Yay! Well it's saddening to see you post saying that you can't get it to work, when I KNOW it can work. I still don't know EXACTLY what makes the webcam work, all I know is once i updated, it did work. It still isn't recognized in the account setup screen or iChat though.

Does anyone know how to keep the mouse cursor from skipping down to the lower right hand corner randomly?? Plugging in a USB mouse usually corrects it for me, but it's done it like 5 times since I (six) started writing this dang post....

The webcam works, I corrected myself :(. In fact, I saw that it worked in iChat...

Btw, I think that the random mouse movement is the sensitivity of the touchpad... in Windows, at least in my model, I have a synaptics software that let's me config that. Maybe when you use the keyboard and write, without knowing, you push part of the notebook and that makes a change in the touchpad... that's why when you connect an USB mouse that doesn't happens.

I hope I made myself clearly, my english failed me in this post heh.

hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum,

I have a TX1000 tablet (model tx1001au "Australian version")

I have managed to sucessfully tripple boot with Vista Ultimate, Mandriva Linux and Leo4all4.1 AMD version

I repaired the windows boot files after the leo4all install with the Mandriva and Vista DVDs and this is how i did it,

have Vista installed first and flash the bios with the older Bios F12.exe then create 2 more partitions (5Gb for linux and 30GB for Leo4all4.1)

installed Leo4all4.1 using the advice from this thread

1. Remove Firewire

2.Chipset> nforce test only(uncheck all others)

3.Sound>AzaliaAudio and I am using it now and it works (did not remove it after install)

4.Ethernet or network>forcedeth

5.uncheck all non efi (kernel and bootloader)

6.under efi menu select power management laptop option and leave checked

all other except USB2.0 and PCI options

7.under smbios efi select only macbook

after installing (remember to hit power button to continue boot after it hangs on mac logo)

i then installed the files from the tx1000 pack zip following the instructions, reboot after each ktext file is instaled

remember to delete /System/Library/Extensions/IONDRVSupport.ktext after installing the last

nvidia ktext then reboot and change the resolution to 1280X800.

Do not install ALCinject.kext, AppleHDA.kext or ApplePS2Controller.kext as they are not needed and i think the AppleHDA.ktext was the one that stopped my PC from booting after installing it.

here is a link to the files needed (i have made them all available but dont install the files named above unless you need them for an earlier leo4all2 or 3)

http://www.box.net/shared/nhkcsxs1nq

Now to repair the boot you need to install Mandriva Linux Powerpack 2009.0 available on torrents.

on configure screen at the end of the installation select the boot loader and add another operating system.

select "other OS(windows)" and change the name to MacOsX and pick the partition with Leo4all on it, mine was sda3 then you have the boot loader finished.

then after Mandriva is installed use the Mandriva DVD to boot the PC into the rescue option on the boot menu

then select restore windows boot, and restart the PC again with a genuine windows Vista DVD repair the

windows start up files. shut down and then boot with the mandriva disk again and select to

reinstall boot loader for linux. it will install the loader for all 3 operating systems the same as originally

set up in the Mandriva installation.

Then you should have a tripple boot with Wndows Linux and Mac

I still dont have wireless detecting any networks but have ethernet network using DHCP with manual address

but everything else is ok including the touch screen and volume buttons

cant change screen rotation for tablet yet.

email me any files you think can help us with this project and I can

put them into the permenant link for others to download too

used the TX1000 to write this post

cheers

My broadcom is switching on and off but wont connect to or find any networks but LAN is fine,

here is a pic of my "Hackbook"

screen is 1280x800

volume and mute works perfectly from HP buttons

Dear All,

THANKS A LOT, especially for BlueCopter

I was able to install OSX on my HP tx1201au.

although i had a good experience working on all flavours of windows right from 3.1 i never had a worked with OSx

i followed all the instructions and was able to install

altough i faced problems with the dual boot i was able to fix it by searching this forums and google

now i should upgrade it from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4.

will post my results after i do that

again thanks a lot for step by step illustration

Thanks

chakri

any of you guys tried windows 7 yet? it runs really well for a pre beta release and the biometric sensor's supposedly going to be supported out of the box as in completely integrated with the OS which is pretty cool. been using it for a couple hours now and it's been solid so far. it's definately running faster than vista. it feels more responsive. stuff like aero shake works with the touch screen which comes in really handy. it's definately worth taking a look at cos in our present situation i can't see much progress being made running leo on these laptops. while it will work and to a degree work really well, it'll never be a complete OS. the fact i can't even play dvd's really annoys me sometimes, lol.

anyways, take a look.

regards,

Marc

Tested it on my tx2032la, but under VMWare, so all the "special" features from the notebook aren't available. I still don't dare to install it like a normal O.S... a friend with the same notebook did it and told me that sometimes it shuts down alone.

Talking about the OS itself, it's a lot cleaner than Vista, and runs faster... it's nice so far.

The webcam works, I corrected myself  . In fact, I saw that it worked in iChat...

