My real problem is: "Multimedia audio controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01)"

I use iDeneb 10.5.5, I tryed to install the different drivers included in it without success!

My sound card is not found by iDeneb.

AGPGart driver can solve my problem, or is only graphical driver? (Please Slice, let me know)

Or is there some other driver for my sound card?

I ask also enzobelmont's aim for this question!!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN :( .

THANKS, ANDREA

Andrea: i've used a kalyay 10.5.2 DVD to get my Hackintosh running and sound works out of th box. you can try callisto beta 3 to get your screen resolution deected, but you will NEVER get full acceleration on this graphic chipset.

you can check the "useful files" thread to get more instructions.

there isn't a soluction to have QE/CI also slow?

thanks!

just would like to share:

i just tried installing osx86 on my acer aspire 3640 laptop. i used also the kalyway 10.5.2. and almost all of the things are working except for some components:

video=i can only get 1024x768

a.) tried installing each kernel under graphics and ati upon install and did multiple installs. but only the default settings gets me to work on a 1024x768.

audio=haven't tried all kernels yet but out of the box only hd output works

wifi=not working, but lan is working

dvd combo drive= working

For all.

In Leo 9700GLDriver.bundle is PowerPC only.

Try to replace it by ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle with renaming files and correcting info.plist.

It works for X600!!!

I run thru the hole thread this morning, but there are some things I don't understand yet:

- your previous binary patches for Tiger (Post #238) are based on the original 9700'kext, but as stated above Leopard's ones are for PowerPC-architecture only - so let's say I would start poking around on that driver than I'm forced to use Tiger?

- you mentioned that the card 200M is to slow for Leopard - could you please be more specific (aka a technical reason for this)

- I don't understand the need of ATISlice (or it's successor ATILead) - does this kext prepares the hardware registers for the afterwards loaded (and binary modified) 9700.kext? Or, to make this question simpler: How do ATISlice / ATILead interact with each other?

Thanks in advance & best regards

I think so

These kexts are able to modify Radeon GPU Register 0xf8 that used by ATIRadeon9700.kext as dedicated video memory size. Some users got QE on the 200M when F8=3Mb :)

it's memory and core speed is to slow for QE/CI

No. It is not a reason.

The really reason is shared memory and new location of PCIeGart differs from any other Radeons
