GingerTea
what exactly is the legacy-flag? The Legacy flag forces 32 bit mode. Greetings Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/59/#findComment-564425 Share on other sites
BartNijland
Yes, without it you run Leopard in 64bit. But I only have 2GB of memory so it doesn't really matter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/59/#findComment-564433 Share on other sites
braid
I first installed it into my Applications folder, and now on my additional S-ATA Drive, and it works nice on both of them. They are formatted with HFS+! I don't see any reason why it would run slow, did you experience similiar issues with other Applications? well believe me it runs slooooowly! And my cs3 suite refuses to get patched! not even with the leopard cs3 patch... and it´s the same cs3 dvd I use here in the 10.4.9 uphuck. But know I just got curious about the 64/32 bit mode... How could I check it ? It exists in the 10.4.9 1.3 uphuck too? I dont think so, but, anyway how can I see wich mode am I working? Svein_Jarle
okay. So removing the legacy-flag could improve the performance and/or stability in certain programs and in the overall system? zephyroth
Remove -legacy with 9.0.0 kernel make the system freeze at boot on my system. With kernel 9.1.0 it doesn't change anything system is in 32bits. You can check if your system is 32 or 64 bits with GeekBench. alpha2zulu00
I have an AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology processor. So removing the legacy flag shoud be okay for me, right? If you're not sure, I'd like to try. Booting from the DVD and "updating" should replace any flags, right? EDIT: Never mind, guess I have 9.1.0. kogepan
Thanks for your tips I tried Fixmbr no joy. Do I have to remove it instead of just fixing it? Thanks Problem solved. Had to pop the win98 to use the fdisk. I've searched the forum but im still having the Blinking _ error. Do i need to install Tiger first? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/59/#findComment-564611 Share on other sites
Nstefanelli
I finally finished downloading the OS mentioned here (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73524), I burned it using Nero 8 at 4x, and then I put in back in and it booted to the DVD fine. I pressed the spacebar and a couple other random keys to install, and this is what I got: Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 1919MB memory VESA v3.0 128MB (NVIDIA) Loading HFS+ file: [/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Ire.Boot.plist] from 4230450. Loading HFS+ file: [/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist] from 4230450. Reading configuration file '/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist'. Setting boot-uuid to: 42256FC1-ACD2-31CC-BCC6-B3A3723600D5 Loading Darwin/x86 Loading kernel mach_kernel Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230450. Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230450. * After that, it just goes back to the screen that says "Press any key to boot -etc etc etc..." and then the whole process just keeps repeating itself. Any ideas to help me get this installed? By the way, all I want is just to have OSX natively installed. I don't need it to dual boot, but I can do that if needed. I have Windows Vista Ultimate on DVD. Specs of my laptop: Model: HP Pavilion dv6140us Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 GHz RAM: 2048 MBS (actually 1918 because of video) and they are two 1GB sticks. Hard Drive: 120GB System Type: 64-bit Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks in advance! ShadeZeRO
we are currently testing it across multiple hardware platforms. Hopefully all the kinks will be worked out, and we should have an awesome release for everyone. ShadeZeRO
It's stable yes...to a point. You might have to do a bit of tweaking, driver mixing to get it working well. No certain date yet. We just want a solid release. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/59/#findComment-564830 Share on other sites

Julz
So just to ask again this dvd stops before it even gets to the install screen. I boot the DVD with -v to see whats going on and the last lines of info are "jettosing kernel linker sep21 04:26:17 localhost directoryservice[53] : launchd version 5.0 (v514) unknown SIGFPE code1, subcode 0" and then stops. Before all this most things seem to load fine - genericPatacontroller, firewire, etc. I've tried booting with -x flag but get the same error and this same disk actually boots fine in another Intel laptop so I dont think the disk is at fault. I also had a working JAS 10.4.8 install a while ago so I know a bit about messing with the installs and how to do it all but this is baffling me. What does "unknown SIGFPE code1, subcode 0" mean ?????? If anyone has any ideas I would be gratefull AMD Turion (SSE3 supported) VIA K8T800 & 8325 chipset VIA 0571 ata controller ATI Radeon 9600 (M10) 64mb Graphics 1 gig RAM PATA HD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/59/#findComment-565148 Share on other sites

GingerTea
Would someone tell me how to burn all these parts of Leopard into one single ISO file ? ThanksAnyone? You have to unpack all the parts to gain the single .iso file, which you can simply burn as an image to a DVD.
