Dear Chun-Nan,

Thank you for your effort. Beta2 (now beta3) kexts solved issues with my built-in O2Micro mini FireWire port instantly.

However, FireWire connections on my Belkin FireWire and USB 2.0 ExpressCard are not working. When starting-up in verbose mode it still says "FireWire: Unable to get device memory" for those hubs. At the same time USB port of the adapter is working.

Best regards,

Hautecontre

Hi Chun-Nan,

I got ENE technologies cardbus controller for PCMCIA working.

Thank you very much, now i got wifi through my Linksys pcmcia-card and i can leave Atheros (dreaded 5007...) at peace.

When possible could you please add support for ENE technologies (vendor-id: 1524)

dev-id's: 0530, 0551, 0520 and SD host controller dev-id: 0550?

Thank you for your effort on this platform, it is much appreciated!

Hi jul_k,

If you can boot with "-f" and don't get KP, it usually means the file permissions are not set correctly or the kextcache is not updated. Double check it.

If rev8 doesn't work with you, you can try beta3.

You may try another usb drivers to see if your usb sound card will work via USB PCCard.

If you still get KP, can you post kernal panic picture on the forum if possible? Thanks.

Chun-Nan

Hi Chun-Nan!

you were right with the not updated kextcache!

now I have beta3 running with the same behaviour like using only the pccardfamily.kext!

Is there a way to unplug the card without freezing my system?

could you suggest a usb driver? I don't know where to choose from except pcgenusb2!

thank you very much!

Hi Chun-nan,

Thank you for the PCMCIA Driver.

I have following problem with my iATKOS 2.0i installation on Thinkpad.

1] The System Boots fine with the rev8 PCMCIA kext's. (The Buffalo 1394 card is not inserted into PCMCIA Slot during BOOT).

Here are the details from dmesg

Once system is booted, I insert the 1394 Card. Here is message from dmesg.

Is there anything I am missing?

Hi,

I am having trouble getting my PCMCIA card to work. I have never used a Mac before. Is there a step by step guide to installing beta 3. It says you need to copy and then replace 2 files at the same time. Where do I find those files?

Complete Mac noob query I know.

hi!

i'm new to OSX driver cheating, but obviously, your drivers seem extraordinarily.. great! what i didn't get: do they work only for PCMCIA devices? as I read about your drivers somewhere here (in the sig of BugsBunny), it made me think that it supports almost every atheros chip.

i own an asus eeePC and became kinda addicted to try around. so is there any chance that your drivers might get the built-in atheros AR5BXB63 wifi chip working?

anyway, thanks for your work for the community!

HI. FIRST OF ALL THANX FOR THE WORK !!!!!

I've got next CArd Reader:

SD Host controller [0805]: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller [104c:803c]

It seems to me I did something wrong. What it was exactly ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I did next:

- I downloaded IOPCCardFamily_chunnan_Leopard_rev8.zip, unpacked it and replase IOPCCardFamily.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext.

- reboot.

- I downloaded PCCard.10.5.2.beta3.mpkg.zip, unpacked it and installed it.

- reboot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I got next reply on the command :

bash-3.2# dmesg | grep PC
PCI configuration changed (bridge=1 device=15 yenta=1)
IOPCCard info: Mac OS X PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.22

bash-3.2#

So Card Reader is no working now.

May be I have to put somewhere my Card Reader vendor and device ID (104c:803c) ???

Thanks a lot ...

I get this message when the card IS working!

So what I did was correctly?

And how can I see my card reader work ? I should see new disk in Finder ?

Hello,

Here is the IOPCCardFamily file that I have worked on today. I complied the source files offered from Apple and also fixed some bugs. You do not have to edit the info.plist to match your machine. If your pccard shows "IOPCCardBridge::start failed", you can give it a try.

How to use?

  • Backup your original IOPCCardFamily driver (and IOPCIFamily driver)
  • Replace your IOPCCardFamily driver (and IOPCIFamily driver) with the attached one that contains all necessary modifications
  • Reboot
  • As root, type "dmesg | grep PC"; you should see something being found

Welcome to try it. Don't forget to backup the old files before trying it.

[iMPORTANT]

If you get the kernel panic, PLEASE check if you have replaced the following files to make your cardbus slot working before:

AppleACPIPlatform

AppleAPIC

IOACPIFamily

If you did, you probably need to find a way to restore those files first.

If you still get kernel panic, you can take the picture of it if possible. Thanks.

[KNOWN ISSUES]

It may cause kernel panic with AGPGart installed.....

If you have the error message "IOPCCardBridge::checkBridgeBusIDs invalid sub/cardbus/pci settings of 0x0" before trying the rev3 file, it still may not work after trying the rev3 file.

I don't know if the new added devices will work or not. However, you can give it a try and let me know the result. In addition, if your pccard slot works under linux and it is not listed on the above the list (and if you believe it may work under mac), let me know the device id and I will try to add it to the next revision.

