Can anyone help me?

I proceded to upgrade tiger 10.4.11 (really perfect) with Kalyway 10.5.1 (Wonderfull!!) but after

reboot is request to log. I tried to digit user and password I used on tiger 10.4.11 but system refused the access.

What can I do?

If you're using the whole hard drive for OS X make sure it's formatted MBR instead of Guid. (In Options for formatting in disk utility).

I had the same login screen as you when I formatted with Guid.

Also choose SSE2 if your processor doesn't have SSE3

Ok, so after trying alot of different configurations, I got the MBR option to work with everything working Lan, sound, usb, etc.

 

Problem is, I have my windows partion on that same drive. I can boot in to LEO only if I put the install disk in, ok...but now how do I get a dual boot option so I can boot either windows or OSX.

 

I guess the problem was I didn't really understand the the guid and mbr (still don't really as far as how that works with the diskutility)

 

Any how is there a fix, or how can I revert to the windows pation and reinstall the leo later?!

cant boot leopard.

I have a problem with boot.plist not found.

Intel 975xbx, E6600, sata, ati1900xt

 

I already installed leopard - Instalation succeded. You need to restart your computer.

ok.restart.

if I dont do anything, after 10 sec, then he said: System config file /com.apple.Boot.plist not found

If I hit f8, then I had 1 choise, something like mac leo 10.5.2 bla bla, then leopard installation start from beggining.again B)

 

 

I formated hdd to ms-dos and than back to macos journal. pc wroted- formating disk0s2, but I have only one sata disk with only 1 partrition. I set both value*s to guid. again installed leo. and, again, I get this f* boot plist not found.

after that I opened "Startup manager" and there was only one choise - Network startup, maybe there is something with my bios or hdd?

 

I already have "tiger" on another hdd. 10.4.11

Hello gentlemen,

 

I know thi maynot be the right place to ask!..But with due apologies if i am wrong somewhere and i also know that members are kind enough to redirect me to put forth my problem crystal clear. I am putting this with as much as detailed cause This is the first post and I am very new the the world of MAC... All these years (8 apprx) I was fighting with MS Windows OSes modding and doing all those..anyhow

 

I was browsing this forum as guest since more than 4-5 months there are a lot of unanswered questions but for now

 

Senario 1

 

With great high speed download of 15 kbps I had downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD Reselase

 

After extracting what i got is lp_kalyway_10.5.1_intel_sse2_sse3 folder with the contents in folder 1 : .DS Store file, kalyway _leo_10.5.1.iso, Readme.rtf, Screef1.tiff and screen 2.tif

Folder 2 named _macosx with contents ._ds store, ._kalyway_leo_10.5.1.iso.. which is not opening by..readme.rtf, again the the same tif files...with no preview..

 

Burned the 1st ISO (4.37) GB on DVD (moserbear) at 1x in IMG BURN

 

Bought a new SATA HDD 160 (Seagate), Installed the HDD, Booted from the DVD...asked to to press any key to install and I pressed Enter key (Ps/2 Keyboard worked here)

 

Took a while to load and came to GUI..Happy dayz uptill now (USB Mouse pointer works)

Sorry i forgot I had partitioned the HDD into 4 peices (Paragon partiion magic) FAT32

 

Then opted for disk utility...The HDD was recognized.. happy uptil now..

 

The 1st partition was reformated with MAC jourenaled...Verify disk says ok..Thanks

 

Next comes the custom install...I opted left as it is in boot loader not opting for MBR...selected EFI

Vanilla kernel both where selected..Video drivers i took...Nvinject__gfnvidia_desktop....( I had a problem here..I said only 6 and 7 series ..but mine was 8600 GT...What to do...????)

Sound Azalia was selected

Went ahead...I started DVD Check...I left it unharmed...

 

Copied files...Hurray....I got the green Signal (Installed) in the end...The first happiest animal in the world was MYSELF.

 

Restarded....WTF....I got b0 error...Wnyone know this...I am so F##k{censored} D#$k head...I really dont know where i f#@$ked up

Started all the same process all over again..But this time in custom install I opted for MBR in bootloaders.. and all other options remained same...

