XQYZ
Is there a workaround for this error: "Cannot find 640x480 video mode" This comes up with GTA 3 and Vice City. Is there a command line command which sets a custom resolution ? //edit oh: "This title currently does not work on systems with an ATI card." from http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wik...uto_-_Vice_City Same here with my NVidia, so *that* is not the problem :/ Will try San Andreas when I've got more time. Oh and I could'n get "Sims: Life Stories" to work, too. Seems like NFS-Titles work best at the moment. cyclonefr
Will do in 15 days, don't have the time for now... Deleted all the games... Anyway I tried Command & Conquer 3 in win98 mode and it didn't run. And this is where the registry is... So maybe the games didn't work because of the registry... Will modify the reg as well puting the right keys in it, but not now. Suzuka
Anyone want to help me with Oblivion, I'm basing it off this guide http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wik...s_IV_-_Oblivion After installing, and getting Oldblivion on, you have to change the registry, which is in ~/Library/Preferences/Heroes of Might and Magic V Preferences/system.reg At the top you have to add [SOFTWARE\\Bethesda Softworks\\Oblivion] "Installed Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Bethesda Softworks\\Oblivion\\" [SOFTWARE\\Bethesda Softworks\\Oblivion\1.00.0000] But now, Im getting an error from Oldblivion, in the log file, I get Reading configuration. Checking for new versions. Trying to determine installation path.DONE Installed to: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\ Verifying executable.DONE Launching Oblivion.exe.DONE Determining directory of DLL.DONE Path is: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\OBLIVION\oldblivion_0.11t7\oldblivion.dll Allocating memory for path to DLL in remote process. wingk1314
tried need for speed most wanted. it's definately playable. the speed is a bit choppy though. and the sound aswell (probably due to my USB sound card - can anyone confirm the choppy sound?) and there's a few gfx errors such as black shadows from objects and cars. Other than that... I'm pretty amazed it works O_O. Going to try other games tonight. Will update on progress here. P.S. does anyone know if games that require DVD/CD's will run? Aivarz
Just wanted to say that there is no need to copy game files. I made hard link to game folder on win partition and everything works. That's in case of NFSC. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/51151-needforspeed-carbon-on-intel-macs/page/4/#findComment-369560 Share on other sites

XQYZ
No, games wich requires cd, dvd don't work yet. That's not totaly right, I think. If it need the CD/DVD to check for copy-protection the answer is no, definitiv, but just loading files from a cd/dvd is posible. Just add a new device to ./Contents/Resources/Preferences/config. Something like: [Drive T] "Path" = "/Volumes/DemoDVD" "Type" = "cdrom" "Label" = "A Demo DVD" "Filesystem" = "iso9660" should do the job (note: not tested). XQYZ
does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix the error GTA Cannot find 640x480 video mode thanks its driving me NUts Sry, same for me with GTA Vice City. If you've got an Windows Installation (unlike me), then try to change the resolution inside GTA to 800x600 or whatever and try to find out where it saves this setting (registry I guess), check LOCAL_MASHINE/Software and such stuff. When you're lucky and find something we can use it to make GTA on Cider happen. I'll kill the last windows OS on my home (I just need HL2->Crossover Office, starcraft->native and RO->cedega? to survive) RO runs even on wine at platin state, so i should run very good at cider (even crossover mac (note: it's not crossover *office* anymore) should do the job quite fine).
