reboot it shows a message that you need to reboot.press and hold power

now i cant even boot up into osx and every time i have to reinstall it

so can anybody who's ethernet is working give me step by step instructions on how to make my lan work??i dont know how to use terminal either

please help

Will my Atheros 5007EG Ven Id: 168C , Dev Id:001C supported by your kext Chu Nan?..

I have a Presario with the Atheros AR5007 same Ven ID and Dev ID. I will be trying this. Based on my searches in the last couple of days, things don't look so good.

 

*Edit: I have tried it and it doesn't work.

Guardando tra i vari topic, ho trovato e provato i metodi proposti per l'installazione della PCI Wi-Fi Atheros 54Mps marca Intellinet (5001X+ o 5005GS), ma pur seguendo passo passo le istruzioni, non mi vede alcun dispositivo AirPort. Sono presenti sempre e solo la Marvell Yukon Ethernet e una (o 2 a secondo dei tentativi effettuati) Firewire.

Cosa devo fare per far funzionare questa C***O di scheda sulla mia Kalaway 10.5.2 JMicron patched ?

 

Attendo UTILI consigli o soluzioni.

My friend have same card (88E8039). Installed 10.5.2. It work with just adding hardware's ID in AppleYukon2.kext's Info.plist file. No need to replace IOPCIFamily.kext file from this post. Your hardware's ID should be 0x435311ab. Find entry for 88E8053 & change to 88E8039.

Hi there guys.

Noob needing some help :-)

 

I have an hp pavillion dv2000 with a 88E8039 ethernet card. I have installed kalyway 10.5.2 but network is not working. I followed the above instructions and edited the kext file then saved it.

 

Reboot and still not working.

 

Am I missing something? Do I have to somehow load the new kext or use terminal?

Update

I did the following

 

1. Copy the (new) kext files to /System/Library/Extensions

 

2. Open the Terminal & type the following Commands (hit enter after each line):

 

sudo -s (-> your root password)

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/[NAME].kext

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/[NAME].kext

rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/Caches

reboot

 

Now use -f at boot to force the rebuilding of kext files.

 

 

 

 

 

This worked kind of :-) Now when I load network under system preferences it shows ethernet in the colum on the left but it says not connected even though I have pluged a network cable in, also no light shows on the side of the laptop where the cable is pluged in.

 

Any Ideas?

I forgot to mention about boot with "-f" flag. Sorry. :rolleyes:

 

You manage to get it recognized but not working. Emmmm..... I think you need to replace IOPCIFamily.kext file to Beta3's IOPCIFamily.kext file. You can get Beta3's kext file from this thread.

 

Wait....Check this first before replacing your IOPCIFamily.kext file. You said that you boot with "-f" flag. Did you boot with "-f" flag after that? You need to boot with the flag everytime you boot/reboot your laptop. However, this is not always true. Like mine, 88E8038, don't need to boot with "-f" flag because the kext (AppleYukon2.kext) can load normally during boot.

I am following the guide for Acer 5570z and always get a Kernel Panic in step 3 after installing the current version of the IOPCIFamily that is posted. That is also independent of v2 or v4 atkos and default install or with other options chosen.

is it possible that support for Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has ended with 10.5.4 and 10.5.5? When updating from 10.5.3 to either one of the two my networks breaks down and it is impossible for me to revitalize ist again. Many people have this kind of Yukon network adapter, so could someone please have a (short) look into it? I'd love to help, if I can provide anything to speed this up, let me know. I hate using unpatched versions of OS X - but I hate it even more to be offline ;-)

Hi,

Are you sure your ethernet controller is Yukon-88E8056? Because it is not listed in AppleYukon2.kext's Info.plist file. I checked it on Kaliway 10.5.2. Can you post the yukon pci ID? You can obtain the value in windows....Device Manager.

Hi,

Can you post the picture of that kernel panic? Do you have firewire on that Acer? Kernel panic also cause by kext file that have wrong permission or ownership. You can fix that in single user mode. You need to boot with "-s". At Darwin boot loader, press F8 and enter:-

-s

 

Mount file system with read-write permissions:-

mount -uw /

 

Fix permissions for IOPCIFamily.kext & IOPCCardFamily.kext:-

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOPC*

 

Fix ownership:-

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IOPC*

 

Reboot:-

reboot

 

Boot with "-f" flag one time only to force update kext cache file. You also can boot with "-v" flag to view verbouse mode to see what is going on.

How to get full working Intel Pro 1000? (Vendor 8086 Device 109A) MotherBoard ASUS P5LD2-VM

Leopard 10.5.5 Stage XNU kernel

 

I also have that ethernet card, and the same (Asus P5LD2-VM) motherboard.

I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and everything works fine but the ethernet.

It does show up in the Network Preferences, but says that the cable is not plugged in, although it is...

Can anyone help me with this?

I also have 88E8040T but it doesn't do its stuff with Chun-Nan's kexts and edits of AppleYukon2.kext. If somebody got it work please let us know.
