I passed the Apple Store on 5th Ave today and I was astonished, the lines were huge and it was just crazy I'm happy I'm going to get mine later. Also a side note if you wanted it today instead of going to apple stores go to AT&T stores. I passed by one and there was barely a line of 15 people and someone could easily get an iPhone but thats just my half of it, you lot have to go get it ;P

Its a pretty cool phone, but people are going way to crazy over it also:

Hey corporate billed AT&T users if you want an iPhone you will be in for a rude surprise. If you try and activate your iPhone on your account you will be greeted with a nice error message saying that the iPhone is NOT COMPATIBLE with your billing.

To use the iPhone, according to multiple AT&T reps (on the phone and at the store), you must swap your SIM card from your old AT&T phone into your iPhone and forfeit visual voicemail.

Kinda lame if you ask me. Sorry Apple, This is your first strike in your review. Will update this post with more information.

While I sit waiting patiently 3 hours behind east coast customers, Dan is reporting that the AT&T store that he has been patiently waiting at is down. Down as in the entire billing system for the store - including the rest of the AT&T stores in NY - are down. NO IPHONES are leaving stores!

Updates to follow…

Update #2: All AT&T stores - billing systems down.

Update #3: All AT&T stores slowly coming online.

the ifixit link is down though... lame

I'm pretty sure its overloaded. I was able to access it a while back...then it just went slow after. Guess a lot of individuals want to see the inside of the iPhone.

I can't believe how many people are running out to buy these. I consider myself a techie, but there's no way I'm laying down $500 for a phone. Are there really so many people with money to throw around? With the minimum rate at $60 a month, a lot of people are actually paying another $600 every 6 months, which is like buying a brand new iPhone every half year.

Ahhh... the insanity.

I feel poor now.

I liked this picture in particular: http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget...newiphone19.jpg

Apple really does think of everything. In case you have a heart attack before you can activate your iPhone, you can still get 911 at the simple slide of a finger.

It's a man's natural reaction to take things apart, through this process you learn how it's built/works/etc.

Heck I even took apart my ipod mini back when I still had it within the first few weeks I got it, basically just for fun, and it still worked fine for months on...

Hey schlubs who waited DAYS in line, looks like you may have wasted a day of your time. Apple is reporting that most of its retail stores have FULL STOCK of the iPhone, just check out Apple’s retail page to see if your local store has some iPhone love for you.

Also, if you refuse to buy an iPhone but wonder what it looks like naked, check out Think Secrets visual take apart guide.

=S. I guess the iPhone wasnt a huge success as it was hyped up to be. I mean, Im sure it will be successfull, just not the way I suspected after all of the hype.

Steve Jobs outwardly said that he expected the iPhone launch to be as revolutionary as the first Mac. If the iPhone was the first cellphone with a screen, I could see that argument, but I think his expectations were way too high.

And for those of you who didn't want an iPod: a non-Phone device is coming out next year. It's an iPod basically, but like the iPhone, it's also built on OS X and probably sports a touch screen. Storage capacity should be optimized for multimedia, so it's gonna hold more than 4 or 8gb.