Everything of mine was working on my Dell Dimensions 4600c except the Ethernet (I have a WiFi card in, but was trying to use it wired. I installed the above app, and now I get the Grey Apple screen non stop???? How do I undo this, with reformatting and reinstalling OS. Or, how do I get this to work? I am fairly new to macs (bought a macbook in feb) really liked it and had this dell and wanted to give it a shot. Like I state before, Iatkos v2.0 worked except for ethernet without me having to do anything. I guess I should have left well enough alone, but I thought it "COULD" be a perfect install, any and all help is greatly appreciated

Hey

I have recently installed leopard on my BenQ S41.

The ethernet did not work by default, but the osx wiki

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...es#Benq_S41-C46

said that:

LAN: Yukon 88E8055 work with the PCCard.10.5.2.Beta2.pkg (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...1036&st=500)

Add your LAN hardware id into /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist and then install the PCCard pkg

I dont know how to add my lan hardware ID into Info.plist, or which lines to edit

Thx a lot

Hello,

After 2 days of unsuccesfull tryouts to start the Kalyway_10.5.2, I read this topic and I've made the following changes:

I have downloaded PCCard.10.5.2.beta3.kext.zip.

Under Windows, with Transmac, I've replaced the 2 folders in the System/Library/Extensions (IOPCIFamily.kext, IOPCIFamily.kext) with the ones found in the above arhive.

I've burned the iso image, rebooted, and got the following error:

post-247458-1214112697_thumb.jpg

The only other change I've made to the Kalyway iso was to rename IOFireWire*.kext files to IOFireWire*.kext-vanilla, because I was getting errors on Firewire too.

I've noticed that there is another arhive, PCCard.10.5.2.beta3.mpkg.zip , but I don't know what I have to do with that. ^_^

Help, I'm desperate! :( I'm a noob.

Thanks in advance, my card reader seems to be in your list, Chun-Nan: { "O2Micro OZ6912/711E0", IS_O2MICRO|IS_CARDBUS, ID(O2, 6912) }

It worked for me!

My card:

15:00.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Cardbus Controller

Subsystem: Lenovo Device 2028

Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-

Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-

Latency: 168, Cache Line Size: 32 bytes

Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 20

Region 0: Memory at e4300000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)

Bus: primary=15, secondary=16, subordinate=17, sec-latency=176

Memory window 0: e0000000-e3fff000 (prefetchable)

Memory window 1: 50000000-53fff000

I/O window 0: 00008000-000080ff

I/O window 1: 00008400-000084ff

Secondary status: SERR

BridgeCtl: Parity- SERR- ISA- VGA- MAbort- >Reset- 16bInt- PostWrite+

16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001

Kernel driver in use: yenta_cardbus

Kernel modules: yenta_socket

I only had to delete the Extensions.mkext and reboot..

And that made my Leo4Allv3 (updated with Kalyway combo 10.5.3) install able to use a Buffalo Broadcom based PCMCIA card.. So I finally got my AirPort working..

Just three words: I LOVE YOU! :(

I am a real noob here, and looking for a way to get my Intel 2100 Pro working... I have a hardware button to turn on/off the wireless and by default in osx it is turned off.

If I am correct I can use this to get it "on"?

But I don't know what and how to use it?

I just wanted to try a mac for a few weeks to see if i would buy one , but guess not

ok guys, ive read this whole thread to the point my eyes burn. rev8 got my TI xx21 cardbridge found, the beta fubared my system, couldnt even boot safe mode. that being said:

my TI xx21 has the integrated SD Card Reader. This is what I need the most, and I know its integrated into the cardbus, however it is still not functioning. I see users asking about it, but they never even get a reply, let alone a point in the right direction if indeed it is governed by a different driver. Any advice would be appreciated, but i need this SD Card Reader to work, AND it would bring my system to 100% working with leo 5.2. i just need a point in the right direction, so has anyone gotten thier cardreader to work? my lspci is thus:

02:06.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCIxx21/x515 Cardbus Controller

Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device 0944

I/O window 1: 00001800-000018ff

02:06.3 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller

Memory at d0102000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)

Capabilities: <access denied>

02:06.4 SD Host controller: Texas Instruments PCI6411/6421/6611/6621/7411/7421/7611/7621 Secure Digital Controller

Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device 0944

Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 19

Memory at d0104000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)

im a noob with technical background, so if you can point me at the kext i need to edit, and what to place, id be real appreciative. once i get 100% i plan on donating to the cause nicely. thanks in advance to all you gurus.

i am need of some serious help in this department. ok so here is the deal, i have installed the beta3 package on my hackintosh running 10.5.3, it runs very well thus far. my issue is that although it appears that my internal sd reader is being recognized (the little controller thing in the toolbar is displayed when i insert a card) it never mounts the actual card.

my controller seems to be this if it helps:

Ricoh Co Ltd RL5C472 II [1180:0476] (rev ac) Cardbus bridge [0607]

Sorry if i didn't give correct info, i'm new & in desperate help, please if anyone can maybe help please do try, i'm so sick of having things fail & having to mirror my drive if something goes sour, i can't fix it on my own so i need help if i can get any. any help is better than none

Thank you in advance
