hello enzobelmont

I'm afraid to make you unhappy, however I'd like tell you, but your car is equipped with the same cr.... chipset x200, just a little bit speedup frequency one :-)))))

GreatWalrus:

MainboardATI Radeon RS480

Graphics adapterATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1150 - 128 MB 256 MB Hypermemory, GPU/clock rate: 400/400 MHz

sorry amigo, you're stuck as us.

your GFX card is a x300 variant just as xpress 200,you can get more resolution using callisto beta3, with coverg patch; (search in this forums for "useful files")but you will not get 3d acel. until somebody (hopefully Slice's team) make a working driver.

or you can search, there is a x300 working driver, search for it and share your experiences with us.

good luck.

Enzobelmont Know how to do the try to make binary patch for ATIRadeon9700.kext. graduated.?

Extract file ATIRadeon9700.kext/Contents/MacOS/ATIRadeon9700 to any place you like.

Make the follow

perl -pi -e 's|\x66\x3d\x4e\x4a|\x66\x3d\x55\x59|g' ATIRadeon9700

perl -pi -e 's|\x66\x3d\x48\x4a|\x66\x3d\x55\x59|g' ATIRadeon9700

I assume DevID=5955 - last digits in the string in reverse order.

You need to do both commands!

In some versions of ATIRadeon9700 it is not work. In this case you need other commands

perl -pi -e 's|\x3d\x4e\x4a\x00|\x3d\x55\x59\x00|g' ATIRadeon9700

perl -pi -e 's|\x3d\x48\x4a\x00|\x3d\x55\x59\x00|g' ATIRadeon9700

Then replace original file with patched, repair permissions and try!

Serves some program or only terminal? You can help me? Thanks

I'll be away for a week starting from today so I won't be able to help unfortunately. I am back next Sunday and will pop back and say hi.

I regret to say that DiaboliK hasn't replied :);)

See you all soon.

Same here. By the way, see this post here, at no. 20, http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34244, where mrheat describes having QE/CI working on the xpress 200. Sys he got it with something called the "natit_uni1.0.pkg". Anyone here looked into that?Same here. Hes talking about having Natit work with his nV 7600GS, just that his motherboard has a ATI x200

Hmmm, I don't know, I got Natit to do this:

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Starting.

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Found device

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Found device name

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @0,device_type=display

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @0,compatible=ATY,Alopias

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @1,display-connect-flags=0x00000400

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @1,name=ATY,Alopias

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @0,display-connect-flags=0x00000400

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting device_type=ATY,AlopiasParent

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @0,name=ATY,Alopias

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @1,compatible=ATY,Alopias

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting @1,device_type=display

3/16/08 11:07:22 PM kernel Natit: Setting model=ATI Radeon Xpress Series

Then OS X boots, but the screen is covered with black and white static. I can tell it boots because near the top I can see behind the static to the blue desktop, and when I press a bunch of nonsense keys I can hear the error (Glass) sound. Also, I shut it down by pressing my power button, then Enter 2 times. Meaning I went through the 2 dialogs for confirming a shutdown.

I tried the Natit patch that you used, and I could boot into my desktop, thou there was no QE/CI and I couldn't change the screen resolution (so everything was stretched), thou all 128mb of VRam was recognized, and it did seem like a the Natit kext loaded on my x200 (dev id 5955)

Edit

It seems I messed up, sorry, the Natit kext doesn't load after all. ( I was testing lots of different options and I thought i had loaded Natit but i had just loaded ATILead), sorry.

I have read thorough the 16-17 pages of this thread and I am still unclear as to the following:

Has ANYONE gotten a 200M to work at 1280x800 (or anything above 1024x768) WITH QE on 10.5.2? I think not, but some of these posts are not very clear.

If so, or if you have gotten close, please let us know your exact procedure. This will save us all from reinventing the wheel as we try to troubleshoot the issue (I am working with a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop)

Thanks