 

Copied all files....uf... Again i see that Green Signal (Installed).. Please restart. on countdown 30 Sec..Did not even bother to touch it.. Scared {censored} it was...

 

Started...Happy...I see that all that welcome screen indiffrent languages..(Believe me This is the first time in my life seen that screen) Ok time to enter some registration info....

 

WTF...My keyboard is not responding but the Mouse.....What do i do...

 

I also found in a blog that sayin you can either have USB Keybaord and Mouse or PS/2 Keyoard and Mouse but not MIX and Match

I've read through all of this thread, and am amazed that no one seems to be having the problem that I am...

 

If I choose no options on the "F8" screen, I'll get the text-mode loader, then the spinning wheel, and eventually the black screen of death.

 

If I choose "-v", "-v -x", "-v -x -t", "-v cpus=1", and various combinations, the load will go until it hangs, with the last line printed being "dsmos: Starting".

 

I have a Bad Axe2 board, with the Kalyway 10.5.1 boot cd. My BIOS was recently updated to version 2809, but I just tried 2802, to no avail. Booting from a SATA DVD-ROM drive, though I get the same result with an IDE drive.

 

In the BIOS, I have everything set as I have read, "NX: enabled", "VT: disabled", "AHCI mode" for SATA. "HPET: enabled".

 

The Kalyway "Format & Make Bootable" booted and worked fine.

 

I'll try the iATKOS installer after I get a chance to download it. In the meantime, does anyone have any ideas of what the problems might be, or anything else left to try?

After installed leopard with kalyway dvd, leopard can access other ntfs partitions on the same PC.

If I use the Restore_Factory_Desktop_finder_settings script to restore to original factory state, can ntfs partition still be able to access ?

I would just like to report my success at installing Leopard My hardware

 

Motherboard: Asus P5LD2 SE

Processor: Intel Core Duo 2.2 Ghz E4500

Graphics card: Leadtek PX7600GT

 

I have a bunch of random hard drives 3 SATA and 1 IDE (which leopard is on) and and IDE Pioneer 109 DVD drive

 

I used the GUID, vanilla and GUID boot EFI, Nvidia Desktop option and everything worked out of the box except audio and I don't care because I have a usb headset and a presonus firebox. I have a duel boot system with windows XP x64 edition. I partitioned the IDE drive which holds leopard and XP with the leo diskutility then rebooted and installed windows then installed os x. if I press F8 on start up I can choose which os to boot into and it defaults to leopard.

 

The only funky thing I have going on is in the system profiler my ram is marked at a speed of 266 when it is actually 667 anyone else seen anything like this?

 

If you have this motherboard and have any questions let me know.

Hello,

 

I installed the Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1 on my System.

Nearly everything works perfect, great release.

 

But I have one problem with my Nvida Geforce 6800 Ultra.

 

After boot, i only get a black screen.

 

I tried natit and nvinject, but always the same problem.

 

The only way to get leo started is to boot with the -x flag.(safe mode)

 

Does anybody have an idea what´s the problem or a working driver package for the 6800 ultra ?

 

(with tiger 10.4.8 my gfx card worked perfectly.)

Hi,

 

I installed kalyway 10.5.1, i selected drivers for my graphics card during the installation and it worked. When i wanted to install the newest NVInject drivers, 0.2.1, from http://nvinject.free.fr/, when i reboot, i get error they were not installed correct and not working, how do i have to install them?

Don´t you install the nvidia driver delivered with kalyway? Otherwise you have to install a driver now. I have no experience with this card but search for diaboliks helpful files, nvidiainject, 10.5.2_NVkexts+.pkg or something like this. You must try like all the other people here.

Hi

 

I have installed Kalyway version on my Thinkpad X60s. During the setup I selected Vanilla kernel (both options) and EFI on MBR.

 

After the setup it starts and after 3/4 secs it reboots. I tried option -v to see what happen but I don't see any error. The last line is something like "MAC Framework...".

 

I tried to look around on the forum but couldn't find anything. I see that many people has rebooting issue but couldn't find an answer to solve the issue.

 

I tried to install previously the TOH version (with the TOH kernel) and it works. But I would have the Vanilla kernel.

