Hi all,

I am wondering when the new build osx86 10.4.4 will hit the torrents. Does any one have any news about it. I wonder why no one is talking about it.

I am patiently waiting for it to come out. If someone has any news please post it here. maybe I am not informed. If I hear something, i will do the same.

Have a great time using osx8

best Wishes

word on the streetz is that the 10.4.fizzle came out on torrents already.

just gotta findz0rs it, y0oo0o0o0o0o

:)

Well, I am awaiting the testing of the 10.4.4 builds, myself.

I don't have the OS loaded up on a machine. About 3 years ago, I switched to a mac full time. Since then, computing has generally been an enjoyable experience. I still use Windows, a lot, but only for work.

So, I just sold my Dual G5 for $150 less than I paid for it. Now, I only have 4 macs in the house. However, the one I use is a mac mini. Well, it's a little slow.

So, I am awaiting word on 10.4.4 to see if it will work. If so, I am picking up a new motherboard, processor and ram for the old athlon and running it there. Well, until the new PowerMacs come out. Can't wait. In the meantime, I will try to run intel hardware after 10.4.4 is verified to be wholly cracked.

So, I hope it's out in the wild.

To date the only protection that has been included on x86 releases of Tiger was the TPM chip check, which was relitively easy to by-pass.

Now with the reliance on EFI rather than BIOS there is a significant hardware limitation preventing Tiger from running on most hardware.

People are starting to tinker with ways around it, but as yet its proving quit a challenge.

There are many reasons for this, like that all the people who happily downloaded pirated versions of OSXx86 and now bought their own iMac Core Duo don't upload 10.4.4 in fear they would get cought.

Or maybe 10.4.4 with it's EFI lock is impossible to crack.

Personally I think this "OSX for every PC" story is dead, or near death, unless Apple decides to sell it retail in the "not so near" future, although I highly doubt that.

Being both a Mac and a PC user for many years, I read almost all the posts here, I installed 10.4.1 and 10.4.3 on my PC, and I came to the conclusion that OSX for every PC is not worth it. It can run, but with all the problems, drivers missing, updates that everyone is afraid to install cause they could lock them out, etc, THAT IS NOT A MAC GUYS!

If any of you have a real 2003-2005 Macintosh at home, you know what I mean.

Mac is about not crashing, (before the 10.4.4 update I had an uptime of 93 days on my Dual G5), Mac is about quality computing, not about OSX in beige boxes, where a lot of things don't work, others crash, drivers don't exist, and so on. Many people in these forums are dissapointed on the speed-productivity-crash proneness of the leaked developer versions of OSX, but if they ever saw a real Mac they would change their minds.

Dont loose hpe guys, we will make it, he resaon we live on hack stuff is that half of us cannot afford one. If we spend all our money on buying softwares and pc,s, we would be broke in two days. So we try to modify what we have. Yes a real mac is good. But in time it will be as commn as Xp on every pc.

for those of us running osX86 (and, i should probably add, dual, tri, quad booting windows, linux, ... etc) crash free with accelerated guis on compatible hardware, the story is far from dead.

for hobbyists, the search for solutions, the tweaking, fixing and learning this osX86 pc affords, assures long term interest and participation by many. any old grandma can buy a computer that works! pfffft! :)

apples pimpin that geek crack, and they'll never stop coming back.

yeah, but that carrot-and-stick approach is counterproductive. If Apple did leak the dev version, and then stopped the leaks, if would make me MORE determined to get it running, not make me run out and buy an imac.

The real reason you haven't heard from Maxxuss & co is that these people are busy decompiling and rooting around in 10.4.4. Would you rather get a straight 10.4.4 dmg and have a go at getting it running yourself? I wouldn't.... I have a hard enough time getting my graphics card running.

That's you.

Others who have installed 10.4.1 or 10.4.3

(which I think is the last leaked and broken OSX version we will see),

and liked it, already bought or plan to buy a Mac.

Others who just like to install anything new just to see it will get bored eventually and go back to their Windows Asta la Vista or Linuxes quad boots.

Some old Mac users like me who saw the OSX on normal PCs with some curiosity, have given up and are already waiting for their new Macs. After all there will be nothing like the real thing.

It's like Zippos, you can get an imitation OK, but it doesn't "click" like the original...

I had my dual G5 for 3 years, and it is still one of the fastest machines around, and I sold it 300 Euros less that what I bought it for, which is unimagineable for even a 6 months old PC.

Others who just like to install anything new just to see it will get bored...

yes i agree, people who like to install new things, i'm talking about the most computer addicted people on the planet now, let me make myself clear, are going to get bored and just stop with their futile madness. riiiiiight.

and out of the nearly 7 billion other people on the planet, no one new is going to take their place in the queue. all interest in running osX on non apple hardware is going to cease... very soon now.

(i've got all day and a fresh pot of coffee. :hysterical:)

i dont agree about this whole thing : people here have PC and wanna run osx to have stability and surf the web without being hacked, in my case with the 10.4.3 and my ATI im free as a bird  except for the ati mouse bug anyway for 0$ it's really really cool i wont complain at all and spending my whole money for a damn new brand computer who will be obsolet in a year has no sense for the same use.

Man be a little less secret. Could not undersant the thing above.

Substitute commas for the slashes and maybe you would understand it a little more. Basically he is saying that it is not available on any of the following:
