I have a P5K-E with a 8600GTS and the instal of kaly 10.5.1 worked fine , it is now installed

and in my vista bootloader, however, when I boot onto it, it just hangs in the middle of loading

I get quite a few times this message :

Package 0 didn't get an HPET

and I tried the different options , -v -f -x but didn't get it so start

the UI, it looks like it hangs when it's supposed to switch to full res mode for the UI.

I use the NVInject driver...

Any idea ?

Thanks !

AsRock Conroe 945G-DVI with with Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 2.10GHz; on-board DVI.

SATA HD format as GUID

Checked only: vanila kernel + ACPI, efi_guid

Install went smooth, but then got endless reboot.

After that reformated HD to MBR

Checked only: vanila kernel + ACPI, efi_mbp

VERY IMPORTANT - No-Executable status (NX/XD) and HPET should be enabled in BIOS!!!

Excluding sound, everything works!

hi, sorry mate, how did u get the 8500gt working? had to sell mine and get a 7600gt for the mac osx to work!

Thanks,

ps. don't f*****g give out sites where 2 get the os. So, stupid. Am i wrong?

i have more than one problem here:

my windows crashes and complains about memory buffer underrun when trying to unzip the whole thing. so i needed to extract the iso only.

the iso then became 3,738,624kb - doesnt seem right. well i burned it out anyway to try and when booting i get the following message:

"System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found". A few weeks ago I also tryed the JAS batfile rendering to HD / install without a DVD-thing and i have a feeling it fu**ed up something on my computer caus after that im having trouble installing windows again, it complains about some i86 file missing. Could someone point me in the right direction here, im no computer wizard but i need OSX beacuse of Logic 8.

sorry i forgot to tell what gear i have:

Intel QuadCore 2,4GHz 4GB Ram ASUS P5K (with firewire).

have you tried to disable in bios usb 2.0 controller? i have a imilar problem resolved disabling usb 2.0 controller also disable any hardware from bios
Hi, Tanx for reaction, I triend to disable this but didn't work:(With "disable any hardware from bios" you mean 'LAN, Sound, ...'?I did but no solution...But i appreciate your help ;)Grtz, I will find it someday (with some help from here)... and i hope SOOOON!:P
I'm a noob but...We need a 4 gig cd to burn this? Is there even such a thing? D:Or can we just mount it onto a virtual drive? Thanks.
Yes ;) you need 4.7Gb dvd, burn that iso, and trow it in and install ;)And...Hope your hardware is supported ;):DGood Luck..In virtual Drive... It won't work.. Need to restart your pc ;)and.. Backup everything for sure.In Virtual machine (Like Vmware in windows) you can use it to...Grtz, Junior
ok i see , problems when u unrar large files , that's it ?

Strange , because i used the same AppleviaAta for the distro. i prefered this solution to the ioAta one because with this one(viaata) all sata are detected and the boot fastest. Ioata could be a good solution if we find the correct wrapping of the channels. but didn't find them.

Yes, unpacking really large files or burning really large files with third party tools like toast will get a kernel panic.

Burning with Finder btw will not get any kernel panic. Really strange. Unpacking tool doesn't matter (BetterZip, UnrarX etc. -> all will resolve to the panic :-( )

There's no panic log, only some entries in DirectoryService.server.log (testing with BetterZip):

03.01.08 20:11:18 com.apple.launchd[83] ([0x0-0x17017].com.macitbetter.betterzip[131]) Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault

03.01.08 20:14:47 com.apple.launchd[96] ([0x0-0x17017].com.macitbetter.betterzip[136]) Exited abnormally: Bus error

As said: kernel panic will not occure with AHCI or slightly older ICH9 driver mentioned. Of course your driver would be much better, cause it will detect SATA 3+4 and will boot OSX much faster.

Of course i could just left the AHCI Option on in Bios, but with that i would never be able to update my Bios, cause Asus disabled AHCI with Bios Versions greater than 406..

Damn P5K, should have bought something with ICH9-R :-)

Does someone know if this release will work with vanilla on a nForce 680i board? I couldn't get it to work. (system specs in sig)

So I installed without vanilla and almost everything works so big thumbs up for the kalyway team :P I did however install pc_efi, does this make it possible to install apple updates?

Btw if your installation freezes after a while with a random number of minutes left, try moving your mouse every 1 - 2 mins during installation.

First of all thanks to all osx developers!

I have no time to read through this thread but i have a question.

After a clear install (MBR only, GUID fails at the final steps) I cann't boot

Leopard (I can see a black screen with flashing cursor).

But if i miss booting from the install DVD Leopard successfully starts up.

So the question is How to fix this problem.

I tried to configure BIOS as it written in first few pages but no luck with booting.

I do not want to use multiple booting and any third party bootloadres(if no solution i will).

I split my 400GB drive into two HFS+ partitions and installed leo on a first clear partition

Anyway everything works perfect!

Thank you guys.

My system:

OS: KALYWAY 10.5.1 without vanilla

MB: ASUS P5K

CPU: Intel C2Q Q6600

RAM: 2GB 800 MHz (2x1024)

Video: ASUS 8600GTS (Works fine)

LAN: Attansic L1 - not working (

Realtek thats working

Sound: alc883

HD: SATA-II Samsung 400GB (1st sata port),

SATA-I WD 200GB(3rd sata port)

CD-DVD: ASUS DRW-1814BLT (2nd sata port),

PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112 (PATA)

//all sata and pata works with JMicron driver

:censored2: i was ignored. did i not type it out good enough or did someone already ask the question? if it is could you tell me what page it was on? or was i not ignored and i missed the reply? i kinda feel like this thread is going just a bit to fast. it seems like there is 100 replys every day lol. well just in case here is what i asked.

i was wondering... what about just updating instead of a fresh install? could i download this and put it in and just update my Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2]. it runs fine except there is no driver for my sapphire ati radeon x1550 512mb. is there more support on leo for stuff like that? i have a few games and programs i cant run because i haven't found a driver for it.

sorry if it has been asked or if it was replyed to and i didnt see it or if i didnt type it to where someone could understand it or something. im from alabama so maybe i typed it a little to redneckish or something. :(

Okay here's my full question :

I understand you can use VMware to use this ISO, but do I mount it inside VMware's virtual OS or on my real one?

Hi sheepy :P

If you want to use vmware (there are many things to download on that 'super'-vmwaresite, you need to download VMWARE WORKSTATION, to be clear: here 's the link ;)

--> http://www.vmware.com/products/ws/

--> Just click @ evaluate and submit your mail adres and name and so on, and you can download..

Then in vmware you make a new 'virtual machine', call it mac or whatever, and you start the machine, let th e virtual machine boot from your (many thanx to) Kalyway 10.5.1. Leopard disk, and... done.

Euhm? disk of 4Gb doesn't exist é :P.. You need to buy a 4.7Gb disk, which you can buy in almost every shop. :D

Grtz,

Junior

THANK YOU SO MUCH JUNIOR! :HUGS:

I LOVE YOU!@!@!

Btw I already have VMware.

THANKS@!@!@

Haha, no problem:) glad i can help you:)

Hope to work on Leopard soon.. Now it's still 10.4.8...

@ All:

I Try to burn the image tomorrow on a DVD-R (like my 10.4.8. JaS dvd), instead of a DVD+RW...

Could that be the problem that i can't get in the installation setup?