You made yourself clear. It can't be what you say thopugh. The more I use OSX, the more this happens to me. Once it starts, I can totally not touch the computer at all and it'll jump down there, and even 'click' on the stuff that is down there. I've noticed it always starts when I use Firefox, Xcode, and after a minute or two of safari. I don't know what to do about it, my install of OSX is almost unusable because of it......

tried installing the generic speedstep driver, it works great. it actually keeps the laptop pretty cool and unless you're doing anything relatively processor intensive the fan stays pretty quiet too. this'll help with anyone who's having overheating issues or just generally running a very hot laptop. one bad thing is that it seems to kernel panic when using restart after installing the new driver but that's a small price to pay for what you get in return. one of my main concerns running leopard on here was that the heat due to the processor running full all the time would cause some kind of damage. now that's one less thing to worry about.

DSDT is a part of ACPI. Actually DSDT tells OS how to interract with the hardware (simplified way of telling it). OSX has an incomplete ACPI implementation which supports only a subset of DSDT. By replacing DSDT we can declare essentially the same interface but in the way that OSX understands. This potentially can solve nearly any ACPI-related problem (except if OSX bypasses ACPI). Other usage case is emulating by the means of DSDT features or hardware components not present on your system. But this is limited to devices that use ACPI.

just found this while poking around on the forums, i was actually looking for stuff to do with my desktop but this looks like it could be really helpful with our laptops. the bit in bold is the bit that caught my eye. i'm going to read into it a little more but maybe this is what we need for booting on battery.

Hey everyone,

I hate to revive an old thread, but I've been out of the osx86 scene for a while, and it's time to get back in.

I was running up to 10.4.8 (I know, it's been like a over a year) on my old HP DV1440us and it was pretty smooth. My screen went bad on that old notebook, so I picked up an HP tx2525nr tablet a few months ago.

Vista is horrible, I'm sick of it, and I miss osx86. I'm considering gettinb back into the scene... but I want to know first - has anyone gotten osx running on the same machine? I read through a bunch of pages in this thread, and checked the HCLs in the wiki site, but didn't see anything. I also ran a few simple searches through but came up with nothing.

I'm wondering the best route for the install. Any input would be greatly appreciated... I'm willing to tinker around a good bit once I get into it, but at the moment it's been so long that I don't remember a thing! Just trying to get back on the right track, and hoping someone can help me out.

Thanks a lot guys!

Here is some addl info ab my machine from the HP system information:

Processor: AMD Turiou, dual-core Mobile RM-70

I've got a Quanta board system ID 30F1 version 97.18

my firmware is F.06, from what I understand I need to downgrade this...

graphics: ATI radeon hd 3200

hard drive: WDC WD25 00BEVs-60UST0 SCSI

optical: CDDVDW TS-L633L by TSSTcorp

network... broadcom 4321AG; realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P)

I've also got an old broadcom chip at home in my old DV1440 that I would swap out with this one... I can't remember the model of it, but I remember it worked back in the day with 10.4.8

Does anyone have any input for me on where to start, or how compatible this stuff is? Thanks a lot I really appreciate it!

Hello

I successfully installed the leo4all on a 16GB on my tx1020eu. It works very fine thanks to the great work of the people in this thread.

But unfortunetly the update packto 10.5.4 isn't online anymore. Can please someone tell me if there's a mirror for these files?

Thanks

there's a thread specifically for the tx2500 series =D

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=118357

I successfully installed leo4all v4.1 on my tx1020ea and it's much faster than v2 on my 16GB USB Stick.

Here shortly what i've done. First install with the notes some posts before:

1.remove firewire

2.chipset> nforce test only(uncheck all other)

3.Sound>AzaliaAudio

3.Video>none(cause it wont work if u pick one ;D)

4.ethernet or network>forcedeth

5.uncheck all non efi (kernel, bootloader...)

6.under efi menu select laptop battery option

7.also under smbios efi select macbook

Second:

Install the following out of the29's tx1000 pack:

3x NV* (nvidia)

nForcEthernetDriver

appleps2controler

Touchkit

To fix WLAN (dv6420laPack.zip):

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=29687

both ACPI kexts with kexthelper.

Hope, this helps someone.

no solution acpi for the boot with battery?

@Dariog78 - There is work being done elsewhere on this, at the same time, if you had looked through almost 900 posts, you would have noticed this already...I agree with Wyzazz's and the_29's post about 10-15 pages prior...if everyone wants to come to this topic and only wants to know what is being done for QE/CI, he has all the right to vent...

@Wyzazz/the_29 - I have looked around and tried to install almost every other valid AMD distro but Leo4All V2 still comes out on top - I am not a super techie like you guys are :D but I would wait for something to come by which is validated by better folks like you...and the work put in by Yellow and so on...

@For all the noobs who post here...maybe you all should try other distro's and post your experiences and that would help before posting something like "Anything going on with QE/CI"? I also saw a post from Rackball who is inviting people to join his forum....however, my comments on that is that maybe he should update this topic with his experiences and what he has been trying to do from his side than trying to run parallel forums...This topic is by far the best you can find on TX1000/2000...

I have been patient and will be patient...so far I have a usable installation with V2...If you all are that impatient, maybe just go buy a real mac, I am sure some of us have a few dollars to spare :D
