My TRAGIC experience:

Check my rig in my signature.

Updated with loki installer, machine rebooted slow but fine. No QE /CI enabled, at all, so I reinstalled Natit_Uni.

Catastrophe. Machine wouldnt EVER boot into GUI anymore, not even with -x -f or deleting natit.kext

Hope a new package is up and running soon :P

anoynimouss, i have taken down the links, i didn't realise the kernel was still in beta beta beta stages. If anyone wants to get the kernel, follow the link on http://www.semthex.com to their new network and join #1049. In the new update, it will be without the 10.4.9 kernel.

Sorry for any trouble caused

EDIT: For those with BSDRoot troubles, tryi using a older IOPCIFamily.kext

I noticed video and audio stuttering, or no sound at all (Only during movies), also application crashes.

The audio could be because i'm using an older versions of azalia, the video could be a missing codec (doubt it), the application crashes i can't explain, it mostly happens when i close an application.

This is an screen shot

I'm having this problem, I didn't copied the IOATA because I have an intel D945GNTL motherboard,

WHat I did was added the r3d3 kext on rc file located at /etc, I added this:

kextload /System/Library/Extensions/r3d3.kext but even on -s it doesn't works :P

ATI kexts dont play well without the new kernel, neither does the opengl.framework. So replace them with older versions

i beg to differ. the 10.4.9 ATI kexts work fine it just the opengl the need to be worked on :P

(you should really use the combo update not the delta)

Yeah, i should have used the combo, i actually thought i was working on the combo, i was wondering why it was so small :P.

I'll pop out a combo this arvo

Witch is the difference in size?

I've downloaded the 159 MB (167.695.830 bytes) in size. Is this the combo?

combo is 300 mb, i have some good news, i've got past bsd root issues (using a older kernel)

EDIT: anonymouss has patched newer kernel to work, get it on irc.osx86.hu

I think my os x has a problem after updating to 10.4.9

I want to copy some backup kexts back to see if it fixes the hang, but from the dvd, i can see files only from the dvd.

After I boot from the installation dvd, and run terminal, what's the commands to move to

the osx partition on my harddrive?

I downloaded the new kiko update off of demonoid and installed the 10.4.9 kernel and I seem to be having trouble with the new 8.9.1 kernel because after the update I get this kernel panic:

When updating to the new kernel is the old one saved somewhere on the volume or is it deleted?

I'm having exactly the same result as bob2600, and I applied the update with the new kernel option checked. It was solved by replacing back mach_kernel (Mifki 8.8.1), AppleSMBIOS.kext, System.kext and IOATAFamily.kext. So I guess it should be easy to fix once we know what exactly is the problematic file.

[EDIT] A couple of minor issues. I cannot login into MSN anymore, and the eject key on my Apple keyboard has stopped working. Any ideas?

[EDIT] The MSN problem seems to be Microsoft-related.