:) Looking for a nearly perfect laptop/vista/ leopard-heres how since I have actually done it.

1 need the kayyway 10.5.1 files, burn to a regular dvd as an iso

2 bought the sony vgn-n350 on ubid. com for $500 ($1200 in stores) it works on this one

3 install acronis disc director with os selector in vista on laptop, create a boot disc for acronis on a cd, inder programs click acronis and install os.selector but do not make it active yet

4 create a new partition -logical and no file system-call it mac, better make it at least 10gigs since its going to be your mac drive

4 insert kayaway iso- starts insalll on boot

5 choose custom install and mbr for booting for this drive, select all drivers vanilla etc.and install to your mac partition after format

5 enter user name and password during install

6 it should install with no problems quickly and it will boot into leopard only

7insert your acronis boot disc and reboot to it- select activate os selector

8remove disc and reboot- press enter space and you will get to boot selection screen, select microsoft and you will go to vista, reboot and do nothing-you will get leopard, simple as that!

Leopard will look funny-go to files on kalyway and go to his suggested website for a free download of the file you need to return to factory display-burn it on a cd-install with leopard running,

What works or not- wireless and ethernet and earphone not yet, had to use ann external usb wireless to set up under leopard-works fine at full speed. You may have to buy one, sound works on laptop, screen perfect and all programs on leopard so far work fine, even updated from apple site ook

I am hoping someone can send me a fix since I believe these are easily fixable-I just don't know anything about macs yet but it mostly works. Sleep etc works perfectly.

 

I have had it working for a week now with no problems! If someone could e-mail me a fix for getting the sound out of the earphone and built in wireless I'd appreciate it, thanks.

anyone know a quick fix for the kalyway dvd rebooting before reaching the install ?

 

 

i succesfully installed kalyway on 4 different setups, but i cant get the installer to start on this p4 3.2

 

i tried various flags :

-v -f -x -legacy , im running out of ideas

Hi everyone,

 

In trying to install leopard on the second partition of my hd as xp is on the first partition, install all goes through but after install it wont boot into xp or leopard, if i boot from the dvd and just let it count down without pressing a key it boots into the leopard os i just installed, does anyone know how to if the boot from my hd ?

I have shutdown issues with a laptop and desktop computer. You have to depress the power button for about five seconds to fully power the laptop down. I believe this was not an uncommon problem. Did anyone find a solution?

 

I have yet to note if it's the same situation with iATKOS but I imagine so. I can adjust bios in the desktop computer (ASUS P5VD2-MX with Pentium D) but not the Acer Extensa 5620 laptop (Core 2 Duo, GMA X3100).

Hi,

 

is there somebody out there using the Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3 rev. 2.0 with the latest bios revision (i think its f11 or f12) and S3 working well? I made an update 2 days ago (I know, never change a running system;) and S3 wouldn't work any more! Downgraded to f6 and now S3 is back at work :(

when i try to install kalyway in my pc

i have 2 problems

 

when i try disk utility it doesnt let me erase the partition with a fat32 partition and put hfs+

when i try that the partition doesnt mount

 

and when i installin it about 30% it says it have a problem and cant copy files to volumen on partition

who can help me : )?

Hey Guys,

 

I just slapped together a nice cute pc today, and installed this with no major hick-cups within an hour!

 

But I do have a couple of questions....

I can't seem to get my sound or Lan working

 

I think it is detecting the lan, but its saying the cable is unplugged (which I know its not!) and I tested this by booting into a Ubuntu live CD, so I know there is no physical connectivity issue...It's not displaying a mac address where it should be either...

 

The mobo is a Asus P5KPL-VM with a E4500 Cpu, 2gb ram, and a geforce 6600...

 

The sound chipset is a Realtek ALC-662

The lan is I guess part of the Intel G31+ICH7 chipset? The onboard PCIE GB one...

I've tried manually enter my IP's but no love...I did however have success by getting one my old Intel Pro 100 adapters out, but obviously I prefer to have the onboard one working...

 

So if anyone can point me in the right direction of how to get these working, would be awesome!!

 

I installed the non-vanilla version
