ShadowOfGed (on the AppleNova forums) coded binary installers for NTFS-3G and his own MacFUSE Tools. I mirrored the DMG on my site, just because I can.

MacFUSE Tools + NTFS-3g 1.0 Package Installers: http://erbic.dynalias.com/Files/NTFS-3G+Tools.dmg

No problem... I don't know if Comcast is limiting my bandwidth, but I get so little traffic that it doesn't matter.

I don't know how good my apparent upload speed is; I've never really gotten a chance to test this from outside my local network. Should get around to that. :)

Is this MACFUSE + NTFS-3G stable and safe to use with NTFS drives? Could it cause corruption? Anyone had problems? Or is it as "safe" as working with MacDrive7?

As of March '08, of course... sorry didn't realize this thread was so old; but how is this program doing as of today in regards to the above questions?

Lol, if I didn't see the year I would have probably missed it. I haven't tried the MacFUSE method, but I have tried the trial of the Paragon NTFS for Mac software. It might have been myself having problems with my external USB drive (it *HATES* osx86), but from what I can tell, if you need very basic ntfs support for say documents or even photos, than this system is pretty good and stable. If you're transferring large amounts of data, like video or software, probably not the best solution. I transfered an 800 meg trial of iWork '08 to my usb drive and it became corrupted, along with several other large bits of data like movies and shows. In those cases, I recommend using Parallels or boot out into another OS on your system to transfer them.

Again, it may have just been my weird drive. Perhaps it works better with actual hard disks. I think if you need constant access to a drive via OSX, I'd consider backing up the data and reformatting it to HFS+. Otherwise, use MacDRIVE. I've never had a problem with MacDrive ever.
